My wife and I have stayed here a couple of times as we really like the general area.
Hotel is in a great location on the beach. Sea view rooms have a great view but other rooms are quite mixed in size and quality. Some of these have terrible views.
Staff were very friendly. Breakfast and dinner were very good. Bar can be lively some nights.
Definitely need your car to get about. Would recommend it for a get away stay.

Myself and my partner stayed here last week. First impressions of the hotel were good with fantastic views although it was a bit out of the way. The main fault with this hotel was that there were renovations going on in the hotel that we were not told about prior to our stay. There was a makeshift reception area inside one of the emergency exits right outside bedrooms. When we checked in our room was located right beside the temporary reception on the ground floor and looking out into the carpark. Cars could park literally a foot outside the window and look into our room! The renovation work stopped at around 7 in the evening and started again at 9 the next morning. With that noise, the sound of the cars outside our window and the 'reception' area outside it was far from a peaceful stay! The room itself could not be faulted we were given a suite and the dinner and breakfast were also delicious.

Room Tip: Do not pick a room on the ground floor!

My husband and I stayed at the Armada hotel while attending a wedding, a brief overnight stay.

The hotel is very tasteful, and in a beautiful location, The views from the restaurant are spectacular, and well worth the trip. The rooms themselves were comfortable, and the food was exceptional (both the wedding meal and the breakfast buffet).

There is no wireless connectivity in the rooms, and phone reception was very patchy, but as this was not a business trip, this was more of an inconvenience than anything else. The front desk staff were very accommodating and offered to let me use their phone when I asked about phone coverage.

The biggest disappointment for me was the room service charges. As parents of a young toddler, we were looking forward to breakfast in bed as a rare treat. However, as I was completing the breakfast card, I noticed that there was not simply a small tray charge (which would have been fine) but the tray charge was a. high and b. per person, and there were supplements on some of the breakfast options. This meant that for my husband and I to have breakfast in the room, we would have been charged up to 20 euro extra, which is more than double the charge in anywhere else I have ever stayed. We were both quite disappointed with this aspect, and it spoiled an otherwise lovely stay.

Room Tip: Rooms with a sea view are beautiful

Really nice hotel by the sea, room had great views of the coast. Food was excellent , really no complaints. Breakfast also very good. little pricy at 238.00 for 2 nights B@B, would normally expect an evening meal, but other than that, very nice hotel !

Room Tip: Ask for room facing the sea !

Stayed here recently for 2 nights, really enjoyed our time. Location is peaceful and remote, looks right out onto the beach. Breakfast was nice both mornings, good selection. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The best thing about this hotel however has to be the bar food...huge portions and very reasonable. Fish and chips is one of the best I've tasted! Unfortunately Johnny Burkes bar was undergoing renovations when we were there but it didn't take from our stay though it would have been nice to see it. Staff are friendly and accommodating, especially the bar staff! Would recommend.
