I was visiting a friend in the area who mentioned that a new restaurant had just opened so we decided to investigate. I was glad we did as La Cucina is lovely.
It is classy without being too 'stuffy' and has a modern but comfortable feel about it. All too often nowadays restaurants find it hard to be both. The evening we visited was packed, but there was a lovely atmosphere in there and importantly the service was still excellent.
My friend and I had some pizza bread to start which was delicious. Then for our mains I had the spaghetti marinara, which was superb. All too often pasta and specifically spaghetti is over cooked, but this was cooked to perfection. My friend opted for the fusili posilipo and was equally impressed. Although we were quite full we thought it would be criminal not to have any desserts, so we opted for the tira mi su which was delicious and homemade too by all accounts!
Overall great service and great food, just a shame I don't live near by, however it does give me an excuse to visit my friend more often, as this could well become a new 'away from home' regular place to eat!
