This place was absolutely wonderful, the staff were so nice and the food was delicious. I asked for a vegan diet and everything was excellent. Nancy, the owner, is a really nice person and she is very friendly with her guests. The trip to the desert was fantastic, a unique experience. There were great musicians playing at night, not only in the house, but also in the desert camp.

Thanks to all Dar Sidi Bounou staff for our lovely stay.

Even before we arrived Nancy had provided us with great advice about the car journey from Marrakech and helped us plan a trip to the desert. Dar Sidi Bounou does feel as though it has been created out of the desert and is a great place to start a desert trip from. Yes, the rooms are simple and the water mains are sometimes turned off but Nancy does all she can, along with her friendly staff, to ensure you are comfortable and enjoy a wonderful experience. Besides if you can sleep on the terrace under the stars and watch the Milky Way what else do you need? Rakia fed us fabulous food and each meal Nancy ate with us and spun engaging tales about her life and Morocco. We had an amazing 4x4 overnight trip to Erg Chigaga, driven by Cashti and accompanied by Said (all arrange for us by Nancy). They were both great fun and brilliant with our 2 boys. The sandboarding was a great hit. The bivouac under the dunes is a little spot of heaven, it is impossible to describe the majesty of the dunes and the overwhelming sense of wilderness and space around you. I have never heard true silence before and that in itself was incredible. On our return to Dar Sidi, Nancy welcomed us again and showed us her wonderful collection of paintings. I get the impression that if you make time for Nancy she will make time for you. She is genuinely interested in people of all ages and has a great talent for listening to children and valuing what they have to say. Everyone one at Dar Sidi had a smile for you and when you depart, you leave hoping you will return one day.

After a long tour from Marrakech we have arrived at Dar Sidi and were warmly welcomed by Nancy and her team. The rooms are simple, but traditionally equipped. Water supply varied, but it was not unexpected since the Dar is closely located to the desert. Nancy has organised a desert trip on Dromedaries for us, which was fun and interesting (especially when the Dromedaries tried to sneak off while we had a short rest). In the evening after a delicious dinner the guys played on drums for us and tried to teach us how to play on it. Don't miss the chance to stay at Nancy's place and enjoy the interesting talks with her. The price of 50€ per person per night was bit higher as expected, but the hospitality of Nancy and her team are definitively worth it! All the best & thanks from Julia and Karoline

We just completed a quick overnight to Erg Chigaga with Dar Sidi Bounou and I can't say enough nice things. Our schedule was tight and time was short, but Nancy helped me immensely with the planning via email and offered all sorts of helpful advice to make a desert trip happen. We arrived midday and were graciously received by Nancy and her staff. They taught our son a bit of drumming and showed him some fun toys to play with, and we had a delicious lunch. Once the sun started to drop, we were taken by 4 x 4 out into the desert, with many opportunities to stop and take pictures, learn about the desert nomadic life, visit an oasis, etc.. All of guides, drivers, etc. were very fun to be with. We climbed up to the top of the big dunes and played in the sand for sunset (our son tried sandboarding, which he loved). We had a delicious dinner, enjoyed some wonderful drumming and singing and then slept under the stars as the huts/rooms were a bit warm that evening. The next morning we had a yummy breakfast, enjoyed a camel ride around the dunes and headed back to Dar Sidi Bonou for a quick shower before hitting the road again. Facilities are very simple and basic, but you are in the desert where water and resources are scarce, so it makes sense. But the food was wonderful, the people were friendly, helpful and fun and we had a terrific time. The staff/family of Dar Sidi Bounou go out of their way to give you a wonderful experience.

very authentic place on the edge of the desert, the owner Nancy is very welcoming, friendly and entertaining, room is rather simple and there was often no water, in itself no problem, made experience only more authentic, but 150 euro for 1 night (including food) is a bit much maybe, location is wonderful at edge sand dunes, also very beautiful desert tour with Said and driver Hussein, Said is very friendly and helpful, fun with kids, camel rides could last longer for our taste
