“Real Sahara feeling”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Arriving to the dunes takes time in the 4x4 but that is exactly the part of the experience of having the feeling you are going into the Sahara. Beautiful dunes. Very hot in the afternoon as you would expect. Great experience.

when we visited it was rather quiet, not to much people, beautiful place, just how I always imagined the Sahara would be like

“I like this place”

The trip into the pre-Sahara desert to see the Erg Chigaga is about 60 km and it takes 2-3 hours. To do this trip you need a jeep and a local guide; don't attempt to do it on your own. The dunes are evocative and beautiful, the silence important, the starry night is impressive. You can't go to Mhamid and not go this extra step - it is well worth while.

“Golden Dune”
Reviewed 13 February 2014

An exciting trip by 4x4 into the desert followed by the most amazing vista. If you are selective about which excursion to do, this would be one you cannot miss. Highly recommend!!

“taste of Sahara”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

Had a great experience of the desert in Erg Chigaga. It was a good 2-3 hours rally drive to get there, but it was worth it. this way you really out in the middle of nowhere and you can see the desert is not only sandy dunes but rocks and stones.
Once you arrive just climb the top of the dunes, sit down and relax, enjoy watching the sun go down.
The night was really special, the sky is so clear you almost feel you can touch the stars. Wrap up well though, it gets pretty cold.
