Staying at the camp was the highlight of our trip to Morocco. The staff at the camp are attentive, without being intrusive, friendly, up for a good laugh/joke and looked after every detail.

Our driver, Jamal, was great. He has a great sense of humor, very safe driver and shared some great Moroccan music with us.
There is as little or as much for you to do at the camp. We enjoyed hanging out in the hammocks and chilling as well as hiking the dunes.

Sundowners at the top of the dunes is magical....unplug and enjoy!

My daughter (30-ish) and I (much older) spent a charming, entertaining, captivating time at Erg Chigaga! Amidst our visits also to Marrakesh, Todra Gorge, and ChefChoaouen, it was a stand-out. To get there efficiently, we left our Marrakesh hotel at 3:30 a.m. and flew on Royal Air Maroc through Casablanca to Zagora to be met at the airport by Jamal (from Erg Chigaga). Then the fun began. He drove us (in his wonderful Toyota SUV with leather seats and the works) about three hours to Mhamid, where the pavement ended, and then another two through the desert. He made the entire time interesting--stories, stops to see pottery made, one to buy long scarves to tie around our heads & to lunch. Even after such a long day, we saw the camp and were totally energized. Charming greeters, a beautiful tent, ways to relax and recover and then a delightful hike up the tallest dune to watch sunset (complete with happy hour treats with the staff.) Dinner later was with families from London and Italy; and we could not have had more fun: great food, good wine, gracious service, charming stories. The desert gets very dark at night so we slept like rocks and awakened to a gorgeous sunrise and a staff member at our tent inquiring about our interest in coffee, fresh hot water, etc. My goodness--such pampering.

My daughter and I had a wonderful time in all of Morocco but the one truly magic spot was Erg Chigaga. I'm totally in love now with deserts and most of all Berbers. What charm and graciousness.

An absolutely incredible, unique experience! Nick and his team went above and beyond to ensure that everything was memorable and seamless. My husband and I were picked up by our driver directly from the airport in a spotless, comfortable land cruiser for the trip to the desert, and it turned out that the drive there was part of the magic! Ayoub had lots of great information and stopped at tons of unique sites for us to take pictures along the way. He also gave us the option of going off the beaten path along the caravan route to a beautiful kasbah that we would have never discovered on our own.
Once we arrived to the camp, we were blown away by how beautiful and unique everything was. My husband and I were the only people there our first two nights, but Mohammad and Dawoud went out of their way to make sure that everything was always perfect. Our days were filled with the perfect mixture of activities they arranged and time to relax. I appreciated they provided the opportunity to do as much or as little as we wanted. We loved the camel riding and hiking, and thought it was especially nice that we got to learn about the culture by spending time with a Nomad family.
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone considering it, and it would be perfect for both couples like us or big groups.

Myself and 5 girlfriends just got back from a fabulous two night excursion to the Luxury Desert Camp at Erg Chigaga. We couldn't have been happier with the communication with Nick, the helpfulness and kindness of the staff, the comfortable tents, and delicious and plentiful food.

Our group chose to drive ourselves in a 4x4 with the help of an excellent guide, Nourrediene. We had a blast driving in and out of the desert and its beauty was stunning.

I highly recommend at least two nights to leave at least a solid day to ride camels, hike, chat with other visitors, and lounge in the hammocks with a good book.

The staff were friendly and attentive to our needs without being overbearing and went so far as to provide a cake a champagne in celebration of our friend's birthday

This was an interesting excursion. The drive is very long and can be uncomfortable but thankfully you ride in a nice Land Cruiser. The driver tends to open the windows instead of using the AC so if you have a respiratory condition or allergies beware. They don’t change the air filters in the car, only hose them out so it will get hard to breathe. The camp is really nice in the middle of the dessert. The camp is managed by an all male staff and tends to cater towards women in a flirtatious manner so be careful of your wife. You’ll also be stuck eating tagine the whole time so if this is the end of your trip in Morocco and you’re sick of tagine... keep that in mind. I wouldn’t stay more than two nights and consider the fact that you won’t have much to do in the middle of the desert so bring reading material.
