“Mam's 90th birthday”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

Had a great experience at Doxford Hall for my Mam's 90th birthday. 27 of us had dinner there and 20 stayed the night.
The rooms were all lovely, with everything you needed for your stay.
The dinner was perfect and service at all times could not have been better. My Mam was made to feel so special, which was greatly appreciated.
From the minute we arrived to check out the next day, we had a fantastic time. We have been many times for various family celebrations and would highly recommend it. Looking forward to the next time!

Our 3rd three night visit in 4 years, all up to the highest standards of amenities, staff and food. Stayed in an Exec Room which definitely has the edge and also benefits from wi if which Classic rooms don't have.

We'll be back!

My son took me for a birthday present. Surroundings beautiful, hotel immaculate, all the food was delicious, finger sandwiches fillings were a good choice, salmon, ham, egg and tomato, cheese and pickle. The cakes were so light and so were the scones. Ran out of tea (three of us had 1 small teapot and a larger one - no hot water) and had to ask for more, also had to ask for more milk, and was given a milk jug from another table that had been standing there for a while. Other afternoon tea tables had not been cleared all the time we were there. We did enjoy the afternoon but gave a 9 very good, not an excellent.

We enjoyed a fabulous wedding weekend at Doxford Hall in April,Rachel organised all our requirements ,nothing was to much trouble. The rooms were spacious and comfortable ,the restaurant was so relaxed and the breakfast was splendid.
We chose to finish the family weekend with Sunday lunch in a private room,it was a pleasure to relax and chill out following a hectic Saturday .
All our family and friends agreed that we chose a perfect location for the weekend ,we have even booked for another short break in June,we can't recommend the hotel enough.

Room Tip: All the rooms are excellent ,but they also offer dog friendly options

We stayed here last week with our three children & cocker spaniel! The food was extremely good & the rooms were very comfortable. All of the staff were very friendly. We all enjoyed the swimming pool. The sauna perhaps needs a bit of an update. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel & would certainly recommend it. The area itself is beautiful ; the beach at Bamburgh castle was great for the children & dog having a good run around.

Room Tip: We stayed in rooms 9 & 10 which are set aside for residents with dogs.

Wonderful setting and great place. Lots of other public rooms to enjoy including a well stocked library. Room was large and well furnished. Breakfast was good quality and staff friendly. Spa was not as good as I anticipated and the pool is quite small, but this didn't detract from our stay. Plenty to do in the area - Bamburgh Castle-Lindisfarne-Cragside etc. Found a nice pub 10 minutes away which served good food and had a good atmosphere.

Having experienced hospitality at hotels across the globe from USA to Far East, I know exactly what my expectations are from top class establishments. Doxford Hall ticks all the right boxes and more. Ambience, comfort, decor, food and beverage are second to none. These qualities are complimented by exceptionally friendly staff. Arrival and departure process was uncomplicated and very professional. Facilities at the Hall include a spa and swimming pool and like the grounds, they are very well maintained.
Finally, a word about the furniture, it is clear, a great deal of thought has gone into the style of furniture in all the public rooms and guest rooms.
Well done to Management and staff, I commend you all for a job well done.

Room Tip: My advice, if you want a good room, just make a reservation with this top class hotel, whatever room...
