Had a one night stay here and we were only sad that we couldn't stay longer. The hotel is easy to find situated just off the A1 but you feel as you are in the deepest countryside. The grounds are picturesque with walks, a maze and rose gardens with ponds. We were able to get into our room The Bamburgh early. The room was large with the bathroom having both a shower and whirlpool bath. It was a beautiful day so we had lunch on the terrace overlooking a small valley which leads down to the stream. Later we tried the spa after going for a walk and a shot of the maze. In the evening we ate in the bar and found the food to be very good and reasonably priced, we then took our drinks into the lounge area which has a glass domed roof and views of the grounds. Next morning we had a nice relaxed breakfast in the restaurant which topped off a lovely stay. A special word for the staff who were all friendly and down to earth and couldn't do enough for you which really did make the stay even more pleasant. To be picky when we were in the lounge in the evening we thought a bit of background music would not have gone a miss as you felt you had to whisper as it was so quiet. Having said that this was the most minor of issues and we would definitely go back this time for longer.

This is a very beautiful, modernised manor house with pleasant gardens. You are met at the door by the luggage man and welcomed to the hotel. Reception is quick and pleasant. The room we had was adequate with a very modern bathroom but although there was wardrobe space, there were no drawers for other clothes so we lived from the suitcase. The hotel has many places to sit and the staff will happily bring you drinks or tea etc to any of them. Staff are unfailingly helpful and very professional. The two dinners we had were very special. The menu is attractively brief and the food is beautifully presented and very good to eat. This is a restaurant of a very high standard indeed. Breakfast was good too.

Recently returned from a fabulous 3 night break at Doxford Hall , all I can say is i found it to be a first class experience from start to finish. My first contact was with Kelly when booking who I found to be accommodating and professional. On arrival we were greeted in a cheerful manner by the reception staff.Dan carried our bags and showed us to our room chatting about the local area and places to visit he was upbeat and stated if there was anything else we needed he was more than happy to help. The room itself was stunning with large windows and double aspect onto the grounds which were beautiful. The public areas within the hotel were furnished to a high standard. and we generally found them to be peaceful. The food both at breakfast and dinner was of a very high standard especially the fillet steak and the home made ice-cream.We loved the place so much that we decided to stay another night so we sought out Dan who organised everything for us without us having to move rooms what a star ! The staff seem to enjoy working at the Doxford and this reflects in the good standard of service. We didn't get chance to use the Spa facilities as there is so much to do in the area but it seemed very popular. Can't wait to return to this charming place.

This is a well appointed and comfortable hotel. The room was large and very clean. It was however next to the spa pool and the noise of the exercise class in the early evening was a pain. A room nearer reception is a better bet.

Restaurant was good quality with good service.
Convenient for Bamburgh, Seahouses and Farne Islands.

Room Tip: stay away from the spa /pool windows and aerobic classes

My boyfriend and I recently stayed here for a couple of nights to explore the beautiful countryside surrounding the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were so attentive and friendly. The room was terrific in size, comfort and cleanliness. Food was a little over complicated but the ambience of the dining room made up for this. The spa facilities were great for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Beautiful grounds provided a lovely setting for a relaxing post dinner stroll and breakfast was generous and well presented on both days.
We had a lovely time and will definitely be back. Have recommended to many friends and family.

The Facility was excellent for our recent visit for a wedding reception. The whole location is 2nd to none. Service and atmosphere were impeccable and surroundings brilliant for photos.Food was very good, facilities top notch and classy. Only complaint is the price of Beverages, Alcohol and non Alcoholic were rather on the high side.

My husband and I had Sunday lunch here and enjoyed it very much. Lovely old house (with new extension but in keeping with the old part) and I liked the Morning Room where we had pre-lunch drinks. I would have liked to be given the menu to peruse while I had my drink, which is normal practice! The food was nicely cooked and the staff members were polite and friendly. I would go again.
