We called in early in the day to reserve a spot for later and after climbing the rock, safari etc... it was a great idea. 90 minutes for 3500lkr which is excellent value. I didn't get the privacy of a room alone as there was another person having his massage. Oil is then tipped onto your head and away you go... 60 minutes of an all over deep muscle massage. I am sure you can ask for 'gentle' massages but I chose the deep one.... and it was deep :-) After the hour you are placed into a wooden steam box and eventually into a small sauna type room with herbs and spices in racks on the floor.

A private shower follows and thats your 90 minutes. Well worth it and a great experience .

This cost around 30 USD per person for a spa treatment which included a 1 hour full body massage, sauna and steam bath.

Masseur was very thorough, he showed the clock before starting and at the end, to show that you had a full hour massage.

This was followed by a steam bath, similar to a sun tanning bed, but your head sticks out and you are laying on leaves. Lastly a sauna.

Took 1.5 hours overall. Necessary clothing was provided. Overall refreshing.

After a long day climbing and out on safari out driver suggested we try a traditional Sri lankan Ayurvedic massage. Boy we were not let down from the amazing head and face massage to the steam bath finish it was definitely an amazing way to unwind.

I finished a day of trekking all over Dambulla and Sigiriya only to feel totally exhausted and in need of something soothing and calm. I found that here at Sigiri Dasuna. The place isn't anything fancy or posh, but the services are true to the Ayurvedic approach in terms of massages. While the facility seemed old, and not as pristine as other spas, I was taken away to another plan of relaxation by the full body 2-hour massage I had. The prices are pretty much in line with other larger spas, and while they may be higher than some places, the level of experience and customer care tends to be higher at places like this. This was the first of 7 massages I received while in Sri Lanka, and by far one of the best!
