“WOW! WOW! WOW!”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

We totally defy anyone not to simply look open-mouthed at their first sight of their room in this incredible hotel.

I'm not going to write volumes, it's not needed. Just realise that this is simply the most stunning hotel I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed in many.

Checklist:

Buy a T10 ticket at the airport and catch the Line 46 bus which stops outside the door about 15 minutes later; no need for expensive transfers and the same ticket works for metro and bus to whizz you into town.

Food - excellent

Staff - Helpful, numerous, and English speaking

Comfort - Huge fluffy pillows, efficient airconditioning, amazing shower.

Don't hesitate, simply do it!

Room Tip: The higher the better

Location out of city centre 15 mins by Metro

Use L46 bus immediately outside international terminal on right €2.15 takes 15 mins to hotel, get off at Ikea and cross road can't miss hotel, bus service fast but a bit bumpy. (Can use T10 ticket for return journey)

Staff always attentive and interested, ask the Navigator on reception any question (within reason lol)

Quick check in (arrived late)

Breakfast excellent selection

Bars are hotel prices for drinks and snacks (expensive)

Brilliant views the higher you go (rooftop bar)

Amazing sunrise through the leaf (in room)

Toiletries and tea and coffee are provided (in our deluxe room)

BIG shopping complex at Gran Via 2 400 metre from hotel take a wheelie case if bringing back heavy goods, food supermarket is in basement, restaurants and snack bars just outside and top floor. McDonalds and other restaurants are closer opposite hotel ask navigator.

The City
T10 ticket good for all travel in the city centre buy in any Metro Station. Metro great way to travel fast (download the app)

Placa Reial off Las Ramblas pleasant square and drinks & food but was expensive for a snack

Book Sagrada Famila (Julia Travel) as queues are horrendous , guider tour lasts 1hr 30 mins

Parc Guell absolutely full book your visit to house and gardens

Casa Mill currently under renovation so nothing to see from outside

Cituadella parc worth a visit for magnificent water feature!

Carabassa restaurant good simple food at good price

Nice hotel if you are not scared by the outside elevators (pretty impressive). Rooms are stylish, maybe a little bit to much. Staff is efficient but indiferent. Overall a good hotel, better than the competition in this suburb area of Barcelona. Very convenient if you have a early flight at BCN airport.

Dear Aurelien N,

First of all we would like to thank you for your visit at the Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel and for taking your time to share the experiences you gained with us. Your feedback is more than valuable to us and we highly appreciate the chance you are giving us to respond.

Unfortunately we have learnt that you were not content with our style rooms or the staff service.

The structure and architect of the building are designed differently compare to other hotel buildings. The hotel has been designed by Jean Nouvel and Ribas & Ribas. It is very modern designed and very unique, but provides the standards of the Renaissance hotels.

On behalf of the entire team we would like to state our sincere apologies on all inconveniences caused.

Thank you very much for your time and please let me know if there is anything I can do for you or if you need any further information from me.

Best regards,

This hotel is a high-rise hotel with a breathtaking view of Barcelona, Spain. The rooms are beautifully styled with all modern features, which for Europe, that is amazing. The king sized bed was very comfortable, and enough space to move around. On the rooftop, was a modern, nice size pool with nice décor. Even a pool side bar for drinks. At night, a great view of Barcelona, all lit up. For the price, this was a great relaxing hotel. The staff was very friendly and willing to help with plans for transportation, or any needs you wanted.

My partner & I are just back from a fantastic stay in this hotel. If I could give a 4.5, I would - 4 is a little harsh, but it's just shy of a 5. The staff were the most pleasant I've ever encountered; they were courteous, informative & cheerful. I cannot stress how lovely they were. The roof pool & bar were great & many a relaxing day was spent there. In terms of the location, I really didn't think it was an issue. Convenient train from the airport & to get into the city - Metro/train station was 2 mins walk. The restaurant in the hotel was also very good, we enjoyed both lunch & dinner there. Great wine list. Also thought the empty fridge provided in the room was a great idea! The downside for me was the bar menu - it was really limited & inexplicably expensive for some items - cheese & crackers was over €8! As a result, the hotel really doesn't offer a good causal dining option, to match the excellent formal dining one. In spite of that, I would happily return here & would definitely recommend this place to others!

We arrived at this hotel after departing from an amazing experience on the Crystal Cruise Serenity ship. I wasn't expecting such an interesting and modern hotel, but it surprised both my husband and myself. When you walk into the Renaissance Barcelona, you will be pleasantly surprised by the completely modern and welcoming lobby. The staff at the front desk are more than friendly and efficient, they are helpful and knowledgeable about any questions you may have about places in the area and what bus to take to get to the town center, airport, etc. Our room on the 17th floor was absolutely the coolest room I have ever had the good fortune to stay at. So modern and clean, perfect. The outdoor pool and bar on the 27th floor was also amazing. The view of the city from up there is excellent and the bar staff were great! Worth a 2nd trip there.

Room Tip: Higher floors have a better view, but any room is worth wild, push a button and a dark shade automat...

We stayed here for my partners 30th birthday. The staff were so helpful and Veronica even managed to contact a fantastic bakery Escriba and organised for them to make a surprise birthday cake for my partners birthday. Wouldn't have been able to do this myself so was great that she helped. She was fantastic and my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the cake. The staff also then kept the cake in their kitchen fridge so that we could have a little each day as was a little larger than expected.

The hotel is a little further out of city but metro is so easy and best you get a T10 ticket for 10 euros and this lasted us over a day and we could both use the same card so much cheaper than taxis and very speedy. Also if you buy the bus touristic tickets at the hotel It works out cheaper than most places in the city which was great.

Room was lovely and spacious, shower lovely and warm and powerful. Only down side was the plugholes as the bath would fill up a little when in shower and aslo in sink. Maybe a tip for hotel to look at.

Breakfast was a lovely selection and spoilt for choice of fruit, cakes, freshly made omelette.

Would definitely return even though a little outside city as was a lovely relaxing hotel and never too warm
