Everything is relative, of course. So, compared to a two-star hotel, this place is of course great. But a four-star hotel should be compared to its peers, and in that league FIra congress is a loser.
The hotel is next to the massive Fira fair & congress centre, so the target group is business travellers, like me (100 days / year). We expect the basics to work, and work well. Unfortunately that was not the case here.
Positives: OK location (airport & Fira), decent breakfast, decor & basic design (elevators, rooms) OK. Could be great.
Negatives: hopeless wifi (this is a BIG minus for a business traveller); uninformed, even unfriendly staff; somewhat worn-out rooms (peeling paint, yellowish duvets, randomly behaving "smart" lights, irrational AC); same 90's playlist playing over & over again in the restaurant & lobbies.
All´n´all there was a sense of giving up in how the hotel was run. An I-don't-care-attitude. Maybe the austerity has been too much for this place.
