“We will be back!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 September 2013

My husband and I visited this lovely hotel the first two weeks of September. Our arrival was dealt with swiftly and efficiently by the rep from Classic Collections who organised our private taxi transfer to the hotel. We arrived and our luggage was taken swiftly to our room without us even having to touch it. Reception staff gave a warm and friendly greeting and we were offered a complimentary drink. We followed this with another couple of drinks which we were happy to pay for being seated in a very contemporary comfortable bar area. It was very windy while we were on holiday and we had been told that this was fairly unusual - not the wind but the strength of it. However, this was a warm breeze all the time which in fact was quite pleasant. Yes, the pool is chilly but when the temperature is between 30 and 35 it is actually very refreshing to dip into a nice cool pool. Absolutely no problem with the loungers/umbrellas or pool side at all. Everything was really well presented, clean and well serviced. Towels were always plentiful and there was never an issue with a lack of sunbeds. Staff were all exceptional from the manager down to the cleaning staff who were always willing and happy to help. The breakfasts were very well organised and there was a very good selection of foodstuffs. We attended the evening barbecue which due to the wind had to be held in the restaurant rather than the pool area but the food was all of very good standard and the live music was very good in the background and very good value. Lunch time menu is a little limited but fine if you just want something to take the edge off. We didn't visit the beach area, again due to the wind, but we did walk the length of the beach from Kos Village back to the hotel one evening and this was a lovely walk. The walk from the hotel to Kos town takes about 20 minutes and unless you are really unfit or disabled is an easy stroll. You do have to watch out for the cyclists and it does get a little narrow on a few occasions but nothing too much to worry about. There are several bars where you can stop for a quick drink en route if you feel the need. It is a shame that there are several bars which have closed down but I guess this is going to be seen all over the Greek islands and there isn't really much anyone can do about it. The hotel doesn't have a great outlook unfortunately due to a new hotel being built next door (we weren't bothered by noise at all during our stay although we did see a couple of chaps working and there was one piece of heavy duty machinery working). The hotel also looks out onto some open wasteland which has a few goats grazing and this does look a little messy.

We unfortunately had to cut our holiday short due to a problem at home and we can't thank the hotel staff enough for all their help and sympathy. They gave us all the flight information we could have needed and organised a cab to pick us up at 4am to get us to Kos airport. They called us to make sure we had got to the airport safely and I would like to pass on huge thanks to Maria and everyone else involved for their wonderful and caring service. We returned to England after 9 nights instead of the 14 we had planned for so we did have quite a few trips and entertainment that we would have liked to have tried both in the hotel and on the island itself but I am sure we will return to Kos and will certainly return to Aqua Blu in the future. Thanks again for the wonderful assistance you gave my husband and I it was very much appreciated.

Room Tip: In my opinion I don't think there can be any rooms that are bad in this hotel. Such high standa...

From the time we were greeted on arrival by Maria, the general manager, to the time we unfortunately had to leave to come home, we were well looked after. This hotel is for people who want a relaxing, quiet break. However, Kos town is only short walk away for day trips to Turkey and fine tavernas. The hotel's beach is quiet with stunning scenery and sunsets.

The rooms are very contemporary and spacious. Our room had a wonderful sea view. Sitting on the balcony and watching the sunsets was heaven. We hired bicycles, which were delivered to and collected from the hotel. Cycling is safe is there are convenient cycle paths outside the front of the hotel.

The only downside for us was the icy cold hotel pool, which only allowed for a short dip. Other guests we spoke to were of the same opinion.

We would recommend this hotel

Room Tip: High floors are best if you want a sea view. The pool rooms do not have a view.

Dear Guest,
Thank you so much for your kind review on trip advisor regarding your stay at Aqua Blu this September. We are very pleased to know we managed to fulfill your expectations and offer you a luxurious and memorable holiday experience.
The external pool water is indeed chilly as we are on the corner of the island and when it is windy it doesn’t help the pool temperature..! It can be really refreshing and pleasant on the hot days of the summer..!
Thank you once again for your kind comments and for taking the time to share your experience on trip advisor.

Simply heaven. It usually takes me a couple of days to wind down on holiday but by the end of the first day I was 100% switched off, relaxed and in bliss. Aqua Blu is all I hoped it would be and more - gorgeous rooms (lovely large beds and super quiet air conditioning with an enormous balcony), stunning poolside area (why leave for the beach over the road when you have the comfy sunbeds and double sunbeds 'floating' on the pool' and fabulous pool side drinks and nibbles on offer..), stunning food (try the different gastronomic events) and a total switch off pamper area in the spa.

In addition, the staff - from reception, the resturant, the barman, and Marcel pool-side everyone is there to help you relax and satisfy your every whim. On the first evening we arrived very late due to plane delays but were served food pool-side and a yummy welcome cocktail. When I tried to move my glass out of the way of the food I was quickly told 'don't move, we're here to pamper you..'. And that's exactly how I'd sum the holiday up.

Simply perfect.

Room Tip: We booked a deluxe sea view room that provided views of Kalymanos and Turkey.

It was a pleasure to spend our holidays at the Aqua Blu.
Traveling a lot for my job brings me to all possible countries in Europe and the world and obviously also into many hotels.
As such I seek for our holidays to have a small hotel with high standards, high end quality on all levels and a personal touch.

We have found this over the last few years on the Greek islands.
For the last two years we have been staying in Lindos Blu in Rhodos and this year we wanted to try something new and booked for Aqua Blu with the highest of expectations.

On general Aqua Blu has fulfilled our expectations, especially the upgrade to the Pool Suite has pleased us a lot.
The architecture of the hotel is exactly what we were looking for, the pool area is by far one of the best we've ever experienced and the personal approach and going the extra mile of the staff was highly appreciated.

The restaurant and the special events for the dinners (BBQ, the pop-up restaurant,...) offer quality that comes near to perfection.

Pricing is obviously very personal, but we found that we have done an excellent deal and received value for money.

It is with much pleasure we look back at our holiday and we'll be most probably coming back one of the upcoming years.
Meanwhile, we will definitely promote Aqua Blu with our friends if they consider a stay in Kos.

We have been lucky enough to return to Aqua Blu for the 2nd time this year and our 5th visit in total. We have seen the hotel improve on every visit with the majority of the staff also returning which really helps in maintaining the standards. Maria has been the manager from when it was opened last year and has hand picked a wonderful team around her with only customer satisfaction in mind. Most of the previous reviews talk about the quality of service and we have to agree, this is what we look for in a 5 star hotel and you certainly get it here.
The desire to exceed your expectations is obvious across all departments, I wouldn’t say that they get it correct first time every time, their have been a couple of instances (in 5 visits) where we have questioned an action but we can assure you that it was corrected immediately in a professional manner and procedure’s changed so that it did not reoccur.
We have used the spa on every visit for relaxation its fantastic and well worth a visit! The pool area is never over crowded and Marcel is always on hand to serve you drinks/food at your sun lounger. You don’t experience the usual reserving of sun lounger they are plentiful and situated at great locations around the pool, we tried lots of locations and found them all great for sunbathing! We used the beach on a couple of days, again service for drinks/food was excellent and so was the sea!! The hotel is situated just out side Kos town so you are far enough away from noise/ traffic etc, but only 5mins on a bike or a 20min walk.
In all if you want a childfree holiday, with excellent service /food/ spa/location, and access to a manager who cares and listens then this is the place for you.

Getting to aqua blu after a booking mix up was the best thing that could happen to us. Location was great, a 15 minute bicycle ride and a 3 minute taxi from the village. Great clean rooms (overstaying and late checkout was easily handled), great pool and a very nice spa, but above all an amazing staff, outstanding service from bellboys to maria the manager. Food and drinks are a bit expensive but overall stay is warmly recomended! From the minute we reached the hotel till the moment we left we knew we are in good hands.
