If you want to find a real greek meal and atmosphere without tourists - it is perfect place. Portion are unimaginable, food very delicious and all the stuff are super! We felt in love with taverna's owner. Very polite, honest and friendly man. I guess he liked us too because gave one more jug of home wine :)) really wonderful place! Highly recommend

“Real traditional greek cuisine”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

This place is located just behind Dimitris-Paritsa hotel in Kos town. When you ask a real greek for real greek food, they'll all say "eat where the locals eat". And this is the place where the locals eat.

The place is clean. The service is fast. The staff is very friendly. The owner personally entertains you and recommends the freshest catch of the day. The fish served are even personally picked by the owner from the sea (yes, the owner dives into the deep sea to take oysters/ clams/ fish), so you are for sure getting the freshest ingredients. If you are not sure what to eat, let the owner treat you with his own set menu, and you will surely have a great taste of Greece.

The price is very reasonable compared to the other restaurants or tavernas in Kos town. I would say 15€/ person, with starters, main dish and half a litre of white wine. Dessert, which is a plate of seasonal fruits, is on the house (it's free).

We ate here everyday for the remainder of our stay in Kos island, and we were pleased! Pay this place a visit, and you will not regret it.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

We had eaten at this restaurant last year and left with good impressions due to mixed grill, but this years' chicken and pork steaks were even better. Very friendly staff, who also serve Greek surprises on the house. It is situated on a quiet street easily reached from the main Kanari Avenue.
We intend to eat there at least once more, on our next visit to Kos.

“Something really quite special.”
Reviewed 27 October 2013

The menu depends on what the owner has caught. The fruit is from his own farm. It's where the greeks eat. Its one of the best meals I have ever had... I am struggling to give this place the review it deserves.

The Cabbage (yes, the cabbage) was sensational. Crunchy, but cooked, with the perfect blend of oil and vinager, with a scattering of capers that bring out its natural flavours wonderfully.

The young cod, lightly fried with a hint of batter simply melted the moment you tasted it.

The octopus, caught earlier, tasted of the sea and was bursting with juice.

The complimentary fruit plate... the figs... the figs... they were indescribable.

The food was so, so, so simple, nothing but fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection with a chunk of lemon.

It has only been open a year and a half, its worth visiting kos for this place alone.

A gem. A hidden, off the beaten track, genuine greek gem.
