Having read the reviews on trip adviser we were looking forward to the experience of "George" and what Alice Springs had to offer....We weren't Dissapointed.. From the moment we arrived we felt like we were v i p's nothing was too much trouble, everything was spotless, the staff were so friendly and available at any time, the food was lovely, the whole atmosphere of the place made it feel as if you were staying at George and Barbara's home with a few friends. If you needed advice on anything or anywhere on the island they were happy to oblige giving us names of people at resturaunts to ask for so you get good deals and places to go and not to go so no days were wasted. Elias worked the bar until the last person stopped drinking and as for "Theme nights"......well.. The lamb is the best we have ever tasted and the ribs were that big id hate to be faced with one of the pigs they came from... Fantastic and value for money.. The hotel is a short walk to the beach and has plenty of ammenities within walking distance including a supermarket and great resturants. All in all it has been the best holiday we have ever had and are saving hard to try and get back there before end of season..But will be there for deffinate next year..Having read recent reviews since our return i can only imagine these people stayed on a different island at another hotel with the same name as nothing they have stated in their reviews is correct or a true reflection on George Barbera Elias or Alice Springs Hotel..Thankyou to the whole team for the most fantastic two weeks any one could wish for on your holiday...

Room Tip: all rooms are clean and tidy.some are more modern than others

June 2012. Like taking a holiday with family/friends. George, Barbara and Elias will do everything they can to help you have a great holiday, nothing is too much trouble. They are fun and very welcoming, greeting you on arrival and hugs and kisses when leaving. Made to feel extremely welcome. Pool is located in centre of hotel but if you prefer it a little quieter you also have the option of the garden to sit and read or sunbathe in. The location is perfect. Beach and restaurants 5 mins to the right of the hotel, restaurants to the left 5mins. Supermarket 2 mins. Cycle hire 1 min. Kos town, 10 mins walk if fast walker, 20 mins stroll otherwise. All in all, Alice Springs is one place I would return to whilst the current owners are there. The room was clean and sheets/towels changed daily. Some rooms more modern than others but typical Greek style hotel. Cannot fault in any way. Anazing holiday - wish we were there now. Kaz and Kim

Thanks George, Barbara & Elias for YET AGAIN a lovely holiday at the ALICE SPRINGS and the beautiful Island of Kos. This was our third trip back to the hotel, this year without our 18 year old son who also enjoys this hotel very much. George, Barbara & Elias cannot do enough for everyone, you are made to feel very welcome and looked after very well. Thank you very much Alice Springs for yet another great holiday. See you all in September if we can get some good flights. Regards to you all Alan Lesley & AJ

We had booked kos and this hotel because we were attending a wedding, we were greeted at 1.30am when our transfer took a while longer than expected, but we were still greeted with a smile.

This was the continuing theme throughout the week, George, Barbara and their son Elias, spoke to you by name to make the visit personal, were always happy to help and couldn't have been better hosts.

The hotel is based between Kos Town and Lambi, around a 15-20 minute walk to main strip of town, we stayed in an apartment, which had a fridge, cooker, microwave, kettle, pots and pans so we couldn't complain about the room at all, it was cleaned and towels changed daily and the bedding was changed mid week.

We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel, but a lot more time than we have ever done at any hotel as we felt welcome, the bar is fairly priced its a little cheeper if you wander into town. And I would highly recommend the lamb night on a friday! It was superb and great value for money!

Other things we done while their was a three island boat trip which was very enjoyable! we got to swim in the sea, BBQ and see there surrounding islands, we also took a trip to turkey, you do get dropped off at the market, which is jammed packed with counterfeit goods, if you take a short walk to the coast/harbour you will soon find more appealing streets and shops.

We also ate at Mama Rosa, if you ask at the hotel they will point you in the right direction, the pizza's here are to die for!

A great holiday and lovely hotel!

Room Tip: The apartments are good if you want that extra space and place to cook if needed, wasn't fond of...

We have just returned from 2 weeks at Alice Springs & have had one of the best holidays ever. George, Barbara, Elias and all the staff are so friendly and go that extra mile to make every guest feel special. We went self catering, our studio was really nice, cleaned every day with clean towels supplied, even if we didn't need them.Even though we explored quite a bit and didn't spend as much time around the pool bar in the evening as some people, we were still made to feel special when we were there. Having said that, we did do the lamb night twice & the steak night once -- both excellent.
There are lots of places to eat in Kos town, Caravan, which we went to several times having read the reviews on Trip Advisor, excellent food and Hassan is magic, don't be in too much of a hurry to leave though as he brings you little complimentary puddings that have been made by his wife, and we were given a metaxa each every time we ate there. Another excellent place we found was turn left out of the hotel, down to the t junction, turn left & cross over the road to Angelina's House, just a few yards down. Lovely food, huge portions and very reasonable. A few yards along from there is George's Garden, a great little taverna run by George & Demitrea, set in a lovely shady garden and lovely home cooking, eggs & chips just like mum used to make. They make you feel so welcome, keep the glasses in the freezer, we'll be back next year.

Just returned to England after a week in the Alice Springs Hotel. What a great time we had. From day one we felt as thougb we were being welcomed as guests in George and Barbaras home. Every one at the hotel went out of their way to look after us. The atmosphere was so friendly. Our room was lovely and kept spotlessly clean throughout our whole stay. George and Barbara and of course Elias have converted us. Usually we dont spend any time at our hotel.Usually we just head for the beach and stay there. But we actually wanted to stay at the hotel because everyone was so lovely. Many thanks to Barbara for her kindness and magic cream for Sasha. I am already looking to return in September.... I recommend this hotel to all. See you soon George,Barbara,Elias.
