Ranked #9 of 48 Hotels in Kos Town

Reviewed 30 August 2014

the hotel is located in Lambi, o sort of suburb of Kos town, the capital. The center can be reach in a 15 minutes walk or even better 5 minutes bicycle ride. Oposite the hotel there is bicycle hire center, then in the area you can find restaurants, bars, car moto rental, supermarket, etc... The hotel itself consists of several buildings and bungalows placed in a nice green garden, surrounding the swimming pool. The 3 star standard is achieved in terms of facilities, maybe even exceeded. (the gym for example is better then you can find in 4-5 star hotels, it also has floodlit tennis court, good bar and pool area). But the most important asset of the hotel is the staff. Can-do mentality, open, friendly, helpful, genuinly interested for the guests well-being. We felt welcomed and taken care of. The room was not large, nor spectacular, but: it was cleaned every day, had good working individual adjustable unit airconditioning , good water pressure shower, good mattresses, good signal for wireless internet, what else do you need? In fact, the seemed to be the amazing with this hotel: they have managed to pinpoint very specificaly what the guests need, and made those perfect. For example, at the all inclusive restaurant, in a relatively small display area they have concentrated the perfect choice for any demand: for vegetarians, for italian pasta lovers, seafood, meats, etc... it was very-very efficient and with much appreciation. Nice music in the evenings at the pool bar, friendly bartenders. As a drawback, one could mention the distance to the beach... but: hiring a bicycle cost 2-3 euros per day, and then the ride to the beach or to downtown becomes a true pleasure, as they have in Lambi and Kos separate bicycle lanes, safe and comfortable... Overall, congrats for the management who saw exactly what is really important for their guests. Also for hiring the right staff. We had a nice holiday in this hotel, we recommend it as a 3* plus

After reading the reviews on this hotel i booked it expecting a top hotel for a weeks break in early august.
Some good and bad points to mention.
Good points are, helpfull and friendly staff, good quality food unlike some of the bigger hotels, nice gardens always clean and good location within easy walk to beach and kos town.
Bad points are, small pool and crowded around the pool, the all inclusive bar deal was not the best, only offering beer, wine, ouzo and brandy, any other drinks like gin or vodka were chargeable, never come across that before.
Average hotel good for a relaxing slow paced break.

On arrival we were greeted with professional and friendly staff. Our little bungalow was attractive, and clean. The shower was the only thing that wasn't perfect - it tended to spray all over the bathroom when used!

The gardens were beautiful and the area around the pool was clean and attractive. The breakfasts were amazing, with a brilliant choice. The staff are obviously very happy in their work and were generous and friendly. The Greek Night was fun!

This hotel is about a 20 minute walk from Kos Town, but we hired bikes which made life easier! It was really cheap to do this and there was a cycle path for most of the way.

Room Tip: We had rooms away from the bar and the pool. Although neither were exceptionally noisy.

I spent 10 days in Gaia Garden at the beginning of July and it didn't fail to live up to the great and very much deserved positive reviews. The staff are extremely friendly and this really gives the hotel the most wonderful atmosphere which is far from a large chain type experience and this is exactly what we were looking for. We did initially have a room close to the bar and as per other reviews it was a little noisy (I had my mum and daughter in my room, but the music stops at 12 so may not be a problem for other guests) but we were soon re-located to a room right at the back near the tennis courts which was lovely and peaceful - we were also advised that we could have phoned the bar from the room to ask them to turn the music down.
I am a foodie and enjoy good food and this was definitely one of the highlights of the stay. There are loads of different salads and a very good choice of vegetable/meat/fish dishes which always included lots of traditional Greek food. We knew from previous reviews about the drinks and the teenagers were happy with the beer and my mum and I who enjoy good white wine were very happy with the free wine which was very drinkable.
Our party included two teenagers - they loved sunbathing on the roof, the gym, the Jacuzzi, the food and beer and the 20 min walk into Kos town. My daughter is 4 and the small pool kept her happy the whole holiday, she made lots of European friends and it was like a little kids club - the staff really make a fuss of all of the children which is lovely.
This is my first Trip Adviser review and this hotel totally merited my time to share what an amazing holiday we all had (3 generations loved it!) and to recommend a stay!!!!

Room Tip: As per review rooms nearer the tennis courts are very peaceful

Last minute booking and not disappointed. Breakfast great including fresh waffles. We stayed 2 nights and loved it. Need to hire bikes really to get to town centre. Pool clean. Staff friendly and very polite. There is a lovely playground for younger children. Could do with perhaps more table tennis and sun beds around the pool. Booking of sunbeds by placing towels on them should not be tolerated though.
