“Super!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2014 via mobile

Stopped before and after sailing charter and delighted we did. Staff especially were uniformly friendly, helpful and efficient. Excellent buffet breakfast included hot selections. Dinner on the terrace so good - steaks in particular - that we ate there all 3 nights. Spacious, quiet, well appointed, rooms and bathrooms with large balconies and splendid view. Thanks.

The Aktis was everything we could have asked for - close to town, impeccably clean and well designed, and with wonderful views of the water and all the activity around it. We especially enjoyed the evenings after a busy day looking out over the glass sided balcony and watching the world go by on the harbourfront. We began to judge time by when the ferries came in rather than by the clock, a true sign you are really on vacation!
Breakfast on the terrace was a treat every morning, with a lovely buffet and water lapping on the deck close by, as we sat under our umbrella, soaked in the atmosphere and planned our day. The beach was clean and great for swimming, another plus in a hotel so close to town. All in all, a perfect blend of being in the centre of things and being far enough away to be able to chill out.

Room Tip: Any room is good, but higher up will be more quiet if that is an issue. Having said that, we had no...

This Hotel offers absolutely everything it has a great location so close to Kos Town. All the rooms overlook the water and they are very spacious and extremely clean they all have floor to ceiling windows Wow what a view !!!!
The Restaurant H20 has a fantastic atmosphere it is very busy all day & is popular with the locals. The food is lovely cooked fresh and the service is great the waiters are lovely especially Antonas and the restaurant manager Dimitri he was so helpful.
We hired a car from Auto way Rentals just across & along the road from the hotel towards the Marina great prices and very friendly.
We would not hesitate to return to this Hotel it is Wonderful.

Room Tip: All the Rooms have wonderful views of the sea and are stunning but the higher the floor the better.

Pleasant well appointed room with great views overlooking sea and marina towards Turkey.
Very helpful reception staff who were efficient and well organized
Convenient location for Kos town yet essentially a relaxed seaside location.

Room Tip: Super views from third floor.

I reached the hotel after a pleasant 10 min walk from the port with my 10kg luggage passing the gorgeous fortifications on my right to reach the area which seemed to be 'the place to be' in Kos. The hotel is located right near the sea and apparently is in great demand even with the locals for breakfast or meals/drinks during the day. Actually purely because of their noise, I had to close the balcony doors of my third floor room, also the mosquitoes which kept coming into the room!!!!! I would have loved to go to sleep in my top floor room with the windows open hearing the sea waves........ I guess I was asking too much!!!!

The hotel is very modern, with very cool hallways, although antique and very slow lift which made me use the stairs instead. The room was very modern too, overlooking the Turkish coast and the port to the left, a small, decked sun lounging area with restaurant near to it that looks very cool. You can leave your bath gown there and have a swim in the cold sea - all is perfectly safe, up to the point you reach the stones that cut into your feet. The bathroom had cool lines and great, thick towels and gowns with sleepers and great toiletries, although the pillows in the room are so hard as if you are sleeping on stones!!!!!! As in the other Greek islands, you get only news channels in English.

Some staff tries to help you, although some come across as 'edgy' when they bluntly tell you at 7am: 'sorry madam this breakfast table is reserved' in a 5% occupied space. The same thing happened to a guy who did not notice, just like me, the reserved sign.

Everything in Kos town is walking distance, although some people chose to use the bicycles on the marked areas (well done Kos!!!!!!) or between resorts. Others seem to rent the quad type bikes, methods which I have not seen in the other Greek islands I visited recently. If you like tasting cakes, do not turn left from the hotel, right near the pharmacy and stop in that corner shop housed by the same building: you will end up like me, buying almost everything. Several restaurants across the street, although if you fancy choosing from a variety of restaurants, turn right from the hotel and walk near the marina: the night life seems to be here. Also, several taxis are parked here, yet I discovered the taxi drivers prefer to wait the whole day for a customer rather than reducing their 35 euros price to the airport. The alternative is to book a transfer with some UK company that works with a local Kos company you will discover they stop at some 10 hotels across the island on the way to the airport or take the local air conditioned bus not far from the hotel for roughly the same price of some 5 euros and go straight to the airport. Bear in mind, if you call from London, these local Kos transport companies, tell you want you want to hear, only to discover the reality is different when you call them from Kos to confirm everything. That is the Greek way' a lady told me when I was discussing several Greek behavior attitudes that we perceive as strange.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor, although even there the noise from the restaurant is too much!!!!
