A great apartment with everything you would need. The balcony with a stunning sea view was well used! The pool was well maintained we had it to ourselves for most of the week! Lovely quiet area yet you could walk to the nearby port with bars and restaurants or a 5 minute drive into Altea and Calpe. Our favourite place was the old town of Altea where we had several meals. Thanks Toni for the stay especially coming so quickly to our rescue when we locked ourselves out!!
The apartment has basic facilities that are adequate. It would benefit greatly from air conditioning. The temperature during the day was in the high 30's during our stay and it made for a most uncomfortable nights sleep. We used the fan that was provided and although we kept this on all night, every night we still found this insufficient to cool the bedroom sufficiently to allow comfortable sleep.
The apartment is peaceful, located in a relatively quiet position with light traffic on the adjacent road. The views from the balcony out over the cove and Mediterranean are what really sells this place. We enjoyed numerous evenings sat on the balcony just savouring the atmosphere. The local bars and restaurants at the marina are ok with good food but a bit pricey and the location lacks atmosphere. If you don't mind paying a bit more then the Segio Classico at the Marina has excellent service and also excellent food. (100euros, 2 course meal for 2 with bottle of wine and drinks). We found the short car trips to Calpe and Altea gave us more options and busy promenades with a bit more life and reasonable prices.
We were not impressed with the bar down in the cove. the Chinguirita Mascarat where the food was expensive and the the service poor, We ate there twice, lunch and dinner but found the staff less than welcoming.
The water in the cove is perfect for swimming and snorkelling but you need beach shoes to get into the water across the shingle and rocks. If you're offended by naked bodies don't go down to the cove as it is a naturist beach with numerous people taking advantage of the facility,There are two further more secluded coves within a short walk but where you'll probably have the stony beaches and water to yourself.
You need a car as the nearest supermarket is over a mile away.
Benidorm, Calpe and Altea (seafront and hilltop church) are all worth a visit. We enjoyed a fabulous drive inland through remote mountain villages and rural restaurant/bars which I would recommend. (Bollula, Tarbena, Castell de Castells, Benigembla)
The property would benefit from a new couch which is grubby and at least in need of reupholstering. The electric kettle is also in need of replacement due to build up of sediment.
