“Excellent, authentic food and the best cous cous in Spain.”
Reviewed 7 September 2013

Best cous cous there is! The service is also warm and personal. I have been going to Chez Pierre for years when in Altea, and I love how it is still just unpretentious home-cooking. It is a family run operation, and they really throw a lot of TLC into it.

Always personable and with a smile, the owner and his wife are delightful.

“Wouldn't go back!”
Reviewed 22 July 2012

This was one of a few restaurants on the front. Looked o.k.
We thought we would try it as one of us wanted paella and it was on the menu. When the paella arrived it was overcooked. They were not very sociable and I got the feeling they just wanted us to eat and go, as the wind was getting worse and the other restaurants were closing for the day! The food was nothing special and presentation was also poor! Give it a miss and try Chrystal de Altea which was the total opposite of this!

“Service fine, food poor but you get what you pay for”
Reviewed 17 February 2012

This is one of many restaurants on the front with outside tables and a seaview. Among other dishes it offers a tempting 'menu del dia' of two courses with bread and a glass of wine for only 10e (plus, in tiny writing, 7% IVA).

Service was professional but unfortunately the salad was over-dressed, the paella over-cooked and the flan watery.

A refill of the wine glass at 2e was generous but the final bill was spoilt with a sneaky extra 2e for the garlic dip which had come (unasked) with the bread.
