Villa Serena Agriturismo
Reviewed 24 August 2009

If the Veneto is the homeland of Umberto Bossi's Lega Nord, the Villa Serena in Montebelluna must be their unofficial mainstay. Run by a seemingly charming couple, the whole place itself is wired with CC-TV and guests are required to abide to their draconian regime. No bathing in the out-door pool without bath caps, curfew at 2 AM and no leaving the rooms the entire night (the hotel is equipped with movement sensors). In case of disobedience, "la Strega" and her blue-shirt wearing son will not hesitate to call the local carabinieri to enforce their sense of fascist order. Of course, when you pay the exaggerated bill for your window-less cell, you will be treated with a smile. But if you are looking for a place to reminiscent about the days spent in boarding school or want a taste of what it will be to live in a state-run old age home, this is your place. Otherwise, make a detour around those post-modern Fascisti.

(By the way, the Villa's interior design attests to the rule that bad manners usually come with bad taste.)

Good Morning! I am the owner of the Villa Serena and I want to clarify what was written to us by these Gentlemen who have been our guests for the wedding from Switzerland.
First noted that these Gentlemen before writing certain things had to inquire with the spouses of the arrangements made, including the time limit of the party until 2 am, when it is generally up to the 1 am. We were much more than elastic because some of them, despite our calls to end the party, and given that the couple had retired around 2 am, continued till 3.30 am, with the arrival of the police.
- The police were not called by us but by our neighbors, as 20 meters from Villa Serena live 4 families with a child of 6 months.
- Our House is protected by a video surveillance system in public areas and at night by a security system, as allowed by law. The notice of surveillance is clearly communicated to the entrance and in the interiors, so that if someone was annoying, because he did not feel free to do what he believed he could choose another facility.
- To ensure tranquility to our guests, you can wander around our house during the night;
- Someone in this review refers to a dinner / lunch, and access to the pool on the day of departure, but we, with the bride and groom, had planned a breakfast until 11am when it is being continued by us up at 11.30 and check - out at the latest at 12 because then we would have closed for holiday.
The pool was not accessible to Sunday morning, as it has not been possible to clean it at night for obvious reasons.
As disclosed in our website "Regulation for the use of the pool, to access the pool is required wearing a bath cup. Nothing that was not disclosed was requested
- We would like to announce that our Agriturismo is not a private home, but a public place, and like all public places must abide by the rules

- Per garantire tranquillità ai nostri ospiti, non è possibile girovagare per la nostra casa durante la notte fonda;

We were there for a wedding. Absolutely not friendly staff. Worst of it, Serena, the owner, probably chose the wrong profession by working in the tourism business. Please stay out of thehotel business.

The location looks nice, but we didn't feel at ease at all.

Do not go there unless you only want to sleep and look at the pool (you can not swim without a bathing cap and they even have a monitoring camera to monitor the guests). Jumping into the pool is also prohibited, so don't go there with kids.

RESPONSE TO THIS PARTICULAR REVIEW

- If our Staff is rude, unprofessional and not friendly, our House is not fully booked 5 on 7 days, all year around, with a waiting list in case of any cancellations!

-The pool is 1.50 m deep, that's why it's not possible to jump in.

We met all the staff of Agriturismo Villa Serena (we are the neighbours-we live in front of the Villa Serena), and we can guarantee the customers with courtesy, the high level of service and full respect of the social rules with all the neighbors. We believe that negative comments can only be the result of people who do not respect the land which they are guests! Juka with husband and 6-month son

the place would be great to celebrate a country wedding but the owners have almost ruined the party with their rude behavior! the whole hotel was excluisvely rented for the wedding party & we were forbidden to celerbrate after 2 a.m. even though there were no houses nearby ! we were treated like immature teenagers! the spacious pool is only accessible with a bathing cap & there is an sophisticated alarm and surveillance system that helps the anankastic owners to monitor their so called guests... we absolutely do not recommend this place!

We have been there for a wedding and the hotel was booked exklsively for the wedding group. I travelled quite a bit but this has been the unfriedliest place I have seen in my whole life. The owners have forbidden to guests to talk outside after 2 A.M quitely eventhoug there was a party going on in a house in the neighbourhood. The hosts even called the police (!!) to scar away people that have been taling at the pool. In the morning when it was planned for the group to have lunch and hang out at the pool the owners stated that the pool needs to be cleaned and can not be used...

Do not go there unless you only want to sleep and look at the pool (you can not swim without a bathing cap and they even have a monitoring camera to monitor the guests).
