22 of us booked for a long weekend , which with so many people dotted around we mostly convened at the Barn Owl which in my opinion was the best lodge.
We also did the Archery and Air Rifle which we all really enjoyed and Andy and Dave took good care of us even with our hangovers. I like a bit of fishing so it was good to sneak out for a few hours while everyone lazed around.
Look out we shall defiantly be back.

“What A Shambles”

Family member booked and paid for two cabins, one 3 bedroom, one 1 bedroom. I paid the booker £350 for the 1 bedroom, and this is my review .....
Cabin was semi detached and very small. Bedroom tiny, no wardrobe but a metal hanger and shelves, would guess Ikea. Kitchen area OK but had to ask for teapot and coffee maker, no dishwasher which was expected under a Luxury title. Bathroom was a wet room and not nice, no toilet roll holder, no lid for the toilet, toilet waste pipe and wash basin pipe exposed and outside door handle hanging off (later reported but never put right). Massive cobweb inside front door so had to duck every time to avoid.
Outside ...no picnic/leisure chairs just a wood picnic bench with tatty umbrella in middle but with no base so blew over when windy. No flower beds or pots anywhere on the whole estate but plenty of weeds, grass was cut but just left hiding sheep droppings that roam freely. Paving slabs not cemented in but just dropped onto grass which looked awful.
These properties are described as Luxury and Award Winning which is a complete joke, the latter claim being made up and very misleading as if you have awards you quote them as in ETB Rating, etc. The property had no welcome pack which is the norm for any self catering establishment (nearest supermarkets, chemists, walks, etc, etc). A Sauna and Hot Tub were available at a supplant of £6 per person for length of stay, these were situated in a tatty old shed and looked like a dog would even turn his nose up to use.
The owners employ an outside cleaning company so we were surprised to find the previous occupants towels still in the bathroom. I went to find a BBQ in the storage shed and was amazed to see a member of staff asleep on a settee, clearly he was embarrassed. We did not use the various activities (extra charge) as their location resembled a building site. They boast an honesty shop which appeared to open on somebody's whim. All in all the whole estate looks like a prisoner of war camp. How can these owners still get away with this and charge such exorbitant charges.....£350, if things had been Luxury and Award Winning we would have been happy to pay this. This market is huge with many professional Agencies offering thousands of properties at realistic prices, these are the people to book with, not some ex farmer who thinks he knows about self catering. Finally most people would expect WI Fi, but guess what !

Dear John,
Thank you for your review. As a family business, we are disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at here at Wall Eden Farm.
We apologise for any problem you experienced with one of our cabins. The cabin is brand new (finished in March 2014), with brand new furnishings throughout. Due to it being a 1 bedroom property we are unable to fit facilities such as Dishwashers (these are available in 2 of our larger cabins). Unfortunately we are unable to fit a toilet lid, as it would not meet the wheelchair accessibility guidelines we follow. We apologise for the door handle, I believe we offered to fix this problem, which was turned down by the occupants. We apologise for the tea pot not being in the cabin, we understand a member of staff brought a teapot to the cabin as soon as this was flagged up.
We strive to keep the farm tidy but still ‘farm like’ without tarmac etc, with the use of natural paths and wilderness areas to encourage wildlife. We have 3 friendly Jacob Sheep that roam the farm, we are sorry if they caused you any inconvenience during your stay, we do our best to sweep away any droppings.
We are sorry you did not find the cabins luxurious and did not enjoy the hot tub or sauna. We have won a number of awards, one of which being the UK Unique Holiday Experience. We apologise for there being a towel left in your bathroom, we will ensure that this is taken up with the cleaning staff.
We have opening hours for our office and shop, and provide emergency contact numbers for all hours. Our activities are based on the farm, and in and amongst the farm buildings, which for many adds to the great experience. Our Kayaking and Canoeing is based on the beautiful river Brue which runs though the farm.
Sometimes he is still a farmer, he often takes guests to see and feed the animals and to the vegetable garden. We have Wi-Fi available at reception free of charge, where there are seating areas available.
We feel the rate of £349.00 for a 3 night stay for self catering accommodation in August is extremely competitive and offers great value for money.
We are surprised by the review, as none of the above was discussed during the stay and staff had not been made aware of any problems with the cabins or grounds (only the door handle and teapot).
We are disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay, this is the first negative review we have received this year, and would like to point guests to our other reviews below and by typing ‘Wall Eden Farm’ into trip advisors search bar. We always strive to give the best holiday possible, each guest is extremely important to us as a family business, and ensuring a great stay is our number one priority.
Kind Regards
Wall Eden Farm

“Really comfortable and peaceful.”

I stayed for a week in Kingfisher with my 91 year old mother and my sister. It was great for Mum, who can't walk very far. The cabin was very comfortable and in a lovely position. The owners couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful.

“Really good for a civilised evening in the country”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Booked for a Friday night for my brother's stag do. I thought it best to be up-front with them regarding the nature of the event as stag events tend to be associated with a lot of noise and antisocial behaviour but they were very understanding and arranged for us to have 2 cabins next to each other near the river - Otters Bank and Kingfisher. Both cabins are pretty much identical and well-constructed. We had complimentary scones, cream & jam to make cream tea on our arrival which was a really nice touch. Whilst we weren't that rowdy, we didn't receive any complaints after playing cards and drinking games into the night so I'm assuming the cabins were sound-proof enough. The farm has its own shop selling local produce, which we took advantage of for breakfast, using the well-equipped kitchen in one of the cabins. The riverside was really tranquil and pleasant and they let us use their barbecue, which had been homemade from a used gas cylinder 'Scrapheap Challenge' style, which was a nice rustic touch. The farm have a few goats who wander around as they please but seem pretty chilled out. They also have alpaca in an enclosure, although we didn't bother them as they're quite shy creatures. The farm offer activities such as trout fishing, archery and kayaking so if we'd been there for the weekend rather than just the one night then we definitely would have taken advantage of these. The only negative was one of the twin mattresses in Kingfisher could do with replacing - it's got more wonky springs than a bag of drunken slinkies. I didn't find out until quite late at night so didn't report it but I'm sure the staff would have been helpful if I had as they were very friendly and welcoming on our arrival. All in all a great venue for a relaxing stay, would also be a good base to explore the local area as much-loved attractions like Wells, Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole aren't that far away by car.

I have been going to somerset on holliday for over 25 years and at least 3 times a year I have stayed in a variety of accommodation that I always though was good up until oct this year . My fiancé and her parents wanted a week away and looking on the net I discovered wall eden farm and it matched our requirements so I phoned up I spoke with andy he was extremely informative and helpful , I booked there and then .

On arrival on the Friday we saw our lodge "Dragon Fly" and we stepped in we were all amazed at how lovely and homely it was , The finish and attention to detail was really good and it was all lovely and clean , for me I find it hard sometimes to wind down to enjoy a holliday but within the hour it was home from home. I have to point out the web pictures do not do the lodges justice as they are far superior , our lodge appeared to cater for the disabled and could not help to notice the negative comment from a visitor which I do feel unjust as I have a disabled member of family and this lodge would be extremely easy to use there is a wet room shower it is spacious and easy to use and access is of plenty . I would certainly take that comment with a pinch of salt as I would totally recommend this site to disabled clients looking to visit and also the ability to access fishing as well of which my relative is a disabled angler .

The first morning we decided to venture out around the farm and were pleasantly surprised the site is very natural like a farm holliday in somerset should be lots of space apple trees in the orchard and at the back of the site a lovely river called the river brue meanders through and as a fisherman this was appealing. On site you will make friends with the local sheep they were friendly and are in no way a hinderance . we bumped in to andy and had a chat about the site and we had a brief walk around which was nice . There are some great things on site like the hot tub and sauna with the added benefit of a honesty shop ok its no asda and you certainly will not do a weekly shop its something for bits and bobs when you don't want to leave site however we had a local baker come visit on Tuesday with fresh bread etc which was really nice and reasonably priced .

All in all we had the one of the best times away and certainly for me with the amount of visits to this area it was probably my most memorable and booked up another stay for November.

I would like to say thanks to Andy and Kat for a lovely stay and look forward to seeing you in November.

Just returned from a weeks holiday. Very disappointed lead to believe disabled friendly this is not so yes there was a wet room but as for accessing lodges or any other facilities this was extremely difficult if not totally impossible. If you are a wheelchair user the site is not accessible. The extra activities were very untidy and expensive,as for Honesty Shop it was none existent we are still waiting for fresh eggs, local produce and fresh local meats -Very Hungry.... We all felt very sad that what was written on web site/brochure was not to be found once there. It's a shame as they have some wonderful natural gifts that are not utilised properly or made accessible to ALL. Have made my views know to owners who agreed that things had deteriorated and agreed they needed to make improvements.

We always strive to reach the highest standards and 99% of our customer feedback is extremely positive. Please see our other guest reviews.

The cabins are wheelchair accessible and is reflected by the high number of wheel chair users staying in our cabins and our relationship with holiday providers such as 'Can Do Holidays', as well as our repeat customers.

The areas outside the cabins are mostly flat and level, and suitable for wheelchair access. However large areas of the site are grass and are not accessible to wheelchairs during heavy periods of rain.

We also run a number of activities including Archery, Rifle Shooting, Cycle Hire, Pottery Painting and Fishing which the majority of guests love. We personally believe are activities are great fun and offer great value for money e.g. Archery £11 per person for 1 hour, Fishing is free to all guests and Cycle Hire is £10.00 per day.

We do our best to offer our guests the best possible stay and unfortunately this is the first negative review we have received.

Many Thanks
