This was something different to anything I've stayed in before and i wouldn't hesitate about coming back! The hut itself had everything you needed for a short stay with a lot of attention to detail - it was the little touches that made the stay so nice. The wood burner was charming and the bed was large and comfy with lots of pillow and comfy sheets. Sweet little touches like milk in the bucket and breakfast hamper in the morning made going to work Monday very painful indeed! Would definitely come back again!

“An amazingly lovely and an unusual place to stay”

I stayed for two nights in this lovely Shepherds hut. It is beautifully put together with a lovely big comfy bed. It has some lovely features - pretty curtains, bedding and cushions. Lots of windows and the cutest smallest log burner I've ever seen that warmed it up just nicely in the evening and early morning.

I stayed with two small dogs who had a great time as it is situated in a secure large garden.

The shower and toilet are just a stones throw away.

I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to stay somewhere different.

Liked best: It was very different - a bit like Glamping but in a a nice secluded space.
Liked least: Nothing much, you should not expect hotel standards but then again you wouldn't stay here if that's what you preferred.

“A cosy,homely place to stay”

I was looking forward to staying in the Shepherds Hut as it looked lovely on the photos. It exceeded my expectations. Sally the owner has really given a lot of attention to detail and its a real homely place to stay. The hut has a kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery for two. The bed was so comfy with high quality bed linen and a nice warm duvet. There is plenty of wood for the log burner to keep you warm.which we needed as it was early March when we stayed so still a.little chilly outside. There are instructions on where the local shop and pubs are located. The bathroom is a short walk across the field to the hut and the shower is a proper shower cubicle (I was expecting showers like on campsites) and the bathroom was very clean at all times.

We are hoping to return in the summer months for a few nights to get full benefit of the views the bbq and the fire pit. Thankyou Sally for making us welcome.

“Weekend Break - 5 stars!”

My partner and I stayed in this lovely Shepherds hut for two days as a weekend get away to the country. We both agreed that Sally deserves 5 starts for our break.

The location is easy to find. There are plenty of interesting places near-by, although we would recommend that they mainly need a car to access. We went to Burnham-on-sea for an excellent firework display, Wells isn't far away which had a lovely cathedral, and we stopped by Cheddar as-well which has some great scenery.

As for the hut, it was the second we have stayed in, they are such a great concept and Sally had done a fantastic job of making this one really cosy. All round she was a fantastic host with great recommendations and made the weekend dead easy. Would highly recommend.

“My little girl was in tears on the morning we left, she didn't want to leave we so loved it!”
Reviewed 9 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Wow! My 8 year old and I have just had an amazing week, a whole field to ourselves, and a cosy shepherds hut. We saw dragon flies dancing in the morning sun, and bats in the evening, not to mention hearing the owls at night. With the BBQ and log burner going we sat with the fairy lights twinkling well into the evening, such a calm and relaxing atmosphere. There is only a BBQ as cooking facilities, oh and the toaster, but we didn't need any more. We just enjoyed it for what it is, a shepherds hut in a field. Needless to say my daughter so loved it she woke up crying on the last morning as she didn't want to leave. We are already planning our next visit, and it can't come soon enough :-)

You could see the amount of effort and detail which has gone into Shepards Hut. My boyfriend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Sally was very thoughtful by providing us with milk ad had already lit the log burner so it was very warm when we arrived. Would definatly visit again. It's a treat worth investigating!

“Cosy Country Retreat”

We had a lovely three night stay in the Shepherd's Hut! The weather was quite windy and rainy so we got to use the cosy wood burner - plenty of logs and kindling were provided. The hut was very quiet and secluded but within a short drive of some great places to visit. We had sole use of the bathroom facilities in the potting shed, including a nice hot shower. Everything we needed was provided in the hut - warm bedding, towels, plates and cutlery, tea making facilities and fresh milk, even a torch and some candles. There are electric sockets too which was a great bonus! If it had been warmer we could have had a barbecue and enjoyed some of the outdoor seating. Instead, Sally recommended some great pubs nearby for dinner. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet countryside break, and we would definitely stay here again - I'd love to see what it's like in the Summer.
