“Tim's house is comfortable, well equipped, spacious with a charming location and is tastefully rustic inside.”
Reviewed 1 July 2018 for a stay in June 2018

We stayed here for 9 nights last June, loved the house, location and facilities, so we left with a taste of "not enough".
This year we had 14 nights and loved it even more. The weather was unpredictable with at times storms and heavy rain which is unusual, but the house is spacious unlike a studio so we had room to read, paint and draw in comfort until the sun came out again.
Tim always responds to any issues quickly and Judy helps always with a smile, nothing was too much trouble.
The beaches are amazing, Taverna's offered delightful meals and a really good supermarket is within easy walking distance. The patio is a charming place to sit, eat or enjoy a sea view with a cold beer or a glass of wine. So we think Tim's house offers a little touch of paradise.
Last but not least, two little kittens and their devoted mummy entertained us every day.
All we can say is it was hard to leave although we have photo's and memories to keep.
The house is unique.

Thank you Tim and Judy.

“Wonderfull stay !”
Reviewed 22 June 2018 for a stay in June 2018

The villa Kazantsakis is very clean and cosy and beautifuly decorated.
The little house is very close to the seaside and beaches but also very secluded situated in a very flowery garden and you can sit on the patio and have all the privacy of the world.
The kitchen has everthing you need and shops are very close.
The music instalation is a really nice extra!

“Super secluded holiday hideaway”

We recently spent a very enjoyable two weeks at Villa Kazantzakis.. The location away from the apartments, holiday lets and general bustle of Stoupa was a bonus for us...yet within easy reach when we wanted it. We can recommend Tim's 'meandering' walk through the olive groves to Kalogria beach..en route you can can climb down to rocky outcrops for a swim if you really want seclusion (well in late September anyway)..A pedalo ride into the Turkish Cave (between Kalogria and Stoupa) was remarkable...crystal clear water in an atmospheric setting. We were not greatly enamoured with the loungers clogging up both Stoupa and Kalogria beaches. The coast path to Agios Nikolaos for lunch has beautiful views and good tavernas at the harbour. Doufexis Travel in Stoupa is the place to go for local guides and booking trips. We went on the boat trip down to the Diros Caves...awesome is the best comment here..bit assembly belt like but worth it for those fabulous underground scenes. As we were near the end of the season there was not the full complement of trips to choose from but we went on the Mystras one ..fairly long journey but fantastic scenery through the Taygetos mountains. Mary, our guide, was perfect..very professional, knowledgeable and likeable...bit of a hike to the top of the acropolis ..however what a view over the plains to Sparta and beyond. The villa itself was perfect for the two of us, we could play music outside and have wifi too. We ate in of an evening more than going out after the first few days as it was so relaxing on the terrace with the moggies for company (Mother cat had given birth to 4 kitties about the time we arrived so we made sure she was fed as she was feeding them..you can buy loose cat food at the supermarkets).. Typical Greece, cats appearing everywhere, especially at restaurant tables. Walking back from local restaurants along the main road of a dark evening was adventurous and definitely needs a torch. At the villa we saw gekkos, lizards, praying mantis, unidentified bugs plus after a storm one evening large black squeaking beetles ...fascinating. All in all the villa provided us with everything we needed for a relaxing couple of weeks...also thank you to Steve who collected us on arrival at Kalamata airport and took us back on departure.. a mine of local information (and cheap at the price!)....Nice place Tim :)

“Brilliant Secluded Location”

Tim's little place is an amazing place to stay. We spent 10 days here in the height of August so the air con was incredibly welcome. We loved the privacy and yet easy access to shops and restaurants. The recently added slow cooker was a godsend. Pop down to the butchers at the bottom of the lane, get a bit of goat add lemon juice, oil, garlic, oregano and a dash of water leave on high for 5-6 hours and enjoy. The kittens were our evening entertainment especially when provided with ball on a string. Please feed them when you visit even if like me you are "not a cat person". We will be returning albeit at a cooler time of year. Tim was incredibly responsive and helpful when we had issues with connecting to the internet and Judy is always on hand for local issues and transfers.

Many thanks Aggie. I will add your recipe to the house manual and try it next time I am there! I am especially keen to keep the nearby butchers in business.

You are most welcome to revisit. As ever, I have a few little improvements planned for next year....

Regards,

Tim.

The house is much better equipped than your usual holiday rental and you can tell it is a much loved home. The setting is delightful ,nestling in an olive grove, within easy walking distance of beaches, shops and tavernas. We loved it and will be back!

“a perfect holiday get away”

We loved our 2 weeks here. Wanted to experience more the living than holiday way of life as we were in Stoupa looking for a property for us to live in next year permanently, we love Stoupa that much.
This villa was perfect, far enough away to feel private and chilled out but easy walking distance into Stoupa and Kalogria. Very well equipped, we had lovely meals on the patio by candlelight with the kittens playing at our feet. The cat family really are adorable and i beg any following guests to feed them, they aren't a nuisance at all.
I would recommend some transport though if only for going to supermarkets and disposing of rubbish. There are some beautiful mountain villages in the area with lovely tavernas and it would be a shame to miss them. We had a scooter from Steki motors (less than 20 euros a day (ask at Stekis on the beach) and a car for 1 day from the wonderful Maria at Mani cars, do go and see her if you want to hire a car.
Judy who collects you from the airport if needed is lovely and a source of lots of info. All in all a completely stressfree holiday from booking to getting home and it has given us a real taste of what our new adventure will be like.

Thanks Karen and Steve and a big thank you for passing on your tips to future guests.

Good luck in finding somewhere permanent there - remember the things you liked about my little place and don't compromise as much as the salespeople would have you do!

Tim.

“cosy well equipped house in a perfect locatiuon.”
Reviewed 2 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Location perfect for beautiful beaches, tavernas, supermarkets but in a peaceful location in it's own olive grove. The house has everything that is needed for a holiday in comfort, but with a tasteful ethnic feel which makes it so interesting. The visiting cats and kittens are a delight and very entertaining, not intrusive at all.
The owner Tim, responded quickly to any question we asked and we were certainly made very welcome. Fans, air-con, shower, kitchen and living room great, and the most comfortable bed and pillows we have ever had on a holiday.
It was a superb place to stay and we look forward to returning next year.
Thank you Tim, Judy and Steve.

Thank you so much for your kind review. You were great guests and we certainly look forward to welcoming you again. I love the place too but never content to rest on my laurels, I have a list of maintenance and improvements to make in the winter so hopefully the house will be just that bit better on your next visit!

Kind regards,

Tim.
