This is a pretty nice hotel, the restaurant is on the beach side and the beach is long enough for the number of people in this hotel. from the left of the beach you can reach a tiny and private one :). Food is good, overall service for all incluse as well. You can get a massage on the beach which is very good as you get see, sound, sea, sun, and happyness.
Only 1 thing bad, they cut sometime the shower water

We went for Easter with our adult kids and stayed in the beach bungalows - do stay in these if you can - amazing view of the beach and sea and your own sun bed deck outside your door. You can't fly direct to Guadeloupe but need to go via Paris but even so I recommend it. We walked to Grand Anse beach along La Perle beach (accessible on foot through a forest above the resort's beach) where they film much of Death in Paradise, we rode horses and took them swimming in the sea (http://www.ranch-2-ilets.ffe.com). La Perle has a beach restaurant called La Paillote de la Perle with the best grilled fish I have ever had.

There is tons to do at the resort, kayaking, windsurfing, tennis, pool and table football as well as swimming and lounging in the sun. We were B and B for the 2/3 of week and added the buffet dinner for the last 3 days and had really good food. We didn't want to come home!

We live on Guadeloupe so we've stayed and at Fort Royal a number of times as well as visited the beach for the day. We are a family with small children and they all love the place.

The swimming pool is almost always empty, and does really need a bit of updating, but it's big enough for our kids to splash around without bothering other adult guests. The hotel building has excellent views of the the sea on both sides and you can go to sleep with the sound of waves. The bungalows are also nice, a bit of a village feel, but we prefer the main hotel building for views and sounds of the beach. The food in the restaurant at lunchtime is superb, the buffet as good as any buffet can be, and pizzas at the beach bar are great.

The beach itself is OK, it looks like it's being washed away but there's enough of it and so much of it that you can find some space for yourself - unlike other beaches on Guadeloupe. The water is good for swimming, but over the winter it can be quite wavy which makes getting in and out precarious. Our children love playing at the far end of the beach with the rocks or going to the swimming pool, but the last time we visited the swell was too big for us all to swim safely.

The hotel isn't massively luxurious, but we love coming here because there's so much space and it's relaxed. The staff have always been friendly to us, although some of the Swedes are obviously here for their own holiday experience, but it's quite amusing visiting a bit of Sweden in the French Caribbean. I'd say this is the best place to stay on Guadeloupe if you like quiet, tranquility and a beautiful teal sea.

Room tip: Even if you don't like the idea of staying in a big hotel block, stay here if you want to guarantee hearing the sounds of the beach as you go to sleep

Visited on a tour with a whole bunch of friends. This used to be the old club med and is being redone and worth the detour. Some rooms are better than others but with the waves breaking all around you. You are sure to get a great sleep.
yhe buffet Breakfast and Dinner are great and plenty to chose from.

Me and my wife spent two weeks in a ocean-view bungalow over christmas and new years -14/-15.

First night we arrived late was bunkered into a bungalow with no ocean-view as per booking, rather it was facing the parking and backside of the kitchen. After complaints we were next day moved to a room further up which did have a ocean-view from the terrace but not the room...?
Both rooms inhabited roaches. We're not over-sensitive to bugs but I've actually not personally ever witnessed roaches in hotel rooms in many years even though staying on beach huts wo electricity in south america lousy hotels in Asia etc. So for a hotel that seems to have the ambition to be a luxury resort it just doesn't match. to my knowledge roaches are a directly related to cleaning.

Food was without any large imagination so we ate mostly in other places reachable with rental car. (I recommend others to rent a car for the whole stay picking it up and leaving it at the airport)
We had included breakfast in our rate, which we liked (probably as it was scandinavian style and we're scandinavians).
The Grand-Anse beach just a few km south was the nicest beach we found across the islands.

Regarding service, we were adressed nicely by all personnel but can only conclude that service is far from the level a hotel in this price range should be, Swedish seasonal workers would need significant training if they're not to be supported by local or professional personnel at this type of location. If your 30 x 20-year-olds wo training this is what comes out of it. But as this is not a high-class resort I guess it was acceptable however annoying. An example is internet access, we kind of made a point of reverting to the front desk as they everyday told us that internet to our room would be fixed. After ten times (ten days) we didn't bother any longer. At a proper hotel there would of course have been a message in the room after the first day saying, sorry we just can't fix internet, sorry, have a free drink in the bar or whatever as compensation. Instead continuous promises of internet that i guess both we and the reception ladies new would not have been fulfilled. I can also agree to previous reviewers that it was a bit annoying when during meals, plates, glasses are being almost pulled out of your hands by personnel more focused on their own appearance than making sure not to disturb vacating guests.
So service not too good, but there were other things that made us enjoy our vacation greatly, good tenniscourts, with available trainer, great beach, always beach chairs available, lots of things to do on the beach, nice trekking routes around. We lacked an indoor gym for the hottest days though. An outdoor gym would have been good as well, my opinion is that it would suit the category of guests quite well.

Nice activities going on with live music a few nights.

In general we enjoyed the stay a lot.
Before travelling we read many of the good reviews here good and bad to which i mostly concur. It's a hotel in a nice location, not as per luxury standard but absolutely a great place to spend a vacation.
We could definitely consider returning.

Room tip: Beachfront bungalows looked great.
