“Beautiful location and an excellent standard”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2013

Personally I would say Pefkos blue is the best place to stay in Pefkos and quite possibly Rhodes in general. As mentioned by so many visitors the view is breathtaking and for us was worth every penny. But to mention that alone would do an injustice to these beautiful apartments. We chose a superior apartment which was spacious with pleasant furnishings, a bath and shower. A flat screen TV was also provided although we didn't really use it. All the rooms in the property have a lovely balcony with a seaview, although the upper floor apartments have a slighly better elevated view. The gardens are lush and colourful with the gardener there every evening keeping them in great condition. The swimming pool is a good size and cleaned and treated every evening. The view from the pool looks out across Pefkos and the sea and I could not think of anywhere better to spend days sunbathing if that is your thing. The bar and restaurant area is nicely set out and feels particularly tranquil in the evening when the tables are set and you can take in the evening view of Pefkos and the changing light. The two brothers Kostas and Stefanos are two really quiet, well mannered young men who provide a polite, friendly and good quality service whilst letting you go about your holiday without getting too involved with any groups or individuals. From a personal point of view I found this perfect as everyone was treated extremely well without any customers being more favoured than others. We had a couple of little unexpected problems with the toilet and the air conditioning and they were resolved within hours of being reported without any fuss.

The cleanliness of the property is excellent as was the quality of the food. The prices were competive with bars and tavernas in town and if you were not already staying here it is a place you would have been delighted to find for a romantic evening with the best view in Pefkos.
We booked our holiday via the Pefkos Blue website and the benefit of this is that air conditioning and breakfast are included, whilst the AC can cost 10 Euros a day if you book via a holiday company. The breakfast would also cost 7.90 Euros per day.

Because of the location the hill is a climb which you could not even consider with health problems or if you are the slightest bit unfit.Walking down is quite manageable but we used a taxi based at the bottom of the hill on our return from town at a cost of 4 or sometimes 5 Euros. However because the accommodation was so nice we spent many days and evenings in the complex and probably used the taxis about eight times costing 40 Euros. I would suggest to anyone that it is wise to factor this cost into your budget rather than tackle cardiac hill. We did consult some other guests who had tackled it and everyone without exception had found it challenging.

With regard to Pefkos town. There are are plenty of good quality restaurants and bars, our favourites being Kyma by the beach and Dama Dama. The bar simply called the PUB is a good atmospheric night where the owner Michaelis and his assistant Nikos make everyone welcome and provide an efficient drinks table service until the early hours. They have engaged a really nice British couple named Steve and Fiona to run a quiz night every Tuesday and Friday which is great fun. Michaelis also endorses a great day out/excursion taking in the best of Rhodes whilst spending no more than 20 minutes on the coach between stop offs. It was only 14 Euros per person and far more interesting and better value than the tour operator excursions.
Pefkos is a resort you cannot help but love and when we return Pefkos Blue will always be our first choice if available. Thanks again to Kostas and Stefanos for providing this piece of heaven for our holiday.

Room Tip: Second and third floor rooms have a more elevated seaview

Just returned from Dimitris (now known as Pefkos Blue), what a fab week we had. We arrived about midnight and although it looked lovely all lit up we didn't appreciate it until first light, it was even better. The well tendered gardens, the lovely pool and the very smart and comfy bar area looked so inviting, and that view!!!
Although our room was basic it was quite spacious and in good working order, I slept like a log in my comfy bed, it was very peaceful and pleasantly cool, even though it was 30deg outside.
The bathroom was roomy and spotless, plenty of hot water, we had a bath with wall mounted shower head blasted out water, not the usual dribble, the towels were changed every other day.
We ate in the hotel a few times, the breakfast was beautifully presented and the evening meal was top quality, and reasonably priced, it would have been easy to have all out meals in the hotel but we did venture down to the strip.
The restaurants in Pefkos were of a high standard in our opinion, the competition allows them to try harder and we were impressed with the quality and presentation. and we usually finished the night in the 'Rock Bar' at the junction near to the Chinese, I enjoyed the music, my partner enjoyed the cocktails...... The only down side was the hill, after said cocktails but it only took 10 mins at most, we never got a taxi.
I would recommend Pefkos Blue if you are looking for a top quality, relaxing, friendly accommodation with stunning views and lovely pool and bar, talk about chilled out....
PS, we had room 103 on the ground floor, the hotel does have cats and they will visit, especially the kitten who we fell in love with and wanted to pack him in the suit case:-)
I hope this review is helpful, everyone has their own opinion but I am confident you will enjoy your stay here, what a gem.

This was our first trip to Rhodes and we did our research on resorts and self catering studios through trip advisor. We were not disappointed as the studios were brilliant. The accommodation was excellent and couldn't fault anything. The views were to die for and the two brothers who owned the studios were very pleasant and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The club sandwich is a great mid day snack for two and the overall prices are very reasonable. Regarding the notorious cardiac hill, it is not as bad as previous reviews make out. We managed to do it the whole 2 weeks without a taxi , thus saving a load of euros ! One restaurant we would really recommend is Dama Dama a family run eating place, with a great welcome, great food and traditional greek food. If you need a good chillin out, people watchin place, the Rock Bar [ near the Chinese ] is the place to go, crackin cocktails and brill music.

Apart from the hill, this was a fantastic hotel. Rooms were very clean and spacious with sheets and towels changed regular. No problem with sunbeds, although some folk set alarm so they could get the best ones, very sad!!! Two brothers run this hotel and both are very friendly, and basically leave you alone to relax. All in all this is a very peaceful hotel and would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms in middle apartments.

Pound for pound you won't find anything better. Only not suitable if you have difficulty walking as it is at the top of a hill, albeit that said for a few euros you can easily get a taxi.
I am the fussiest person ever and this is a great place to stay.

Stayed here with friends a few weeks ago and we had the perfect relaxing holiday we were after. The hotel has beautiful gardens and a large clean pool with lots of sunbeds and an amazing view. The hill walk to the hotel is hard work but it's worth it to get that view and get away from the hussle and bussle of the town. There are some lovely restaurants in Pefkos and Lindos is a short cab ride away. The rooms are pretty basic and lacking those little extra luxuries that you get at fancier places, however you have all the important things you need and they are spacious and very clean.

Just returned from a weeks self catering holiday, staying at the Dimitris Apartments (also now called Pefkos Blue), and the apartments, staff, and location lived up to all the great reviews already on this site.

All the staff were welcoming and always pleasant, the 2 brothers Stefanos and Costos (apologies if spelt wrong) were always helpful but were not pushy in anyway, they gave you your own space to enjoy the holiday, maid service was good and the food was very nice in particular the homemade burgers, which was one of the nicest I've had anywhere.

The hill is a bit of a killer, especially walking back up after a nice meal and a few drinks, but a taxi was only 4-5 euros if you didn't fancy the walk.

We had room 102 on the ground floor, literally 4 steps away from the pool, the room was very spacious, with lovely beds, a bath and shower and some self catering facilities, my only gripe would be that the self catering facilities could have been better, but we rustled up breakfast and lunch most days so not that bad really, for a family with children though it may have been difficult, and the whole hotel was so quiet in the evenings, we never had a disturbed nights sleep, heaven.

The pool was clean as were the sun loungers, and no rush for towels on the beds either which was a lovely change from other holidays.

Pefkos itself is a small town but it has some lovely restaurants in particular Dama Dama and Nostalgia, and the prices were very reasonable, the Palm cocktail bar attached to the Nostalgia was also a lovely place to have a relaxing drink.

Lindos and the Acropolis is a must visit place and was only 8 euros by taxi to Lindos square, and the walk to the acropolis through the narrow streets and shops was lovely.

All in all this is a place we would definitely go back to, for the views, comfort, surroundings and restfulness of such a lovely setting and place.
