“Wonderful Small Hotel and Apartments”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 March 2014

We stayed at the Amfitriti Hotel in October 2013, our second stay in Rhodes in October, but the first time at the Amfitriti .We arrived about 1am, due to the location, the the coach is unable to negioate the narrow road that leads down to it so the owner transports guests from the square in a matter of minutes in his own car, and again on their departure. Check in was very smooth and we were shown to our room in minutes. Even though it was early hours they had kept the bar open for arriving guests that wanted to have a drink and sit for a while after their journey, the bar is within the terrace area by the pool. It is a wonderful small hotel and apartments. It has a lovely atmosphere. We stayed bed and breakfast. The breakfast was a buffet affair set on the terrace, the usual array of cereals, yogurt meats and cheese, bread and a toaster. We don't usually like the continental breakfast and usually opt for a cooked version, but this was lovely and we enjoyed it every morning.A full English breakfast together with other options was available and cooked to order for a reasonable price, which a lot of guests did have. A coffee or tea machine to help yourself and it was very nice coffee. There was a covered section and comfy seating as well all set within the terrace, by the pool. With the sea to the right it was a lovely start to the day. Because we were bed and breakfast we had a room rather than apartments, it had a fridge in it, tea and coffee making facilities and a safe inside the wardrobe. There was enough room and storage space, a small shower and toilet and a balcony that we were lucky to have a sea facing room. Air conditioning was optional and although we had had it on our previous stay the October before the weather was cooler so we didn't need it. The Amfitriti had plenty of comfy sunbeds and parasols, the first few days of our stay Rhodes had freak weather and gale winds making using the beach impossible, the pool area was sheltered and I imagine in the heat of the full Rhodes sun would be very hot,as the whole area gets the full sun. We ate lunchtime twice at the terrace bar and again the food was lovely, we went out in the evenings but we saw a lot of guests eating their evening meal there. The Amfitriti is a short walk to the centre (5 mins) and the many bars and restaurants, and also near the beach, it is quiet and peaceful but very central. The owners are always looking after the guests and the place is spotless. There were a lot of repeat guests there. We had another wonderful stay in Pefkos and would love to return to the lovely Amfitriti. We had seen a couple of reviews stating that when the small red Flyers plane takes off the pool area is covered in dust, although the pool and terrace area is indeed at the end of the runway!!! It was more of a novel thing watching the plane take off and land, even though we had for the first few days gale winds, when the weather settled down and the plane started to make the take off and landings we were not covered in clouds of dust and neither was our breakfast that we were eating, I realise that everybody's experience is different, but despite the wind being in our direction and the plane making several journeys a day we didn't experience the dust that other reviews had spoken about. We enjoyed eating out every evening and ate in a different restaurant every night, and not one that we had been to the year before!!! There are still some left for us to try on our October trip this year, but as this review is about the Amfitriti there are too many lovely restaurants and bars to mention. Pefkos is a wonderful place to spend a relaxing holiday and if doing nothing is your thing or siteseeing is your preference, you would not be dissapointed if you visited Pefkos. For us the doing nothing is our thing and the wonderful Amfitriti ticked all the box's

Room Tip: The double sea facing rooms get full sun all day, the apartments are set around small courtyards

Following a disappointing and stressful 1st trip abroad with a 4 and 1 year old in 1994 we were looking for something special to restore our confidence. This hotel was everything we hoped for and more. Perfect positioned, a few minutes walk from the beach, shops, bars etc yet relaxing and friendly and quiet. Rooms were basic, but perfectly adequate for the time we spent in them. Air conditional was expensive especially as with now teenage and near teenage children we needed 2 rooms, but neccessary in August. However it wouldn't deter us from going again. The owners, children and staff were friendly and approachable and made us feel welcome. Weather was perfect (late 30's) just what we were hoping for following many years of cold, wet uk holidays! I have read previous reviews and yes whilst we were there was a group of regulars, however contrary to these reviews we were made to feel welcome and included amongst the staff and regulars and were frequently entertained by the poolside antics. Greek night dunking in particular!! We will return.

This was our first time in Pefkos and we are glad we picked this hotel. Excellent quiet location, very handy for beach and restaurants. Accommodation very clean as well as all other areas. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Only things we felt were there were no drawers to store clothes in and no towel rails in the bathroom, although there were a couple of hooks but apart from that everything was excellent.

My wife and I returned to the Amfritriti with our daughter Molly for the third time. The weather was once again fantastic, ranging from 32 to 44 degrees ideal weather for lounging about around and in the pool.
The family who own and run the hotel have each year added to the overall appeal and ambience.
I cannot help but feel sorry for those holidaymakers paying to stay up in the hills of Lindos when there is an absolute gem of a hotel nestling in Pefkos which offers everything that me and my family (and the friends we've met and made on previous visits, all of whom return the same time each year) require.
Those of us who returned again this year have already booked to return next year that how good The Amfritriti is.

We've just come home from a lovely relaxing week staying at the Amfitriti Apartments, in Pefkos, Rhodes. The complex is really friendly, spotlessly clean and very well situated - just a short walk up to the main road in Pefkos where all the bars and restaurants are, an even shorter walk down to the lovely beach, and only a few minutes' walk from "Maria's" supermarket which stocks all the basics. The hotel is situated on a quiet beach road, which is not accessible by coach, so on arrival at resort you get picked up by the Amfitriti's owner at a crossroads on the main road, just a couple of minutes' drive - this is not a problem at all, and you get a lift back up to get the return coach for the airport. We opted for bed and breakfast which was quite adequate - continental style, plenty of fresh fruit, sliced ham, cheeses, bread and a toast making machine, yoghurt, jams, tea and coffee. juices etc. We only ate one meal at the hotel, but it was lovely, and reasonably priced, the menu caters for all tastes, plus children's choices. I thought 55 euros a week for air con was reasonable as many other hotels charge 70-80. There are safety deposit boxes in the rooms which you can hire at an extra charge plus deposit which you get back when you hand your keys in. I would recommend this hotel if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing and laid back stay, with the option of walking into town to choose from the huge variety of restaurants and bars, none of which are the "party" sort, perfect for families and couples. Lindos is also just a short bus ride away at 1.60 euros a go - although we would suggest going early in the morning to visit the Acropolis and avoid the coach parties, or early evening when it's cooler and less busy if you want a roof-top dining experience and you can wander through the cobbled streets afterwards looking for a bargain - a "must do". We fully intend returning to the Amfitriti in the next year or two, as the family that owns the hotel, plus all the staff were faultless, very helpful and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.

Room Tip: It seems as though the rooms for bed and breakfast guests are slightly smaller as they do not have a...

We have been to Pefkos on a number of occasions but wanted to stay somewhere slightly off the beaten track and a little quieter, Amfitriti was recommended by a friend, amazing, clean well kept rooms, beautiful pool, sun beds always available, the bar has a very good menu and the food is mouthwatering, the staff are very friendly and attentive. This hotel has exceeded our expectations, we have one more week here and will most definitely be coming back.

We stayed at the Amfitriti for 2 weeks in August. This was our first time here. Our self catering studio was spotlessly clean, comfortable and spacious. There was plenty of storage space and a powerful shower. Our room was on the first floor and had beautiful countryside views which could be enjoyed from the private balcony. We were very pleased that we had not been given a ground floor room as these had terraces which were quite open and did not offer much privacy. The air con was quite expensive at 9 euros per day, although essential in August. We used the safety deposit box in the room, although we considered this quite expensive at 20 euros per week, on top of which there was a refundable key deposit of 15 euros. The pool/bar area was lovely, very clean and with plenty of sun loungers. The beach at Pefkos was very busy so we preferred to relax by the pool at Amfitriti. We have been to several Greek Islands before and normally pick quiet resorts. We found Pefkos in August a little too busy for us personally. There are a lot of restaurants, bars etc. On the whole restaurant prices were cheaper here than we have found in other Greek Islands. Roumeli No 4 was very good. It offers 3 courses for 8.90 Euros which was incredible value, excellent choice and lovely food. We hired a car for 6 days and saw a lot of the island and discovered some lovely quieter beaches. We had a great holiday and would definitely recommend the Amfitiriti.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms have balconies offering more privacy and lovely views.
