“Eleni, a Gem in paradise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 December 2013

I holidayed at the Eleni Apts this year in July, normally i do go later in the season but was surprised at how quiet it was, accommodation is what you expect in Greece, very basic. The Owner and his wife are great hosts. The on site Restaurant serves up wonderful Greek cuisine and i enjoyed their meals so much i ate there every single night of my 2 week stay. The rooms are very clean and the views from my Patio at No 10 was brilliant. Martin the Barman/chef was very attentive and we would have long chats about life and the universe !!. The Eleni is only a short stroll from the centre of Pefkos where there are more bars and places to eat, chinese to Indian to local Greek food you are not spoiled for choice, I enjoyed my stay that much that i have already booked for August 2014 for 3 weeks at the Eleni, cant wait.

Arrived for a week at Elenis on 5th October, we were the last drop on the transfer so took 2 hours but decided this completed the tour of Rhodes. Weather was at night after some storms but each day it got warmer in the day and night. We were in room 11 and we had a great patio area with chairs and a light to watch the sun go down. The rooms are basic but very clean and bathroom while compact was very clean and water pressure was great. We had a kitchen with good fridge and kettle and a ring if you wanted to cook, but we always eat out other than coffee for breakfast. Elenis is in a quieter part of Pefkos with fantastic views over the bay and a short walk to town and beach which was uphill on way back to studios. We had a great local beach ‘Kavos’ which had a good tavern and was excellent for swimming and snorkelling. They had a really large and very clean pool with lots of comfy sunbeds and the supermarket and restaurant to provide all the supplies you may need, they also did a great value breakfast. There are loads of restaurants down the road in Pefkos and the one on site. Outside the hotel there is bus stop for trip to Lindos but we hired a scooter. Lindos is very pretty but really full of tourist buses and we felt that Pefkos gave the best accommodation with lots of choice of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back again.

Room Tip: Storage is limited so don't overpack

ON first arrival we thought what have we done, but the place grows on you very quickly. Firstly the rooms although on the small side were spotless, the shower was fantastic with good pressure hot water and a hook to hang the shower head on. Now those who frequent Greece know that is somewhat a luxury, the rooms were cleaned daily except Sunday, the pool was clean and the surrounding area the same.
What makes this rather special is the quiet during the day and at night, the occasional bus going past and that was virtually it.
The taverna that adjoins is owned by the family and serves first class food, the chef being Indian and can also do brilliant curries, good service in a peaceful atmosphere.
There is a supermarket next to the restaurant which is also family run and supplies most of the everyday needs.
That all said there is always a trade off quietness for ease of access/location, the main part of Pefkos is a gentle 15 minute stroll, not that it sets the world on fire it has a good mix of bars/taverna's etc. The view from the rooms at the front was superb!!
All in all an excellent stay and we will return again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week at Elenis. Basic rooms but very clean and staff extremely helpful and polite. In a quieter part of Pefkos but a short walk to town and beach which was uphill on way back to studios. Clean pool with plenty of comfy sunbeds . Loads of restaurants near and close to bus stop for trip to Lindos which is a lovely town with fab beaches. Fab holiday overall.

We used the pool facilities and ate here at lunchtimes most days. We did eat one evening (Monday) and sampled the entertainment. Staff very helpful and accommodating, pool exceptionally clean and sun beds always available. We stayed 5 minutes walk away but they accommodation does look nice, and people seem to come back year after year. Our accommodation (Lia Studios, next to Finas) was very good also but it was great to be able to use the excellent facilities at Eleni every day

We stayed a week in a one bedroom apartment. The cooking facilities are limited although we never used them. There were 2 beds in one room and another 2 in the living area, storage is limited, one wardrobe for 4 of us.Our view was amazing looking over the pool and other areas with a stunning view of Pefkos and the surrounding areas.
The pool was great with plenty of sun beds and a lovely in pool seating area so you could relax and cool off, there is a bar/snack bar next to the pool, shaded area if you wish.
The staff are friendly along with the ex pats who often visit.
There is a supermarket next door which sells everything, plus you can hire fans here for 15 euros per week along with the air con at 50 euros, which you will need.
You are not allowed to eat snacks etc around the pool unless bought from the bar, strange I thought as the shop is run by the same family. Its about a 10 minute walk into the main town but worth a visit.
Entertainment on a Monday night at the Eleni by a Neil Diamond tribute act who was great.
An enjoyable stay well recommended if you want a relaxing easy going break with lovely food, away from the busy resorts.

We recently returned from Pefkos and the Eleni studio apartments,

We arrived early hours of the morning was took to the door by the rep, the rooms were very very clean and although basic had everything you needed while you were there, there was fresh sheets and towels on the bed everyday. The pool area was very clean and the water was beautiful, there was always beds avalible as there was only 10 apartments, the bar was great to relax but i feel the drinks were slightly overpriced, the food served was nice and the bar staff was very friendly and helpful.

They had a supermarket and tervana onsite, the tervana served really nice food at a good price and the supermarket had a whole range of goods at ok prices (most of them) the air conditioning was €55 for the week (which you NEED!) and the safe was €15 for the week but we didnt need that as we took our money with us, the staff at eleni were always smiling and helpful and very hardworking, the other guests were chatty although some were very ignorent and didnt smile or talk to you considering its a cosy complex, the only slight downside was that the Eleni was a bit out the way from the main strip of bars, clubs and shops but even though it was a 10-15 minute walk from town it was the heat thats a killer 45'c at times!!
All in all we found the eleni a fantastic place to stay and would highly recommend it to anyone but mainly couples, would be returning again!
