I have just got back from a 10 day stay at Thalia and I feel I must write a review to clarify some of the comments made here. Firstly the hotel is small and the bathrooms have seen better days but the rooms are clean and functional and more than adequate for this 2 star hotel. The pool area is lovely with plenty of loungers for guests but you will need to get there early to secure the best spot around the pool. When I was there last week (14th to 24th June) there were lots of Polish guests but none of them were getting drunk or making noise. Far from it in fact as most were in their retirement years and wanted to relax as much as I did. The service around the pool area is questionable as both the day and evening bar staff are very aloof. If you are not part of the clique then it can be a little tiresome. The guy who works in the daytime is Bulgarian and doesn't smile easily but if you take the time to talk to him he will be pleasant and will talk with you.
The food... is typical cheap all inclusive fare. Breakfasts include boiled eggs or omelette style eggs with bread and cheese, sliced ham of some kind and yoghurt and honey. There will be bacon or sausages too. The lunchtime time menu consists of chips and pasta with sauce, stifado style dishes, usually some meat like pork belly or lamb and plenty of salad dishes laced with vinegar. Evening meals are similar but no pasta or chips but plenty of meat or fish with yet more salad dishes. At best I would describe the food as passable/edible. Don't expect haute cuisine or Michelin star food as you will be disappointed. A negative would be the cost of air con for the rooms. 7 euros a day was a little pricey in my opinion and as temperatures were in the high 30s every day air con is a must if you want to be able to sleep at night. Overall I would say that this hotel does everything you'd expect for an establishment of this class. It seems that a lot of people who have reviewed this hotel expected luxury for their couple of hundred pounds and once they realised that it wasn't have felt necessary to give this place negative reviews. It's not that bad and is located in one of the best areas of Rhodes. The beach is 5 minutes walk away and is beautiful. Suitable for small children as it slopes gently into the sea. If you have booked this hotel and are now panicking after reading some of these unjustified reviews then please don't worry. Go with an open mind and you shouldn't be disappointed.

I have just returned from the Thalia Hotel after staying for 7 nights with my partner and we weren't impressed much at all. The hotel itself and the pool area are quite nice, however the main problem was the food. The hotel is now an All Inclusive buffet style which includes all drinks, however the food was not labelled, it wasn't refilled until the trays were completely empty, very often the dishes didn't look appetising, and some dishes were not cooked properly. Many other holiday-makers had complained about the food throughout our week, but nothing seemed to change and therefore made our slightly less enjoyable. Other than that the hotel and the staff were very friendly, however I wouldn't stay here again due to the All Inclusive package.

Just returned from ten days atThalia Hotel. The main complaint we had was the management of the restaurant, the food was ok but dishes were not refilled until they were completely empty, so you had to wait. The pudding [ there was usually only one] was either all gone or there were no dishes or spoons. They didnt seem able to have any coordination and need a good restaurant manager !! The staff were all pleasant, really helpful. Another improvement would be an indoor bar, it rained one night and we could only get all inclusive drinks from the poolbar. The room was fine but the bathroom was tiny. Overall, we had a great holiday, it was typically greek.

My family have just returned from a wonderful holiday at the Thalia Hotel. Have no idea why it is receiving such poor reviews. Its a small hotel run by a lovely Greek family. Each and everyone of them made us feel so welcome. The rooms whilst are basic ard clean and are cleaned every single day and given fresh towels. The food is good with plenty of choice including typical Greek food (yum!) or chips, pasta and lots of different meats. The hotel is situated in a fabulous location and not in the centre of Pefkos but within a 5 minute walk. We have 3 teenage kids who had "the best holiday ever" and want us to start saving so we can return next year!! Thankyou to Thalia Hotel and especially Theo and Makis ! Hope to see you next year!
