Stayed for a week here slightly worried after some of the reviews!
Nice friendly family good spacious room with plenty of clean towels etc for the price you pay you really can't complain.
I am looking forward to returning for eleven nights in July especially as it's right at the heart of everything

Been travelling to rhodes for 30 years and stayed in many resorts. Know the general standard in Greece so were under no illusions of expecting opulent accommodation etc but the Thalia is the worst we've had, moved out within 3 days.

Accommodation was poor, staff were young guys who letched after my wife and daughter to the degree they did not want to be in the hotel grounds or restaurant. Pool area was like a 'boys club' for the young staff members with banging music all day and later in the day, they overtook the pool diving, somersaulting off slide, chasing females and chucking eater about. Totally inappropriate - if we'd stayed any longer, there would have been a big argument.

Rubbish left lying around and never moved from pool area foe 3 days we were there, including a discarded pair of underwear.

Sun loungers in unusable condition.

Had an early morning swim and was disgusted when I took a breath whilst swimming and ingested a cockroach that I rapidly spat out - the thought make me shivered with disgust still.

Didn't tell the family at the time but this was the final straw and we promptly left.

From some one experienced of the standards in Greece/rhodes, avoid the thalia. Other friends who didn't want to tell us before we travelled all had the same opinion from personal experience or from others they had met in the resort that had stayed at the thalia.

We stayed at this hotel for a week all inclusive in September. As a couple who have frequently stayed at various hotels in different countries we have never ever complained before over the standard of accommodation believing that you get what you pay for. However we did not pay a bargain price for this holiday and were very disappointed with the hotel. We paid extra for a room with a view, room was small but adequate apart from the broken tiles on step to bathroom. We asked to change rooms due to the pool bar playing the dance music so loud all day long that you could not hear yourself think. Second room quieter but air conditioning (extra paid) leaked water so much that I had to put waste bin and towel under it, when this was mentioned on checking out ,reception said they were aware of this. Reception staff were generally helpful.Room was cleaned regularly, communal areas not very regularly. Food in restaurant had a very poor selection, Waiters? not interested and just stood around talking to each other, as they did not wear any sort of uniform it was difficult to know who were actually staff, expected to clear your own table, often had to have glass of wine in a cup due to there not being enough glasses in restaurant. Only had an outside bar after the restaurant had closed , the barman made no effort to be friendly and spent all his time trying to impress the young Russian girls, only played the music to suit him even though customers were requesting different music. Spent most evenings elsewhere, nice restaurant/ bar around the corner that were very friendly and welcoming. The only good thing about this hotel is the location I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed here in July, we got what we paid for.

It was fine really, a few improvements would make it alot better like fixing the pool stairs, abit cleaner and the food could be abit warmer, we seemed to live on pasta, bread and occasional bolognaise it was ok just cold and maybe a change. I must admit we only had breakfast once as it was cold hot dogs and hard boiled eggs...

Our air con didnt work for 3 days which was horrific as it was so hot but instead of moving us we kept being told an engineer was coming! Which was annoying seeing as the price we paid for it!

The staff werent interested in us apart from the man on the front desk seemed nice but the young lads were quite arrogant.

It didn't ruin our holiday as we arent that type of people but I probably wouldn't stay again!

Though the main man Nikcos was welcoming/helpful, it's a very poor hotel, needing lots of work to bring it up to minimum standards. Hotel was clean enough though could be better, but things like the steps at the pool being so loose that they are unsafe is unforgivable. It's pot luck if you get cold or tepid water from the shower. No lock on the ladies poolside toilet. Lots of free sunbeds, but some of them very old / worn / torn. Food & drink: Salads, fresh bread, yogurt were all good. Unfortunately there was lots of other things not so good - meat could be ok, but was either overcooked/tough or cold, and though I love fish I kept trying to take some, but not good, I know it's hard to keep food hot in a buffet situation, but if it's hot when it goes out then you've got a chance, I eat at various times, but it was always the same - not good, and yes if you didn't eat it at one meal it would be served up at the next (lunch & dinner). We're not demanding, not big drinkers, but it would have been nice on the very cold nights (there were a few as it was Oct) if we could have had the drinks inside, eg the restaurant, rather than walk out into pitch darkness to the pool bar to get a drink and hope that you didn't trip over the hazards. There's lots of things that I could go on about, but at the end of the day, we had an enjoyable holiday not because of the hotel, but in spite of it, we didn't let things get on top of us and had enough money to eat out every evening once we realised how bad the food was. It's an old hotel and looks it, but with a little thought and a few things improved (safety, not cosmetic) then it could be a lot better. But though I'd go to Pefkos again, but I would not chance this hotel and don't think it deserved the 2.5 stars that it had displayed and definitely not the 3 stars that we were sold.

Being a frequent and experienced traveller i never thought i'd find myself writing a bad review, thinking that only moaners and whingers did that. Wrong wrong wrong in this case, the food was inedible, raw eggs served more than once at breakfast, just told to drink the eggs to give me stregnth, unbelievable and dangerous. Food always cold, and same food dished up again and again. Soft drinks machine not always working so were lucky if you managed to get a very small plastic cup of water. Needless to say we spent a great deal of money eating out ( 5 adults in our family group ) Rooms were a disgrace, we had a twin and a 2roomed family SUITE ? The door between the 2 rooms could not be closed as the door frame pointed into one room and the room wall leaned at an angle into the other room. The bathroom was located in the 2nd room so whoever slept in room 1 had to access and disturb the occupants of room 2, not ideal with mixed gender in laws. Shower was a joke and the drainage almost non existant. The stench from the bathroom was sometimes unbearable and outer doors had to be left open to expel the smell of the so called drainage system. Cleanliness, whats that at this hotel. The head cleaner HAHA who doubled as the cook HAHA seemed to spend most of her time sitting smoking either on hotel room balconies but never cleaning them or when supposedly cleaning the childrens pool then throwing the dog ends on the ground. Everywhere is in disrepair particularly broken steps, and paving around the pool and bar area is particularly bad. This is a very dangerous situation for everyone but especially as i am sight impared. Will i come here again? I'd rather eat wasps !!!!

Room Tip: Stay at another hotel

We were on hols at the same time as Terilyn2207 and agree with everything they said, what they didn't tell you was the chef left after the first three days of our hols and this is when the food changed, not sure this might have had something to do with the fact the cleaner was doing the cooking. The hotel is very basic but you expect that for what you pay, but it would be nice to be able to differentiate between Staff and guests. Also the bar ran out of Ouzo ( in Greece) on our second night, although to be fair they did get some for the next night. The snack bar was an ice cream cornet with one scoop of ice cream, but mid week they ran out of cornets so you were given it in a plastic cup with a spoon,(the spoon had to be returned to the bar for washing up). The tea/coffee machine was broken at the bar the second week of our stay. The English t.bags ran out in the restaurant on day two, great if you like Green T coz that was all that was available. We had a packed lunch one day as we had hired a car, this consisted of a cold croissant left over from breakfast and a sandwich consisting of two slices processed white bread with a slice of cheese in the middle, and a bottle of water. Needless to say we ate out.

Room Tip: Don't bother
