“Fantastic Hotel and Beautiful Resort.”
Reviewed 17 September 2013

I stayed at the Pefkos Beach with my Wife and 2 friends and found it to be a fantastic hotel.

I want to start by addressing a few complaints people have have made on here.

1) Lack of entertainment: this is a hotel, use as a base to explore, it's not a self contained all inclusive resort. Get out and enjoy what the Village/Island has to offer.

2) No one to take bags to room: If you want a bell boy... book a 5 star resort, (They took our bags to just below apartments for us).

3) Air con and Safe costs extra: Doesn't it everywhere?

4) It's close to the main road: Yes, but its the quietest main road I've ever seen. Hardly like being in Falaraki

5) Its on a hill. Yes it is... as in mentioned on the website of the Hotel and clear from most pictures. If you don't like hills, go on holiday to Holland.

6) There is no complimentary soap: So what, no one ever uses it, it gets taken home as a 'souvenir' where it gets left in a drawer and thrown away in a few months.

The only valid complaint that I have read on this site is that there is no welcome bottle of water, this on reading I felt was trivial till I arrived. Airport arrivals only has vending machines (which most people arrive on holiday with only notes, and when you have flights arriving at Silly O'clock in the morning when all the shops have shut and you are advised not to drink tap water a bottle of water was desperately needed. If not a free one in the room, at least have a fridge in reception to sell them

Anyway, enough of everyone else's complaints.

We stayed here for a week in September 2013, and arrived in the resort in just over an hour (quicker then stated in Thomson's Brochure) and was greeted at the hotel by Andy, the night receptionist. Andy was very friendly and helpful, got us booked in quickly before someone took our bag on the back of a van up to our rooms. This was up a steep hill but this is something we expected. Andy didn't push the sale on air con as some owners do, he told us to go to the room, see how it was and call if we wanted it switched on.

Our rooms were side by side and hidden with no view, as we didn't request a 'sea view' or 'pool view' we didn't mind this and with temperatures of up to 36°c at times, having a balcony away from the heat was very welcome at times.

Our rooms were clean, smart and although basic, all that we needed on a holiday to Rhodes. With so many fantastic restaurants you wouldn't need to use the kitchenette.

The pool areas was perfect for what we needed always clean, separate pools for kids and always enough sunbeds.

The pool bar was great value and never too busy. The Cocktail bar wasn't as good value for breakfast (same menu) but the hotel does tell you to eat at poor bar as cocktail bar does cater for non-hotel guests.

The Nostalgia Restaurant does produces a good meal at a reasonable price but only eat here the once, there are too many good restaurants to eat in the same place twice when in Pefkos.

The trips out offered by Thomson from this hotel were a good price when compared with what you could book independently and the Rep Nicki was not pushy with the sale of them as I have experienced with other reps (eg Thomas Cook and 2wentys).

Nicki our Thomson rep was fantastic and on hand for every need. She even found us the perfect location for our friends to get engaged. She took us there after she had finished work so that we could discretely scope the location and checked with the owners of site that we were ok to use it. This was above and beyond what she had to do and I know my friends are really grateful for her help.

As well as Nicki (Rep) and Andy (Night Reception) the other staff there were fantastic. Always helpful, friendly and happy to help with anything.

We went to this hotel as 2 couples (left the kids at home) but will hopefully be returning next year with the children (7 & 17 years) as we feel this hotel to be perfect for families as well as couples.

Room Tip: Please do read the Hotels website, it does advise you about the limited access to some rooms for tho...

We have just returned from a week in Pefkos the hotel was lovely, clean and very family friendly, the staff were amazing especially as we lost all our money as soon as we got off the plane! We arrived late and they let us use the phone (for a few hours)to try and sort something out. The pools were great and we spent most of our time there especially on the days it got to nearly 40oc! we went bed and breakfast and although this was convenient we only used it 3 times as the choice was limited to english breakfasts (mostly fry ups) we were looking forward to yoghurt and choices of fruits and breads but all a bit english for us so we ended up going to the supermarket (when we had some money) and bakery which was nearby. We are not people who usually return to the same place twice as too many places to go and explore but if we were we would definitely go back.

Room Tip: We had a room in the new development, beautifully decorated very quiet and beautiful views, the down...

This is the best place to stay in pefkos. It's absolutely lush. Friendly staff. Lovely pools rooms cleaned 6 days a week. Laundry facility's two bars and a lush resturaunt Everything you need for a relaxing holiday. I'd say its perfectly centre to everything in pefkos. Problem was it was that good my family didn't want to go exploring with me because the hotel was so good, they didn't want to leave.

Room Tip: Room 401. Ground level by the pool

We stayed in room 612 it wasn't up the hill, it was classed as a poolside apartment but our balcony overlooked the nostalgia and we had a fantastic sea view, we loved this room and would request it if we go again! The room was massive and kept clean by the maids, we have no complaints here apart from we never got clean towels, don't really know why this was. Also there is no complimentary soap or shampoo or anything in the bathroom, I wasn't bothered about the toiletries because I always take my own anyway but there's always usually a bar of soap so I had to go buy one, not a massive problem.
The pools are nice, we always stayed round the bottom pool as it was always quieter and in the sun all day and also plenty of beds available, even when we turned up midday after doing other things.
We never ate in the nostalgia but we found the pool bar more pricey and not as nice as the other bars during the day, our favourite was lee beach bar, really reasonable prices and the gyros were amazing! We also tried the kyma resteraunt which was also amazing food and I can see why it is rated no.1 on here. We ate at Hellas, Flavia and enigma and these were also really nice. We went to the main beach (lee beach) this was by far the best on the island, the others aren't as nice and are a bit more rocky walking into the sea.
On a night we tried the eclipse bar and the rock bar, both good atmosphere and really nice bar staff!
Can't wait to return to pefkos and we will definitely stay at pefkos beach hotel!
By the way Andys is lovely and he was really quick at checking us in which is what u need when u arrive at 6 in the mornin after a long flight.

This is a fantastic place to stay, we were in room 121, the sea view is the best, all the staff are so polite and Ray on reception is very helpful, the pools are clean and well maintained. All the bars and restaurants are very close by. Try Dama Dama very good food and atmosphere . The food and cold beers at the pool bar are very good.
The room was clean and great size. Lindos is worth a visit, local bus is €1.60 and stops outside the hotel. The beach is very good and a 10 min walk, stop for a beer at Bambooze, very nice people made you very welcome, the beer was so cold, even my wife had a pint or 2.
It is the best holiday we have ever had and will return again and will recommend Pefkos Beach to stay at.

We have just returned from a lovely relaxing holiday in Pefkos, staying at Pefkos beach hotel. The weather was beautiful. We stayed in room 163 nice big apartment with huge bed, view of the sea and Pefkos. Staff very friendly nothing was a problem. I had recently had an operation on my leg and was worried about the apartment being quite far up the hill but I managed quite well luckily the funicular took us up most of the way on 2 occasions the lift broke down but was fixed very quickly. On the day we were coming home the lift had broken but we got a phone call to say not to worry jimmy would come and collect the cases, we rang and jimmy was there in minutes very happy and obliging as were all the staff. The restaurant was excellent. One downside to the holiday was a trip to Rhodes, it was very hot and after a good walk about we decided it was time for a drink, on a previous trip some years ago we were ripped off with one of the beers in a glass boot so this time we thought right we know we are going to get ripped off but at least we know this time, so we ordered a small and large beer I was told there was no small just medium so did I want a large which I refused luckily when we got the bill it cost us 32 Euros if I had of got a large one it would have been 42 Euros so if you go for a drink please ask to see the menu before you buy I noticed someone did have a small beer it was a bottle but I wasn't offered that. We were so disgusted I have vowed never to go back to Rhodes town ever again, it is such a shame as it is beautiful. We then went back for the bus we were told it was full and had to wait another 2 hours, then you cant buy a ticket until half an hour before the bus leaves so we didn't want to venture too far as the next bus would be really full as it was about 4.30 we decided we would have something to eat there was a greasy looking café so we thought we wont be ripped off here, some elderly old Greek who seemed friendly came to serve us, he brought some meat on a fork and we were told to try, we explained we only wanted a small snack he said we could share we were then charged 30 Euros when my husband questioned it he got very aggressive. I then asked where the toilets were and was told in the middle of the square where I had to pay. We couldn't wait to get away from the place. It was time for the bus, nobody knows how to queue, it was a free for all as you are not guaranteed a seat, so on this occasion we wished we had gone on an organised tour. So glad to get back to Pefkos. It was a very expensive day out. But please try Pefkos, especially Pefkos beach hotel you wont be disappointed.

Room Tip: We were in room 163 there are apartments in front of it but you still get a nice view.
