Me and my better half went for 7 Days, Self-Catering w/ Thomson (2nd May - 9th May). We arrived at the airport around 21:30, greeted by a cheery Thomson Rep who directed us to our transfers, took around 45 minutes (varies depending on how many drops there are).

We arrived later on in the evening to check-in where again, a very helpful polite woman greeted us, gave us our room key and directed us to our room (Block B room 209).

On entering our room we were overjoyed with how spacious it was. Well sized bed (so she could sprawl), TV with English channels, beautiful view out onto the sea from our balcony. The bathroom was as expected, smallish, clean (apart from not being able to flush paper, not to keen on).

We then took a pleasant walk into town to grab a bite to eat and a few beers before turning in for the night,

Next morning got up and lay by the pool. PLENTY of sunbeds available, little did I know we had booked the first week of the season so there wasn't many people there at all (35 i think the receptionist said). However, this suited us perfectly. Gorgeous cool pool to take a dip in, if you have children there is a fairly sized play area within a 20yd walk from the sunbeds and pool.
Lolos-barman was great, I was told he is the only one who makes the cocktails because he's so good at them. Reasonably priced drinks, beer, cocktails, soft drinks etc. Also Maria the chef cooks up a mean Pita Gyros for lunch.

The weather was amazing, it topped out around 32ºC and an average of 27ºC. The final day was the cloudiest-obviously we didn't mind.

The walk to the town is short, around 5-10 mins if that. Plenty of cocktail bars, some we didn't go in as being so early season they weren't open. Spent alot of time in Jasmines due to the free Wi-Fi, everyone was so friendly everywhere you went;

Beautiful area, nice people. Will definately be returning, hopefully this year some time.

The only downside was due to us going so early on the water had been standing in the tanks for 6 months in the "off" season, so the water had a sulphuric smell-like eggs, for the first day or so, we just kept the taps running and the shower running. If you experience it tell the staff and they put some smelly stuff in it to mask it.

Also make sure you have a good meal and drinks BEFORE you get into Rhodes airport, the "cafe" is crap and overpriced and don't accept card, also there is no cash machine upstairs so ensure you've got money if you're hoping to buy food there. The duty free takes card.

My husband and I have just returned from the Lindia Thalassa (9-16th May). It was a last minute bargain from Thomsons. We wanted a chilled out week in the sun. We opted to hire a car instead of the coach transfer and found the journey to be an easy drive of about 50 minutes. Our apartment in Block B was lovely, it was very spacious, had a side view of both the sea and the pool and was very quiet. The room was very clean (as was the whole complex). All the staff we encountered were very pleasant and friendly. The pool area was clean and well set out with plenty of sunbeds, we used the pool bar an an evening and were always greeted with a smile and a joke. I cannot fault the apartment complex at all, and would definately recommend it to friends.

My husband and I stayeed here in September 2011 for 2 weeks. We have stayed here once before (2011) and the sister property pefki Islands in 2008. Although both complexes are completely spotless and staff very friendly we prefered to lindia thalassa. This is because it is closer to the beach and the complex seems more relaxed.

We stayed in Block A the first time and block E the second. Both studios were exactly the same layout and both looked after superbly by the hard working maids. Block A had a lovely sea view and it was great to wake up to that every day, block E had a pool view and it was good to people watch. The only thing with block E was it was noisy some nights when the entertainment was on and if I had a child with me would have found it hard to get them to sleep and as some nights we had bother.

The resort of Pefkos itself is great for families and couples. Loads of bars and restaurants to choose from and all reasonably priced. We discovered Colisieum retaurant this year which we have never been to before (up the strip close to the chinese at the top) the food and service here was so good we visited this restaurant 3 times in the fortnight stay.
Our fav restaurant by far is the Philosophia which is just outside the lindia thalassa. All 3 times we have been to pefkos we have visited this retaurant most days either it be for lunc, dinner or just a drink. Simple looking but food and service is amazing.

The staff at the Lindia Thalassa are so hard working and really do seem genuiane when speaking to them throughout the day and are all so polite.

The onlty bugbear I do have (which has not stopped me holidaying here nor will stop) is that the price of the air con is really expensive. We payed 140 euros for 2 weeks and it was def needed. The safe was 47 euros and we did not get any of that back at all, I do not mind paying for the safe but this price seems very high and you do not even get anything back...I would love to know who pockets this money.

Overall another fantastic stay in Pefkos and we will be returning with our new baby girl next year.

Enjoy....x

Room Tip: Block A sea views, Block B & C peaceful, Block D & E overlooking pool

Stayed in 2010 I know it's late but,,,,, stayed on my own as a single mum with my daughter in her wheelchair, a scary thought for anyone really but this place I had been before so hoped to be safe,,, and AMAZING,, you can't get anywhere cleaner and safer to stay. The resort itself is also fantastic for a self catering location, the collesium does amazing ribs and the jasmine bar is great for an even session of people watching while the kids play,,, there is a beach cafe just down the beach which again great value great food and fantastic atmosphere,,,, will go again for sure :-)

As a young couple we stayed at the Lindia Thalassa in the last week of September.

We had a ground floor 2 bedroom apartment (it actually worked out cheaper to get a 2 bed than a 1!). The bedroom was big and the kitchen area adequate. Bathroom was a little tight but perfectly functional and we got fresh towels everyday. Only gripe would be that the cleaners don't wash up so you must do this yourself.

We paid for the air conditioning and unless your going out of season i'd recommend this as it does get really hot but it was very reasonably priced. Make sure they swtich the units on in the right rooms though as they kept turning ours off centrally in the main bedroom and I had to keep ringing reception to get it back on.

We ate lunch on our balcony everyday and were always surrounded by hundreds of ants but this might of just been a ground floor problem.

There is a supermarket on site but it's a bit expensive so i'd advise using one of the others in town (only a short walk) There is a bakery up the hill which does the most amazing pastries and baklavas that is worth braving the hill for!

We didn't use the pool as it was very noisy around there with loud music and children but the beach was lovely. It's only thin and the water comes up almost to your sunbed but you can always get a bed (8 Euros a day) and the sea is beautiful. There is a private entrance to the beach from the hotel down some stairs.

The restaurants in Pefkos were all pretty good but our favourite was definitely Tepsis - we went back twice. The food is amazing, beautfully presented and reasonably priced. I'd recommend the Courgette Fritters to start and the Lamb Exodus for main.

The Rock bar is definitely the place to drink especially up on the upstairs terrace. Furnished with bean bags and palm trees it's a real chill out area and the waiters / waitresses are so friendly and chatty and needless to say the music is top notch. Other bars were a bit English and crash but this was more of a chilled holiday vibe. There is an open top club next door if you fancy on staying out even later with a swimming pool inside!

Overall a nice chilled holiday. Not the lap of luxury but good value for money.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the air conditioning - it's worth it
