“A fabulous find in a beautiful part of Corsica”
Reviewed 21 June 2013

Two couples aged in our 60s stayed in two terrace rooms and loved every minute. The reception staff and housekeeping were friendly and efficient but low-key, not fussy. The view from the room over the Gulf was stunning, breakfast on the balcony a real treat and delivered within 5 minutes of phoning with no fuss. The beach was a wonderful extra in June when the weather was very hot and drinks on the terrace watching the sun set was magic. Beautiful part of the world and a very convenient location for the hotel, on the water side, a few blocks out of town, within walking distance of restaurants etc so no hassle with parking. Also recommend the boat trip to Luto Beach - more comfortable with sand than the pebble beach at the front door!!

Stayed here for one week, as other reviews the location is great and the rooms with large terrace are vey well situated although not really private. The room was very clean as was the bathroom, linen nice and white and bedding great, large comfortable bed. No air con but ceiling fan, only 3 small draws and small wardrobe! The continental breakfast we thought was expensive at 8euros, same thing is town 5euros. We took a travel kettle with cups and some cutlery and bought provisions at local shop and bakery. Try the Viking bread, wonderful. There is a fridge in the room for milk, butter etc as well as your beer and wine! The staff are pleasant and friendy. The terrace is a great place to eat breakfast and have pre dinner drink before walking the 10 mins into town. We checked out other hotels on beach side and they were mostly cheaper and included buffet breakfast. The beach near hotel del la Roya seems to be the best but not many sunbeds for hire.

St Florent is a lovely little town and harbour, and there are plenty of restuarants, we found the best food at Hotel Europe opposite the harbour, great 3 course set menu for 19euros. Wine is expensive in the restuarants from 20euros up! Some restuarants serve pitchers of local wine which is the cheaper option and very drinkable.

A car is essential and we visited, Calvi, L'lle Rousse, Erbalunga and Bastia, all very nice places to visit, When travelling there is a stunning view round every corner you will want to take loads of photos.

This hotel is immaculately kept with beautiful gardens, well presented and spotlessly clean rooms. The ground floor rooms have terraces with a table and chairs for eating breakfast whilst enjoying the spectacular views across the bay and sun loungers to relax on too. Breakfast is delivered to your room minutes after calling reception to say you are ready. If you are lucky enough to get room 11 you will have the largest terrace which also has a small garden area and gets the sun a couple of hours before the other terrace rooms. The hotel is right on a beach but it's a very narrow pebble beach. You can walk to a sandy beach in about 15-20 minutes but if you have a car I would recommend the beach at Farinole, about a 10 minute drive away to the north. The staff at the hotel are really nice - friendly and can't do enough for you although it helps greatly if you can speak french. It's about a 10 minute walk into the centre of St. Florent where you will find plenty of cafe's bars and restaurants. The hotel is in a quiet location and is ideal for couples looking for a relaxing romantic holiday. Also an ideal base for exploring the northern part of the island.

The Dolce Notte is a real find on Corsica. It has a lovely situation on a pebbly beach in St. Florent about 5-10 minutes walk from the centre of town. Everything has been thought of in the presentation of the hotel, warm reception and well appointed rooms. The decor is natural, sea shells and pebbles, with white linen, nice towels, good quality fixtures and fittings.

We had a ground floor room with walk in shower wet room style, and huge terrace with table and chairs and 2 sunloungers. The balconies are semi private on the ground floor but were more private on the first floor. The whole set up is very relaxed and comfortable. Breakfast is served in your room - you just phone up and ask for it to be delivered, it was very good.

Ample parking and nice grounds to sit in if you wanted to - direct access to the pebbly beach down some steps - bring your jelly shoes !

At 135 euros per night this was the cheapest hotel we stayed in on Corsica and the best so it goes to show that price isn't everything.

Only negatives - no internet connection in room and the ground floor balconies not so private - you do hear the mobile phone conversations from the other mostly French and Italian guests !

All in all highly recommended.

A real treasure of a hotel in an idyllic location. Great service from the friendly staff, and fabulous views from the terrace, facing right onto the sea. The ultra-clean rooms seem to have been recently renovated, and boast a generously-sized bathroom and tastefully understated decor. Despite it being late September and the end of the season, most of the 20 rooms were occupied, which speaks volumes. No faults and fabulous value - can't recommend it highly enough. One thing to note is that they are closed from mid-October to March.

The Dolce Notte is a small hotel situated on the road out of Saint Florent (approx 500m from the town centre). The hotel is right on the sea front and all rooms have a sea view. We had a room with a terrace, which was a good size with a couple of sun loungers and table and chairs. Whilst there is no sun first thing in the morning is was great to watch the sun set with a glass of wine!

The room was pretty basic but clean and comfortable. There is a fridge in the room which is useful for keeping drinks/food. Whilst you could have breakfast in your room/on your terrace, we choose to walk into town and go to one of the cafes by the harbour.
