“Lovely Friendly hotel”
Reviewed 23 June 2014 via mobile

We stayed at the Savannah hotel for 2 weeks in June. The hotel is small and just perfect, we had a lovely welcome off front desk and a rum cocktail upon arrival.
Heather the rep is lovely and very knowledgable about the island and will help you with anything if she can.
We were a little disappointed unable to use the beach to swim as a mass wall of seaweed descended making it Impossible to use. I understand this is not the hotels fault but after speaking to locals who say it happens most June s i feel Virgin Holidays should make customers aware ! The hotel has a free bus on wednesdays and Thursdays to another beach also carlisle bay is a 10 min stroll away.

The rooms are lovely and clean with a huge four poster bed and flat screen telly , our house keeper Janelle was so friendly and happy. The rooms are cleaned daily with linen and towels changed every other day , beach towels are also provided.

We mainly ate in Drifters which had a good variety of dishes we found something to eat every day, the only thing were the birds flying around the restaurant happily coming to your plate whilst you were eating really annoying ! also bird droppings on the chairs not very nice whilst your eating!
The staff tried their best to move the birds along but i feel something more appropriate needs doing!
Rachel's restaurant was lovely we had buffet and al a carte meals there the food was delicious and the cocktails aplenty .

The Bajan locals are very friendly and we felt it was safe to leave the hotel and do a little shopping in Bridgetown a taxi will cost you $20bajan (£6ish) or a local reggae bus is $2 bajan or $1us dollar definitely worth a day out to Bridgetown . Whilst your there go to Carlisle Bay beach do a bit of snorkelling see some turtles and coral just stunning .

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Savannah and we would go back again it really was a fab holiday. Also thanks to richard and David for keeping the drinks flowing

Where do l begin with this holiday destination, greeted by Shontelle on arrival very quick checkin very pleasant.
Shown round hotel then shown to our room with a view of court yard & sea to the left.
The room looked outstanding with a four poster bed and was very spacious.
Hotel managers cocktail welcoming party on the Monday evening with very tasty food spoke to Edwin very funny man.
Virgin welcome meeting with Heather in the morning we were glad we went she knows everything and recommends some excellent trips, we did the triple delight Harrison's Cave, Mount Gay rum distillery then a boat trip and snorkelling well worth it.
What more can l say about the food in Rachel's and Drifters outstanding.
Curlene in Rachel's and the staff were always friendly and welcoming and my glass was never empty and they were always ready to talk to you.
The entertainment on the night at Drifters bar was excellent.
We went to Oistins on the Friday and Saturday night brilliant both nights.
Went to St Lawrence Gap and Bridgetown.
Walking round locally was very relaxed and the local people were very friendly as well.
You need to go on the reggae bus very cheap 2 Barbadian dollars ( 60 p ) just tell them where you want to get off and they will let u know

We have never felt so relaxed on a holiday as we did here and we met some wonderful people who were like minded.
We would definitely go back to Barbados brill holiday x

Room Tip: Room 356 close to Rachel's and Drifters food and drink yum yum

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks during the Easter Holidays with our 2 teenage children; and what an amazing time we had. The hotel is stunning and clean, with the staff very helpful and friendly.

A special mention for Kerry-Ann and Darius in Chopstix, who were able to have a laugh with us, whilst still working hard, and Sherry-Ann who cleaned our room immaculately. Also a very special mention for Wayne the tee-shirt artist who works from Drifters. His artistic skills are fabulous...we gave him a vague idea of what we wanted, and he came back with amazing designs spray-painted onto a tee-shirt! He said they were completely washable, and I can now confirm this as all of ours have now been washed a couple of times each, and look as good as when they were first painted!! Really good value for money for a completely unique tee-shirt. Thank You Wayne!

The food at the hotel is brilliant, plenty of variety, and we enjoyed eating at all 3 restaurants...Chopstix serves great oriental food.

We found Linda the Virgin Rep to be really friendly and helpful. We went on 3 trips 1) the Virgin Ahoy catamaran trip which was a relaxing day at sea. We were lucky to see many fish and turtles, and shoals of flying fish! 2) The Jeep Safari, we were lucky to get Ruel as our driver/guide, an amazing man, who is very knowledgeable and passionate about his fabulous Island. We learnt a great deal from him. 3) The Caves and Critters tour, where the caves were stunning and worth the visit, but probably wouldn't go back to the wildlife park.

The only reason we have given this hotel 4 and not 5 is that we stayed in a pool access room with 2 double beds, which was very comfy and clean, but which would have been more comfortable for our family if it had 1 double and 2 singles...more a suggestion for the Hotel management to consider different options.

As mentioned on another review, take an extension lead with you, so you only need one travel adaptor.

We are hoping to return next year, but are finding that it will be a lot more expensive to have 2 rooms, so will have to see...

We went out to barbados to get married. We didn't want a big event and could never afford a big family thing and a honeymoon, so barbados became our location for both wedding and honeymoon! Wouldn't have had it any other way!! We were in constant communication with hotel event coordinator who helped with everything, and everyone was wonderful from start to finish!! A great venue for any wedding - from just the two of you to larger groups, nothing is too much for Steffi and the team to accommodate! I was expecting things to be more basic for the price we paid but rooms were much larger, most with balconies as standard which is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the location in privacy. All staff were fantastic - all seemed to have a genuine interest in your stay and would remember things to comment on the following day etc - a lovely touch. Food was great - we chose drifters mostly due to more casual atmosphere and excellent live entertainment! Drinks constantly flowing thanks to attentive wait staff!! Overall a fab hotel and we will be returning !

We treated ourselves to an Anniversary get away in Barbados.
Flying with Virgin to Savannah was pleasurable and we were warmly greeted when we arrived.
From start to finish I could not fault this resort.
Rooms were spotless and cleaned daily, TV reception not great but this hardly mattered.
Food is great even a fussy person would not starve.
Cocktails fabulous and constantly flowing.
Beach not the best but pools are lovely and the hotel put a free shuttle on twice a week to Cocabana beach with 2 free drinks vouchers free sunbeds and umbrella (paradise the most turquoise sea and beautiful sandy beach)
We did 2 trips whilst here for a week, catamaran and swam with turtles and the twilight submarine along the coral reefs and shipwrecks, I highly recommend both.
We fell in love with Barbados, the locals and the Savannah.
Can't praise this hotel enough, you ask you get , thank you Savannah for everything xx

Thank you to all at the Savannah for being so courteous and friendly. A special thx to Horace for sorting out the small problem we had with the plumbing with quick efficient proffesionalism and for of course upgrading us for free and sorting out my complimentary spa treatments. Things can always go wrong in every hotel from time to time and its how its dealt with thats more important and for this i give the Savannah 10*. Another mention must be to the lovely Paula, front of house manager, she is so friendly and she must hv at least 9 clones lol, as she seems to be everywhere.
The hotel itself is clean and spacious, we had a suite (328) and the views are stunning. Food is varied and of a good standard, oh and the cocktails are quite delish and addictive.
All in all i would definately go back to barbados and to this hotel!!! I hv no complaints only compliments to give to this hotel and its wonderful staff.

Room Tip: Suite 328 has an excellent ocean view.

Just spent a week in this beautiful hotel. The grounds are stunning and the rooms, we had a deluxe pool access room, are amazing. The room was beautifully furnished and we had a lovely balcony with steps down to the meandering pool. All of the staff went out of their way to ensure you were looked after. Fantastic food both in Drifters beach restaurant and in Rachel's. Tony was generally the chef on duty at breakfast and he always had a friendly greeting for every guest. Fabian, one of the bartender's was just amazing, nothing was ever too much trouble. From start to finish the staff made this a memorable holiday.

Room Tip: Pool access rooms are lovely so nice to be able to come straight down into the pool from your room.
