Dear Friend, thank you for writing this review for us. I am happy that you enjoyed your recent visit. I am sorry that you had a challenge with your husband's health and dietary requirements. You are correct, we are not an All Inclusive hotel and while we do offer Full breakfast and Halfboard options, we prefer to leave the All Inclusive options to the large hotel chains. Thank you and all the best to you and your husband.
One love, Linda, Jason, Mark and team at Coconut Court

Looking for a nice, cozy hotel with a great location and good customer service?
Not so keen on those amazing (and not so personal) five-star hotels?
Loving beautiful, guaranteed sea side views and your own private balcony?
Interested on cooking a few meals yourself or having something for the worst hunger on your own fridge?
Appreciate clean and spacious room?
Agreed?
OK, book this hotel.

We chose Coconut Court for our first holiday in the Caribbean ever. What a good choice we made! Personally we don't look for fancy five stars but a place to feel like at home. We value good service, clean environment, balcony(!) with a nice view and reasonable prices. Read almost all the reviews before going there and most of them are accurate. (I was impressed by the fact that the hotel management really takes time to read and reply the reviews!)
Yes, there are some birds at the breakfast area -you're in the tropics. Cover your plate or look after it.
Yes, it is an older building, but well and regularly maintained.
Yes, the beach underwater is more rocky than some other. But! It is so much more beautiful and comfortable with the palm trees, it's shallower and the reef gives you an aquarium right on your own beach. The day you wish to feel the white powdery sand, walk 200m and you're there. We loved the fact your own beach is lovely and interesting and then there's a walking distance to a few different kinds of beaches. If you have very sensitive feet for the little rocks, like my husband has, bring shoes, like he did. He wore them once. :)

Have to say, we only had one idea for improvement. We paid for the room with the best view (worth it!!) and for those rooms you can't ask for a room with gas stove etc. The last day we suggested one of the owners to have small electric cooking plates and pots to borrow to the ones hoping for it. She asked if we actually asked for one? No, we didn't. We should have, they have even those!

So no complaints here! Just pure recommendations! We loved the hotel! And that's mostly because the owners love people and enjoy working for their customers. And it shows!

We'll be back.

Ps. If any hesitations or questions, email the hotel. You'll get a quick and accurate answer.

Me todella viihdyttiin ja ensi kerralla varataan sama hotelli! Suosittelemme!

Room Tip: Rooms have different prices. Priced by the view. If you appreciate an uninterrupted view of the sea...

Dear Friend, thank you - such a lovely review! I am always so pleased when our guests love our hotel as much as we do. I always tell people that Coconut Court is a labour of love. What a great place to work too. I tell my staff; "these guests pay our wages and put food on the table for our families - mine included" so we look after them - and have fun doing it! Barbados is the New York of the Caribbean - fab beaches, friendly people and everything that you need to have a relaxing and quiet holiday or a rocking good time! What's not to love? You said that this was your first time to the Caribbean? l hope that it will not be your last to Barbados or to our Coconut Court. If you visit at the same time each year, you will be sure to see some familiar faces. Our repeaters enjoy meeting each other every year on holiday. I will look forward to welcoming you and your husband back to our little slice of paradise again soon. Don't take too long to come back!
One love, Linda, Jason, Mark and the Coconut team.

We stayed for 14 days at the Coconut Court hotel (Dec 2011 to Jan 2012).
Our impression is that the beach is the strong card of this hotel. The beach is quite nice if you like a quiet little lagoon to snorkle in and actually see lots of beautiful tropical marine species of fish. Also the natural shade from the coconut palms is unmatched in this area of the coast.
If a picture perfect beach with only sandy bottom in the ocean is what you are looking for then Accra beach would be a better bet (although both this and the little beach by the Hilton is within easy walking distance).

More problematic it was for us to feel comfortable with the general standard of the hotel itself. First off the staff was very helpful and serviceminded, the security guy and the activities desk in particular was very nice. So if staff was not the issue then what was ?

Well we stayed in a guestroom that was supposed to be one of the best (?) and the look was really tired, with noisy and not very good air conditioning. The bed was rock hard and most things broken like the shower head, the iron and the tea kettle (although they actually changed the iron and shower head for us!). What´s probably worst was the breakfast "buffet"... a few cereals and bread.. Still hungry ? You can buy an omelette for 18 Barbados dollars if you feel like it ...Also It feels strange that the two types of juice that are available both are made from concentrate... really ? In a tropical land, come on !

We had expected much more of a ´Bajan flair´ on the hotel, but it felt strongly that it caters to mostly british and american tourists that want their travel destination to be "just like home".
Lucky for us we did not take an all-inclusive package (that we actually considered at first). That would have landed us overpriced and mediocre food instead of letting us sample the many nice restaurants all around this beautiful island.
The BIG positive experience on our trip was in contact with the lovely Bajan people and just being on this tropical paradise destination. We loved Barbados but was unimpressed by the Coconut Court hotel.

Dear Friend, thanks for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. First of all please let me apologise for the issues that you experienced with your guest room. We usually get such great reviews from our customers about how clean and well serviced our property is kept. We may not be a five star hotel but cleanliness and having everything in working order is a top priority of ours. I apologise if you did not experience this.
Breakfast is advertised as a Continental breakfast and we provide coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cereals, toast and preserves, local pastries, fresh and tinned fruit, porridge etc. Just about every hotel and restaurant on the island serves juice made from concentrate. Our tropical island is the ninth most densely populated country in the world (most people dont know this)- what land is available for agriculture is planted with sugar cane for rum production. Our island is made of coral stone so it's not very fertile either. Just about all of the fruit and vegetables that you consume in Barbados is imported. That would explain why our food is more expensive than what you are accustomed to at home. Dont doubt for a minute though, we have some of the finest restaurants in the world and you can eat expensive or cheaply - and everything in between. We do not offer all inclusive at Coconut Court - I have pretty strong views on this subject....I don't think that this type of tourism is good for the economy of a country - everyone should have the oppurtunity to earn an honest living from tourism - not just an elite few. A bed and breakfast hotel like ours allows guests to choose for themselves where they would like to eat. They can choose to stay in and enjoy what we have to offer or they can venture out to experience what the rest of the island has to offer. Thankfully, most of our guests enjoy both eating in and out so everybody wins! I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us but I would encourage you to return to Barbados again in the future. We are a beautiful island in the sun! Best regards, Linda, Jason, Mark and the team at Coconut Court.

Well we went and confidently booked this hotel based on the reviews on this website and have to say they were very accurate. Yes it's not top end but has good sized clean rooms all with sea views (I think) and great value for money ie. holidaying in Barbados over Xmas!!
The gem here is the beach and the ocean, absolutely stunning I kid you not. Plenty of beds, space around you, under palm trees, dip in the sea every so often and back to the beach bar for happy hour - pretty perfect really.
Not too much around the immediate vicinity but a reggae bus comes every 2/3 minutes either way to Bridgetown or down to the Gap, this is so easy to do. Our thanks to the family who own this place and the atmosphere they've created.

Room Tip: You may want to go up from standard rooms depending on the rate, as they have better uninterupted se...

Dear Friend, I enjoyed reading your review, thank you. My family and staff are happy that you enjoyed your visit with us. No, we are not a top end hotel - if you are looking for that kind of thing then the West Coast will be more your style, Be warned though, be prepared to pay through the nose for that experience! They dont call it the platinum coast for nothing. However, my dad Charlie always believed in offering our guests good value for money in a clean and welcoming environment. He too believed in the importance of the beach and spent years seeking government permissions to enhance and protect the swimming area so that guests of all ages could relax and enjoy. The trees too were all planted by us so that guests could enjoy the beach for the whole day without getting a sunburn. We've seen what damage the tropical sun can do to those persons that did not respect it. There's nothing worse than heat stroke and third degree burns to ruin a holiday!
Thanks very much for choosing to spend your holidays with us and we hope to welcome you back soon again.

We just spent 2 weeks in room 56 on the top floor. The ocean view was fabulous from our balcony. The room had two double beds, excellent T.V.,excellent air conditioner, fridge, toaster, kettle, and some cutlery. Hotel staff very friendly and efficient - our room was always cleaned by noon. No shortage of beach chairs which you could on in the sun or under the shade of the coconut trees. Ted's island tour is a must. We enjoyed our stay in Barbados at the Coconut Court.

Dear Friend, thank you for taking the time to write this informative review about your recent stay with us at Coconut Court. Room 56 is a Superior Oceanview Room and it does enjoy lovely views from the top floor of the hotel. These rooms are the largest in the hotel as well with plenty of room for a long holiday. There's nothing worse than spending two weeks together in a shoe box. Thank you for mentioning all of our staff, good housekeeping team and my brother Ted. All are an asset Coconut Court. Please come and visit us again soon.
Best regards, Linda, Jason, Mark and the team at Coconut Court.

We first stayed at Coconut Court in December 2010.
Our second visit was in December 2011.
We have just booked our third holiday for April/May this year.
We like the friendliness of the staff, who are all very helpful, and the relaxed Bajan way of life.
The hotel is lovely, right on the beach, plenty of sunbeds, and trees if you want some shade.
The boardwalk is not far away if you want some exercise in the morning. Plenty of eating places nearby if you want them, especially "Tapas" on the boardwalk.
We cant wait to go back.

Room Tip: We have had Superior Beachfront rooms which look out onto the beach and the sea and I can reccommend...
