Coconut Court was really nice and cozy it was everything that I had wanted for my staycation for my daughter's 11th birthday. Special thanks for all the staff that made us comfortable from the easy booking to when we got in our room and had a slight problem with the AC but maintenance and management got on top of the situation in no time and switched our rooms. I want to give a big shout out to Mark the waiter that made my kids very happy. Wish I had more time and money to have stayed longer but for sure this will not be our last. Thanks guys :)

I have stayed here twice in the last few months which just goes to show how nice it is. It is a very welcoming family hotel which has a great location on the beach. The beach is not ideal for swimming but is very safe and is kept extremely clean, tidy and the gardens are very well kept. I have experienced two different guest rooms, both of which i was very happy with. The staff are extraordinarily friendly, including the owners. The hotel and grounds are very clean. The location enables you to visit many places by foot or bus including Bridgetown and St Lawrence Gap.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the superior ocean view which are the most recently refurbished

Ok, we arrived 5am! They put us in an unfurnished room although my husband had spoken to someone and we thought we were getting the refurbished. But too tired to complain etc we decided to deal with it in the morning. They said $10 to upgrade to a refurbished room, with a 'kitchenette" - micro, kettle, four plate stove and small fridge. We did. But the facilities for cooking are minimal, so we only had our breakfast in the room. However, we were top floor had a wonderful view. The beach bar minimal, but the best bartender ever… Antonio! So attentive, remembers your names and is running, yeah, running to get you your drinks! Also, I loved the shade on the beach, I do not suntan, and found so much shade, love that. If I were with small children, perfect place, maybe I return with grand children, perfect place. Enjoyed it very much, would go back, if i were one to return, but there is so much to see in this world… so we also decided to try out the West Coast…

Room Tip: ask to see them, with kids lower floor in front of pool

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. We had a standard room but it was fine, we could see the sea from our room very well since all rooms face the sea (but you may not be able to see it if you are on the ground floor). The room was not renovated, which is fine, but they could invest some money into changing the towels, which are incredibly old. Everything else was fine. Staff was really friendly and everything you need is there. The beach is gorgeous. The hotel is conveniently located - it is close to everything if you take a local bus. There are good places to eat around it too. The highway is next to the hotel and it is loud during the day but it did not bother us at all during the night. I would definitely come back to the Coconut Court.

Stayed here for 2 weeks in July 2014. Wasn't sure after the mixed reviews but decided to take the chance. 2 adults and 2 kids aged 7.

Rooms:
We had one of the un-refurbished rooms but it was on the top floor and so had an amazing view of the sea from the balcony even though the room was not an 'ocean view' priced room. Clean and functional with a microwave, toaster-grill and kettle. Also basic cutlery and dinnerware provided. Fridge small but perfectly reasonable. Freezer was useless so don't leave anything in there! Beds were good size, range of pillows provided as well. TV old but with lots of US channels for kids and adults alike. Good wifi connection all through the hotel, pool area and even beach to some extent. Great and very welcome AC unit, all remote controlled.

Service:
Really nice people all through the hotel, from reception through to activities desk and security. Nothing was too much trouble, even when our fridge had an issue at 9pm, a maintenance guy arrived within 5 mins and sorted the problem.

Location:
Right on the south coast, with easy access to restaurants/bus/taxis etc. If you are a walker, its about 15mins down to accra beach going East and 15 mins to the Garrison Area going West.
10 mins walk from Lanterns mall which has a lovely new indian place called Chutney, a subway, Chinese place, Lebanese place and a Caribbean place. Also has an I-mart with a good selection of pretty much everything. Right opposite the hotel, there is a small convenience store and a restaurant called mama mia, standard Italian fare. The hotel also has a shop in its lobby area selling basics.

Beach/pool:
1 medium sized pool with good clean area. Just been repainted so all nice and shiny! Direct access to the beach with beach bar. Lovely clean beach with free loungers. Reef directly in front of the hotel means that the sea is calm most days with the most awesome snorkelling opportunities, even for kids. Jacuzzi is also clean. Deck area is clean with shaded areas if you're not a sun worshipper!

Other stuff:

1. Hotel has a free shuttle to Bridgetown at 930 each morning
2. Activities desk has standard choice with reasonable prices. Didn't do any tours with them so can't comment on quality.
3. Access to boardwalk is great, just down the beach. Lovely walk in the evening.
4. Restaurant has themed nights each night but we didn't try any so can't comment. However, they will make pretty much anything you ask for so don't be afraid to ask!
5. Launderette about 5-7 mins walk, $20 per load and they do it all for you, lovely to come home to laundered and folded clothes that just need to be put away!

As it is low season, on most days we had the pool to ourselves and about 10 people on the beach max. Good mix of nationalities as well, lots of Europeans as well as travellers from the US and England.

Not the fanciest of places but for the reasonable price, its a lovely place, would return.

.

Room Tip: High room if you don't mind stairs, will provide a great view

My husband and I stayed here for the second time, and it was as good as the first. We opted for self catering as we enjoy the freedom that gives, we did eat at the hotel a couple of times and also at their Blue Room sports bar across the road. The food was always delicious, the ribs were amazing, so moist and tasty. Room was spacious and had all equipment we needed for self catering. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The pool area is well laid out and always able to get sunbeds. I'm not keen on sunbathing on the beach, but here too there were plenty sunbeds. There is a small beach bar, which was nice to sit at late afternoon/early evening. Buses run pass the hotel every 10mins or so making it easy to get around the island. Can't wait to go back again.

My wife and I were at the Coconut court in May for 10days. It was our wedding anniversary and the staff at the hotel had a complimentary bottle sparkling wine in ice, some flowers and a hand made card. My wife was overjoyed. This hotel is great, staff are wonderful and helpful
WE had a ground floor room near the pool, hot tub and beach. Food was good.
One word sums up this hotel and location, PARADISE. We will be back on December 3rd for 2 weeks. Beach is great and the bar of course.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, Fridge could be a little bigger, but really not a problem.
