The food here is nothing extra special but the staff and Blades family are second to none. Had a few poolside lunches here - food was fine and service was, as always, exceptional. Can't wait to be back in the autumn.

“Lovely sea view restaraunt”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

This Coconut Court restaurant is a magical place to dine. We ate there many times during our 2 week stay in Barbados. We sat overlooking the sea some nights, & another night or two we ate Alfresco with a barbeque at this hotel. The Deck restaurant is a very very friendly place to eat, & the staff really go out of their way to accommodate to you're every need & all with a friendly smile! The prices are very reasonable for a hotel, & you are spoilt for choice with their very variable choice of delicacies on the menu. I went for the steak on more than one occasion & was never disappointed, but the HUGE burgers are to die for!!
This restaurant is a must to visit....You won't be disappointed!

“Poor continental breakfast & kitchen orders take too long (if you can get a menu)! Why not offer buffet breakfast?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

Rating a meal at The Deck Restaurant depends upon what time of day you're dining as it varies greatly. For those who stay as guests, the breakfasts leave a lot to be desired. The continental buffet is always toast and small plastic cups of jam with some (usually non-tropical) whole fruit. Quite disappointing really.

Trying to obtain a menu to order something out of the kitchen is a nightmare. It's almost as if they really would like to discourage guests from having cooked food for breakfast. Having stayed here a few times over the years, we wonder why the hotel just doesn't offer a full buffet breakfast and include it in the room rate!

We listen daily to guests at neighbouring tables expressing the same sentiment about the poor quality of the continental breakfast every time we visit! When will management do something about it?

We've now started going across the road to the Marriott Courtyard for breakfast. No guest of one hotel should have to leave to go to another due to the lack of proper breakfast options!

The staff are often pleasant, especially the bar staff. You can see that they're trying but they do not quite meet up to international service expectations.

The lunch menu remains largely unchanged or special. Just the usually casual / fast food sort of menu dominated by the burgers, fries, sandwiches and wings offerings. The exception is their Sunday lunch buffet which is substantial and tasty and filled with local dishes!

Dinner depends on whether it's a la carte or themed. For old year's night dinner, there was an international buffet which wasn't bad at all. But pasta night for instance, I had the spicy tomato sauce and it was simply over the top with spice! And this coming from a Trinidadian who loves everything with pepper! It was so hot it was not enjoyable at all. Service was lacking both nights. Basically too few servers for the number of patrons.

Really with a little attention by management to continuous training with some menu and kitchen changes, and the restaurant could thrive and go from mediocre to very good. The nicest thing about the restaurant in fact is not the food or the service, but the view. It is very calming to look out onto the beach and waters beyond. It’s a really lovely way to wake up in the morning, if only we could have coffee service at our table and the type of breakfasts most guests are longing to enjoy during their stay at Coconut Court.

“Great value for money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2014

Have recently returned from Barbados, staying at Coconut Court Beach hotel.

Since I was last there in 2011, they have changed caterers and now they have theme nights through the week with live entertainment and the food is great.

They have a Curry night, Steak/Barbecue night and also superb Bajan Buffet lunch on a Sunday.

They also have the Seagrapes Beach Bar which serves a variety of snacks and sandwiches as well as a full range of drinks.

Make sure that Antonio is working behind the bar, he is probably the best barman on the island, just look at him go across the sand with a full tray of drinks!!!!

The catering is now run by a lovely Lady called Margaret and great staff.

“Loving the view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2014 via mobile

We had a table right by the beach. We were quick to get seated and the service was prompt and friendly. Prices weren't bad considering the location. Food portions were normal and food tasted good - menu not anything overly special.

Happy hour is available at certain times.
