You can’t beat the location! Right on the gorgeous white sandy beach! The front of the house is on a noisy busy street but the back totally makes up for it. The house offers everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. Lots of towels! We slept in the one air conditioned room which was awesome. Open all the windows and get a lovely breeze throughout. The large balcony has a patio table, chairs and loungers. We’d sit out there every morning and watch for the turtles. We saw one every day! There’s also an outside shower! The beautiful palm tree right out front provided some much needed shade. The cottage is located close to many amenities...grocery store, bank, bus stops, restaurants, fish market, Friday night Fish Fry( a must go!) and Miami Beach all within walking distance.
We had a wonderful 10 nights in this cottage and would definitely return!
We could not have picked a better place. Goodwyn beach cottage is in an exceptional location. The beach right at the back of the house is beautiful. Rarely anyone but us on it. We spent so much time on the beautiful patio watching the sea turtles swimming by just steps away from us.
No car was needed. The bus stop is very close by. The grocery store is 2 minutes walking distance, very well supplied. The fish market is also very close by and going to Friday night fish fry was very convenient as it as well walking distance.
The house is well maintained. It has everything needed. The bedroom with the a/c was nice to have in those warm nights and the kids were comfortable in the bedroom with the ceiling fan and the sea view. The internet connection was great all around the house and even on the patio!
Kathy was very helpful and made sure we had everything needed.
If you're looking for a simple house to stay in the most amazing location, right on a beautiful beach, Goodwyn beach cottage is for you.
We will most definitely come back.
Unbeatable location, lovely house, fantastic patio.
We spent the entire holiday on the patio which is very spacious and has a large number of very comfortable chairs and beds. The location is to die for, right on a very quiet beach that almost feels private (there are no private beaches in Barbados). The house is the only one on this stretch of beach with a palm in front of it and the palm is a godsend, providing some shade during most of the day and making sitting on the patio really comfortable - whilst the sun worshippers could still sit in the sunny spots on the patio or on the beach. The lovely sea breeze makes you forget how hot it really is, until you decide to go somewhere and it hits you....then you can't wait to get back to your slice of paradise where after a refreshing sea bath, at night, you can fall asleep to the sound of the crashing waves.
The supermarket and the bus stops are two minutes away. Oistins fish market is 5 mins away and the kitchen is very well equipped with all utensils one might need.
Towels and bedding are provided, together with a maid service.
The owner, Kathy, is very pleasant, responsive and overall lovely to deal with.
We will definitely come back next year!
