If you are thinking of taking a holiday to Barbados, BOOK IT! I would truly recommend visiting this spectacular island. My friend and I stayed in St Lawrence Gap from 3 – 10th July 2014 at the Time Out Hotel, which is a 15 minute drive away from the airport. We were greeted by the hotel’s friendly reception staff and the twin bed room we booked matched the description written online. You can put small belongings in the safe provided in the room. We had continental breakfast everyday which consisted of croissants, toast, cereal, fruit, tea and orange juice. The hotel is clean and has areas to relax - bar area, outdoor swimming pool and lobby. This hotel is fantastic for its location. You have everything you need from supermarkets, gift shops, clubs, bars, sports court, accessible transport and Bajan restaurants nearby. Dover Beach is 1 minute walk away. Tourists have the opportunity to indulge in water sports, beach activities or simply lying on a sunbed and getting a tan! There are a variety of restaurants to eat along the strip (The Gap) offering tourists a taste of local cuisines. The currency accepted is US Barbados Dollars and Barbados Dollars. Buying food is cheaper than eating out in the UK. For local excursions and places to visit, go to Oistins on a Friday night, the Catamaran Cruise, Harbour Lights Party, the capital – Bridgetown and Harrisons Cave. It is better to buy tickets in the country than to pre-book from the UK. Also I’d recommend hiring a 4 x 4, go on a private tour or persuade a taxi driver to take you on an Island tour. Along the journey, you’ll sight-see the local attractions and landscapes as well as experience the breath-taking paradise beaches. The locals are very friendly, helpful and make the experience extra special. Ooh and don’t forget to treat yourself to a Chefette!

This was our 6th time in Barbados but the 2nd time on the south coast, This is the ideal place to do Barbados "on the cheap"
The hotel is very clean and welcoming and the staff are very helpful.
The beach is just across the road and a number of restaurants close by offer great value for money
It was that good we are returning to Time Out in April 2015 can't wait

This is my 3rd Cropover (Barbados Carnival) trip and it is always a pleasure staying in this property. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfy. For the price, you cannot get a better option in terms of location. It's nestled right at the gap (party/dining central) across from the beach and down the block from a small grocery/convenience store.

The staff are amazing! My faves are Pierre at the front desk & Anson. Any issue or concern can likely be handled by either person. Additionally, the management can and will bend over backwards to ensure your stay is as pleasurable as possible. In more than one occasion General Manager Alicia has sat down personally with me at breakfast to discuss suggestions and to hear concerns. Assistant manager Donna has also gone above and beyond to ensure my room was accommodated with additional requests.

The resturant staff is equally awesome. Morning waiter Akeem, afternoon waiter Ryan and manager Aaron get a huge thumbs up. Aaron by far is motivation behind a great staff.

The only negative aspect of Time Out is the poor wifi. While on a carnival/beach vacation, my demographic (ages 25-35) enjoy social media, video chat and MAJOR picture posting. Engaging in these activities was SERIOUSLY limited by the bad internet connections. Only the lobby had good service. There was a constant flow of people trying to connect to wifi in the lounge space ): I was however, assured that more permanent wifi upgrades and solutions would be made.

Staying at this property is like visiting my second home. I feel welcomed, supported and catered to. I'll continue to book at Time Out for the foreseeable future...especially with the wifi improvements!!!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are big and good in value...they even have triples! Imagine how big a room is with two...

Stayed here for one week room 220. The hotel is ideally positioned on St Lawrence Gap. Room was basic and clean, and the staff are very nice and welcoming. Air-conditioned room with two double beds, free Wi-Fi a fridge and a safe. I was even able to pick up Wi-Fi on the beach! We booked our tours with Virgin holidays and they were brilliant. Harrison caves, island bus tour, supersonic shopping with concord experience. Barbados is a small island so you can get around very easily. $2 buses run around the island or you can charter a taxi. There are drivers outside the hotel.

Dover beach across the road is simply beautiful. $5 for a chair, there are places to eat and drink.

We had room only but there are many places to eat nearby. Had breakfast a couple of times on site and the food was very nice and reasonably priced. Oistens is worth a visit on a Friday.

Time out is where I will stay again on my next trip to Barbados. Hopefully sooner rather than later!!

(Prices quoted are Barbadian dollars)

Room Tip: Room 220 was on the first floor near the stairs. As there are no lifts it was easy for me to take m...

I stayed at time out hotel from 27th July – 6th August 2014. The hotel was in the best location right on Dover beach. The room we was given was on the third floor, a very charming gent took our bags to the room for us. The receptionist was very welcoming and smiley.
Our room was very big and had extremely high ceilings. The bathroom was basic but very clean. The cleaner came to the room everyday and did a wonderful job.
Myself and my friend had a lovely stay here. All staff where pleasant and helpful.
The pool was nice and clean, bath towels, beach towels and linen changed all the time. Air con in the room was good and much needed.
Once you come out the hotel you have to take literally maybe 50 steps to be at the beach. St Lawrence gap night life is maybe a 6/7 minute walk from the hotel which was FAB!..
The hotel was dead quiet at night also which was lovely…
I would definitely stay here again.. amazing value for your money.

Also the sporting pig restaurant attached to the hotel was amazing with lovely staff (especially Aaron, think he was the bar/restaurant manager).

We went to Time Out as a team of 9 people for the Barbados Rally Carnival.
On arrival we were greeted by happy, smiling, staff who were very accommodating and helpfull.
Booking in was pain free and soon we were settled into our rooms.
The rooms although not luxurious were very clean and more than we expected going room only.
The Pool was very clean and we were soon settling in the Bar for a meal.
Food was superb and very fairly priced and good selection.
Breakfast was also very good on the mornings we decided to bother and again well priced.
All in all we had a great stay, it suited our needs exactly. Its not 5 star rated but we weren't looking for that.
Without a doubt it was 5 Star for us in terms of service, cleanliness and friendliness and PRICE.
I Loved my 18 night stay there and look forward to it again in 2015
Well done to all at Time Out we'll be back !
Arthur Weatherly.

Time out was a lovely place to stay, the staff were pleasant and our room and bathroom was very clean. I stayed in a deluxe room with a friend which was nice and large enough for two girls with lots of stuff! We did not eat in the hotel as we were only staying for a week and there are so many places to eat and drink in Barbados. The hotel is nice and quiet at night and the beds are really comfy and the room has air conditioning for the humid nights you expect to have in Barbados. It is close to all the action on the gap and it is easy to get a bus or taxi to where ever you made need to go. If your a person who likes to use the hotel as a place to sleep and shower and then spend your holiday actually exploring the country you are visiting then time out is perfect, I would definitely stay there again. It added to the lovely time that I had in Barbados.

Room Tip: choose a deluxe room if you like space! we had more than enough space with two people sharing a delu...
