We stayed at the this hotel for 3 nights right after hurricane Tomas went through Barbados.
The staff was extremely gracious and the restaurant is fantastic. Our suite was terrific with a separate sitting room and a balcony. The hotel has a very intimate feel and we would definitely stay there again

If you want to stay somewhere new and refreshing on the West Cost away or you are a first timer to Barbados then Cobblers is for you. My husband and i stayed here from 24th October for 4 nights (the last 4 nights of our Honeymoon) and could not have wished for a more relaxing time before unfortunately coming home. From our welcome arrival the service was seamless - before finishing our complimentary welcome drink at the bar no sooner had all our cases and golf clubs been unloaded from our hire car into our beautiful suite and we were then invited for afternoon tea - not to be missed. Stunning selection of finger sanwiches, fresh scones and naughty treats on offer. Managers cocktail party also worth a mention....Randall is a charming host who will go beyond the call of duty to oversee that every part of your stay is seamless. With great fresh meats and fish on offer at the BBQ and an array of starters and mains and desserts you really are spoilt for choice.

We stayed at Cobblers in April, which was our second visit to this wonderful hotel. We had liked it so much the year before, we changed our wedding venue to Cobblers. As it turned out, their arrangements for us we absolutely fantastic.

We were greeted with a glass of Cobblers special rum punch (very potent after long flight!) and then found out that we had been upgraded to a marvellous penthouse suite on account of the fact we were getting married.

Throughout our entire stay, we could not have been looked after better by all the staff, especially Joan and Yvette, who arranged our wedding and thoroughly looked after us. On both our visits, we felt the staff became our friends.

Prior to the wedding, I had e-mailed Cobblers to ask if they could organise a hairdresser, and Joan replied and said that a hairdresser called Donna Smith (hairstylebydonna.com) would be there on the morning. Donna arrived with her laptop, showing me some photos of what style I might like. To say I was dumbfounded by what she may be able to do with my ordinary bob was an undertatement, but an hour later my hair looked absolutely amazing. She also styled our guests and bridesmaids. It turned out she was hairdresser to many visiting celebrities on the island. I will always be grateful that because of her talent, we have some amazing wedding photographs.

The restaurant at Cobblers is second to none. The head chef Brian Porteous is Irish, and creates some amazing dishes, which coupled with the setting of the restaurant by the Caribbean sea was thoroughly enjoyable, and so relaxing. The menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner is outstanding, and we could have happily eaten at Cobblers every evening.

We honestly cannot think of anything negative about our wedding, holiday or Cobblers. Really cannot recommend it enough, and already have our next holiday booked with them. Our special thanks to Joan, Yvette, Donna, Randall, Gregory, and all the other smiley staff who looked after us so well.

Our second trip to Cobblers Cove following our visit last August, and we were not disappointed in any way. This is a really special hotel with a great team of people who all care about making your stay just right. As usual nothing was too much trouble, and even the weather couldn't ruin our day. If you want somewhere quiet with outstanding service, great food and facilities, this is the place to go. The scenery is pretty good too!

Just returned after a lovely stay at Cobblers. Upon arrival we were greeted with cold towels to refresh us. That was followed by 2 tropical drinks to enjoy as we were shown to our room. This visit we were in room #4 (upstairs) which was one of 6 deluxe suites directly in front of the ocean. What a perfect suite. Our very private balcony looked out over the sea for some gorgeous scenery – especially sunsets.

Our suite was very roomy – it was fully air-conditioned and had ceiling fans as well. We had a couch and a couple of comfortable chairs in the living room with a large coffee table and also a writing desk. Also as you went towards the mini bar area there was a small table with 2 chairs where we could have room service if we so desired.

There was a large dressing area where we also found our in-room safe, iron, ironing board, and trousers press, etc. and a place to store our luggage. Down the hall from this you entered a large bathroom. There were double sinks and also English soaps and robes for us to enjoy.

We arrived too late to enjoy the afternoon tea the day we arrived, but did get to enjoy it the rest of our stay. It’s served between 4 and 5 pm near the pool area. Lots of yummy sweets and finger sandwiches to enjoy along with teas, coffee, lemonade and water.
That evening prior to dinner we stopped by the bar for a couple of cocktails. The barman, Pearson, was entertaining and made some really delicious drinks. By the way, when Cobblers is closed from sometime in September to mid-October for its annual refurbishing, upon reopening the entire bar area will be redone with lots of marble and new décor.

Next we enjoyed a fabulous meal at the candle light restaurant– one of our best on the island. My husband had the Red Snapper (probably caught by Barker that day) and however they prepared it was fabulous. My meal as well was wonderful.

Mornings we enjoyed a full English breakfast – beautiful tropical fruit platters were set out at one table along with pastries, and yogurts and breakfast cereals. Then you ordered whatever you wanted off of their menu and it was prepared fresh.

The staff was wonderful and greeted you by name. We were also personally welcomed by the warm and wonderful Manager, Randy Wilke. He’s constantly around the property making sure everything is running smoothly.

We had a wonderful stay at this Relais & Chateau property and hope to return really soon.

Spent 8 nights here in August 2010. In fact I'm writing the review from my room at Cobblers Cove. Overall, a wonderful experience. Unable to fault anything really. I travel extensively around the world and stay in great hotels wherever I go. Often Relais & Chateaux.
Once you understand that Barbados is a laid back, friendly colonial Island, then everything else just fits into place nicely.
Yes there are newer hotels around the world, but very few with the charm and homely feel of Cobblers. Staff were fabulous throughout the week and could not be helpful enough. The other guests were also nice as were the neighbours and the guys hawking jewelry on the beach. No hassle, just friendly banter.

Would only criticise that menu for being a little slow to change over the week, but there are plenty of great restaurants within 15 mins taxi if you want a change.

Not ideal perhaps for teenagers, but a romantic hideaway, not much better.

We have stayed in fine hotels around the world, and the gracious, warm and intuitive service at Cobblers Cove equals or exceeds all of them. From the moment we arrived until (sadly) we departed eight days later, we could not have been better taken care of. Every person - from the bellman to the receptionist to the waitstaff to the general manager - was genuinely friendly and accommodated our every need. The rooms were exceptionally spacious, scrupulously clean and so well positioned in their serene garden setting that it often seemed as if no one else was there. The food in the hotel's oceanfront restaurant was simply outstanding, a genuine rarity in the Caribbean. All in all, Cobblers Cove is an exemplary small hotel for those looking for true luxury and relaxation rather than flash and frenetic activity. We understand why so many guests have returned year after year, and already look forward to returning ourselves.
