We had a great weekend stay at the Hotel Chateau Clery at Hesdin -- L'Abbe on the Somme .We arrived late afternoon and I must say that the floodlit entrance is very imposing and welcoming. Certainly has the wow factor ! Parking was easy
Reception was very friendly and efficient. The room was certainly adequate if a tad small , but all the usual facilities were available. A very comfortable bed as well !
There was also a very pleasant bar area and a most acceptable selection of armagnac !
But the main reason for recommending the Hotel was the superb food . Really , really good and beautifully served . The wine list also provided a good selection of regional wines , reasonably priced The restaurant itself was divided into two areas : one in the main building and the other in the adjoining conservatory . Both were very comfortable although I thought that the conservatory might be a bit cold in the winter . But the main restaurant area was very warm so you had the choice.
Breakfast was ok ( hot or cold ) but not really on the same standard as the evening meal . No complaints though !
All in all , I'd definitely stay there again

We returned again after several visits to take advantage of Hotel Clery's November special offer.
A warm welcome, lovely room, peaceful stay, excellent dinner, ample breakfast, friendly staff and all enjoyed within an authentic piece of French rural history.
Although quite pricey, we have paid much more in other French hotels and received much less!

Room Tip: Rooms in annexe are larger and more modern.

We have been staying here several times a year for the last 15 years- ie long before the present management. It is well situated, they always remember us, the rooms are excellent, and the meals are high class parking convenient, you can stroll in the grounds or in the village to stretch your legs. What more is there to say ?.

Room Tip: The rooms in the main house avoid any weather problems, but there are umbrellas to borrow

We stayed for two nights in early November. We did drive straight past the gates on arrival (better signage on the roadside might be useful), but the hotel was comfortable and our Luxe room was spacious and located in the main chateau overlooking the beautiful gardens to the rear of the property. The only very small criticism I would make regarding the room was that the shower in the bath was awkward to use as there was nowhere to attach the showerhead to the wall. As far as the restaurant was concerned we really enjoyed the food, and although with the menu we had chosen only gave three choices for each course we were more than happy with our meal on both evenings. Both the restaurant area and the orangerie were wonderful locations for the evening meal, and breakfast (an excellent variety of hot and cold choices), was available in the same location. The staff were all very friendly and courteous and we were made to feel very welcome. We would definitely consider returning to this hotel.

We had serious problems due to a ghastly accident at home and the hotel was brilliant at accommodating to our needs and rescheduling our stay. The receptionist who dealt with us was a darling and so considerate that we were very touched. Our bedroom in the fermette was absolutely lovely, the only drawback being the walk back from the main building in pouring rain in the dark. Service was impeccable as on previous stay with charming and helpful staff and we were delighted to see our favourite waitress back despite having herself had an ankle injury a fortnight earlier. The menu in our package was very good and we really enjoyed the food. We treated our son and his family and the only complaint was that our grandson did not like the bunk bed in the ante chamber adjoining their room which he found uncomfortable and he went to sleep on a sofa in their room instead. He is an only child so perhaps over indulged, and we feel he might have felt differently if he had a sibling with him. No matter, we shall return and enjoy as a twosome next time.

Room Tip: The rooms in the fermette are more expensive but delightful and very spacious.

Stayed here for four nights for our wedding anniversary in early September. What an excellent hotel. Our room was in the stables and was just superb - very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. We thought we would only eat here once, but the food was absolutely superb - both in flavour, variety and presentation and we ended up eating here every evening. The staff were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our pre-dinner glass of champagne each evening. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and will definitely be back.

A truly beautiful hotel matched by a very comfortable room and professional and helpful staff.
The restaurant meal was outstanding in terms of quality and value for money. A meal of comparable quality in London would be substantially more expensive.

Room Tip: The annexe rooms are very comfortable but if the weather is bad a room in the main hotel may be the...
