We spent last weekend at the Cléry and had a wonderful time. Park location and historic building are inspiring, room was outstanding, all the staff were super friendly and going the extra mile to assist the visitors, food and wine were extraordinary,... Warmy recommended for a break with lots af high quality time at a resonable cost

Room Tip: We had suite 39, outstanding accommodation

No complaints save that the person in the bar considers that a Pimm's cocktail concerns Pimm's and lemonade only. Dinner in the Restaurant (fixed price meal) represented very good value for money.Nothing further to say.

We enjoyed a relaxing break for our Anniversary at Hotel Cheteau Clery. A beautiful building with nice grounds in a nice village only 30mins drive from Calais. We highly recommend you upgrade to the Deluxe Room if you are offered this for an extra 10 Euros a night. The rooms are bigger and more quiet with views of the forest from the room. The evening meal was excellent. Presentation was beautiful and the food tasted delightful. Definitely beats Londons Michelin Star Restaurants. Breakfast was more than we expected with fresh bread, sausages, scrambled eggs, yoghurt, coffee, juice, croissants, salami and more. The free bottled water was also nice in the room. We would definitely visit again for a romantic break.

There are however some suggested Improvements for hotel:

Some of the restaurant staff didn't speak any English and the menu wasn't translated into English. I believe there should be a Menu in English to improve the experience. Staff would not need to translate then.

When upgrading the room the Deluxe room was cold as the heaters were switched off. We switched heaters on and the room warmed up after a few hours. Perhaps upgrades should be offered before arrival so the room is warm when guests arrive especially in winter.

Room Tip: Upgrade to Deluxe if offered

We had a great weekend stay at the Hotel Chateau Clery at Hesdin -- L'Abbe on the Somme .We arrived late afternoon and I must say that the floodlit entrance is very imposing and welcoming. Certainly has the wow factor ! Parking was easy
Reception was very friendly and efficient. The room was certainly adequate if a tad small , but all the usual facilities were available. A very comfortable bed as well !
There was also a very pleasant bar area and a most acceptable selection of armagnac !
But the main reason for recommending the Hotel was the superb food . Really , really good and beautifully served . The wine list also provided a good selection of regional wines , reasonably priced The restaurant itself was divided into two areas : one in the main building and the other in the adjoining conservatory . Both were very comfortable although I thought that the conservatory might be a bit cold in the winter . But the main restaurant area was very warm so you had the choice.
Breakfast was ok ( hot or cold ) but not really on the same standard as the evening meal . No complaints though !
All in all , I'd definitely stay there again

We returned again after several visits to take advantage of Hotel Clery's November special offer.
A warm welcome, lovely room, peaceful stay, excellent dinner, ample breakfast, friendly staff and all enjoyed within an authentic piece of French rural history.
Although quite pricey, we have paid much more in other French hotels and received much less!

Room Tip: Rooms in annexe are larger and more modern.

We have been staying here several times a year for the last 15 years- ie long before the present management. It is well situated, they always remember us, the rooms are excellent, and the meals are high class parking convenient, you can stroll in the grounds or in the village to stretch your legs. What more is there to say ?.

Room Tip: The rooms in the main house avoid any weather problems, but there are umbrellas to borrow

We stayed for two nights in early November. We did drive straight past the gates on arrival (better signage on the roadside might be useful), but the hotel was comfortable and our Luxe room was spacious and located in the main chateau overlooking the beautiful gardens to the rear of the property. The only very small criticism I would make regarding the room was that the shower in the bath was awkward to use as there was nowhere to attach the showerhead to the wall. As far as the restaurant was concerned we really enjoyed the food, and although with the menu we had chosen only gave three choices for each course we were more than happy with our meal on both evenings. Both the restaurant area and the orangerie were wonderful locations for the evening meal, and breakfast (an excellent variety of hot and cold choices), was available in the same location. The staff were all very friendly and courteous and we were made to feel very welcome. We would definitely consider returning to this hotel.
