When we had lunch at Papa Joe's on a Friday we enjoyed the calm and relaxed atmosphere since there were hardly a dozen guests in the restaurant at that time. This may be different in the evening because the colorful, deliberately chaotic decoration and the nice bar scene promise that this attractive place will be busier then.
We only saw a single waiter on duty who was friendly, competent and efficient. He never kept us waiting. So, immediately after having taken a seat we already received the menus. Both their design and the dishes that they comprise are equally creative as the styling of this restaurant. In addition to the permanent menu, at lunchtime also two or three dishes of the day are available. Immediately after having finished the soup, the main courses arrived, including one that had been chosen from the permanent menu. Thus, not only the waiter but also the cook was speedy.
All the dishes were tasty and spicy, but nonetheless not too hot. Papa Joe's cook seems to be a specialist in preparing meat, all kinds of which turned out to be tender and juicy. The prices of the dishes correspond to the common price level of decent restaurants in town. Only steaks may be an exception in this respect. Who is fond of a full sized steak should order it at Papa Joe's. You will not get a comparable steak for such a competitive price anywhere else in this area.
