“great food, a little remote”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 November 2013

Corte del Lupo is a pleasant place, and host Andrea was full of interesting information about the great food he served and for local sites of interest. We had a pleasant, quiet room, and the meals were terrific; the dinners some of the best on our 3-week trip in Italy. Because it was already fall and weather was cool, we were unable to make use of the pleasant garden and pool area. For a touring base, we found the B&B a little remote, a long drive down small country roads. For us, the Italian dinner hour of 8 PM was difficult, as we would return to our room around 5:30 or 6, tired from a day of sightseeing, then have a long wait until dinner at 8, and then go to bed after 10 with a full stomach. Even though the dinners were excellent, one night we ate at a simple deli in Nocera Umbra, just in order to eat earlier.

We stayed for four days with half board and it was very lovely. Great food, cooked with a lot of homemade ingredients from the farm. If you are planning to stay here, then half boarded is a must. The four course dinner is fantastic and there is a big variation in the dishes from day to day. The house itself is also really nice with a big common area with books, table tennis, fussball etc. and not to forget; a nice swimming pool where you can relax.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at La Corte del Lupo. When we arrived we were greeted by Andrea who showed us to our room, we had a lovely room with a terrace which overlooked the garden and pool. The breakfasts were really good, but the dinners were excellent, all being prepared by Andrea and Marcella, using organic products from the farm, so tasty !!!
We found the location just right for visiting all the interesting towns In the region of Assisi, Spello,Gubbio, and Spoleto and Corte del Lupo was just the perfect place to return to, to relax after a busy day sight seeing. Finally the owners cannot do enough for you, Andrea provided us with a map of the area and suggested places to visit with routes having the most fabulous views of the Umbria. Overall a really fantastic place to stay.

We stayed for a week with half board. Breakfasts are good, but dinners were really excellent - loads of the farm's produce is served including really tasty meats from their organic pigs. Pasta, gnocci, cakes and pastries were all very good too.
Rooms and pool are also nice, and location great for local Umbrian sites like Assisi. And finally, very helpful and nice owners. I'd really recommend it.

We used this agriturismo as a base for Umbria and found it close to the neighboring towns. We loved Assisi, Spello, Spoleto, Norcia, Gubbio and the Grotte frassisisi especially. Our host, Andrea, was amazing, providing us with maps and a knowledgeable daily itinerary for the area. He cooked the amazing dinners which were very reasonable for the quantity and quality of food that was prepared. He took great pride in explaining the composition of each dish which was made with organic and local ingredients. His homemade salamis were superb. The agriturismo was comfortable and felt like a home away from home. We were spoiled by Andrea with a lovely cup of tea after each day's journey and nothing was too much trouble despite how busy he is on a daily basis. I highly recommend this excellent agriturismo.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a bath. We had a room with a bath and shower.

We arrived at Corte del Lupo after a wonderful week with 13 friends in a Tuscan villa and wondered what to expect. Well the first treat was that by putting "Vocabolo Pertana" in the GPS and driving from Siena we arrived at the doorstep without any problems. What a lovely relaxed setting was our first observation and all in pristine condition. We were welcomed by Andrea and given a perfect room with peaceful country views. Then to dinner and I'm pleased to say that we were looked after splendidly with excellent variety and useful commentary on each course. The local organic ingredients make a big difference and the veal was some of the best meat I have ever tasted. Breakfast always offered a choice of sweet or savoury (local cheeses and home mage sausage) including "lupella" - even better than nutella. It was nice to see wine included each evening in the very reasonable half-board package as well as a little digestif or coffee after dinner.
With help from our new friends, including Marcella and Massimiliano we spent some wonderful days seeing the sights of Assisi and Perugia as well as trips to Norcia, Orvieto and the villages of Spello, Bevagna and Montefalco. We had a most enjoyable Sunday afternoon in Gubbio entertained by the local band.
We were sad to finish our week in Umbria but we left with many happy memories and can strongly recommend a visit to Umbria and a stay at the Corte.

Room Tip: Top floor with balcony is very nice.

We stayed here for 7 nights with the half board accommodation, and we had an incredible time. The first night our amazing host Andrea set out a map and showed us all the worthy places to visit in the vicinity. Our balcony views were gorgeous, the grounds were beautiful, and we just felt like we were home.

The dinners every night were amazing, I still think about what we were served: the veal, the cured meats! (we were SO disappointed to find out we couldn't take some back to CA with us), the delicious soups, pastas, and desserts! Not to mention the after dinner offerings of liquors or coffee. Try the rosario if it's available, I'm now on a mission to try to make my own version. It's apparent that this agriturismo truly cares about how and where their food was sourced, we even took a trip down to check out their happy pigs!
The location is initially a little hard to find, but that only adds to the charm, every other Agriturismo I saw when we were taking day trips just seemed to pale in comparison to the location and beauty of La Corte del Lupo. We will be back, there is no question.
