We are language students currently living in San Jose for a year. As part of our language learning experience we are encouraged to learn the culture and country where we are studying, SO we took an opportunity before school starts back in January to visit Rio Celeste near Bijagua. We found Sueno Celeste through Tripadvisor when looking for lodging around Bijagua and are glad we did. It was a serene place to relax after traveling half a day from San Jose. The next day Daniel briefed us on how to get to Rio Celeste after serving us a delicious breakfast of fresh fruits, eggs and homemade bread and marmalades. We spent nearly the whole day in Rio Celeste, ate dinner at Tilapia Angel back in town and turned in for the night. The rooms are perfect with a nice large bathroom and plenty of space with a terrace complete with hammocks for enjoying the view of Volcan Tenorio. Their property is also great for walking trails through banana, coffee and guayaba plants as you decend to a lake on adjoining property where you can watch the birds. The only thing missing at Sueno Celeste was the availability of wireless internet (but you don't select from these hidden gems based on the availability of technology) and there are internet cafes in town. We would highly recommend that you allow Daniel, Dominique, and Maeva to take care of you during your stay in the area. We definitely hope to be able to visit them again during our next break from school in late April!

We spent two nights at the Sueno Celeste and loved the place. The owners, Dominque and Daniel, are very nice and run a nice B&B. The place has a slight European feel to it and it's our favorite in Bijagua. We Highly reccommend this quaint and quiet place.

Just back from a trip to Costa Rica and am so glad that I found this awesome Bed and Breakfast, Sueno Celeste, for our stop at Rio Celeste Park. Daniel and Dominique are very knowledgeable of the area and if we had time we could have had Daniel guide our trip to Rio Celeste. Dominique's art with dyeing scarves is fantastic and actually the only souvenier I bought on the whole trip!
Their recommendations for meals, and the breakfast they served was amazing!

We had spent the afternoon at Volcan Tenorio National Parque seeing the stunning turquoise waters of Laguna Azul. After our hike we found ourself with no place to stay. As we were driving along Highway 6 we were stopped by the local police, who unlike most reports about the police in CR were really helpful and recommended Sueno Celeste to us - what luck!
There were 3 of us and we used the 2 rooms available. They were both comfortable and finished with attention to detail. The owners further added to the experience with their welcoming natures and generosity. The breakfast we had was the best in 2 weeks, with the bonus of freshly baked bread (European style!) and with the bird show as a back drop and my first sighting of a toucan - was a perfect start to a day.
If you are in the area, definitely worth a visit.
Pizza in Bijacua was also good - huge serving!!

-Excellent location (Using the Canas route the road to the hostel is new)
-Room is really clean and decorated beautiful

But, the most valuable piece from our experience in the hostel was the extraordinary service received from the owner family.

We highly recommend this hostel as part of your visit to Costa Rica nice people and gorgeous nature!
