“very nice!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2013

This sympathic little hotel is perfect if you want to visit the Rio Celeste and have, at the same time, a real authenticCostarican experience in the small town of Bijagua. Rooms are very clean, people there a really kind and helpfull, and the location is very very nice. Beautifull view on the Miravalles vlcano and they have a nice little garden. The outside kitchen is also very nice and you can have a good breakfast with fresh products for almost nothing. They love nature and they are happy to share their knowledge with you if you show some interest in the beatutifull flowers and trees they take care off. It really was one of my favourite hotel, and for a very reasonable price, it's just lovely!

We spent 2 nights here as a base for a trip to Tenorio National Park. The room was huge and the bathroom had plenty of hot water. A great little soda is a few minutes away so breakfasts are easily had. As we did not have a car Juan was very helpful in getting us a ride to the park for a very reasonable price. He also gave us very helpful information as to pre-purchasing our bus tickets for San Jose so that we would have reserved seats. This hotel is located off the main road so it is reasonably quiet. A very beautiful garden attracts numerous species of birds.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor so that you can sit on the balcony and enjoy the garden and birds...

Leda is an amaizing host. She realy knows the area and her tips are really helpfull. Her charm and simple and honest chat make the perfect compliment for a unforgetable afternoon surounded for the Tenorio and Miravalles volcanoes. The rooms are spacious with AC and satellite tv. If you talk to Leda she can cook breakfast for you and let me tell you that it is amaizingly tasty.

Room Tip: second floor is amaizing. In the mornings you can see lots of birds feeding and singing plus the veg...

The owner Juan was really sweet welcoming us in a clean room (with hot water!), facing the Volcano, gave us a bunch of advices and showed us his garden with which contains amazing frogs...
Honestly, really good deal and we really enjoyed our stay. This place was recommened by another (full) hotel and Juan had the honesty to propose a cheaper room where he could have just gone for the money. go there. no doubt.

We stayed here a few nights and we really fell in love with the village, the manager Juan and the beautiful and simple yellow hotel. The hotel is right in the middle of the village, on a very quiet road. Juan is extremely gentle and helpful. He is always there when you have a question and he is a valuable source of information. The rooms are simple but clean and every day the rooms are cleaned and you get fresh towels. Next to the hotel is a great soda where you can eat a real costa rican breakfast and dinner. It's like a diner in a wild west movie. Women running the place and men on high chairs eating, cheering and watching the women working. Horses park there alongside the cars. We also rented fantastic horses adapted to our different riding skills (arranged by Juan).. And they brought them right to Cacao. This was a great way to experience the village and its surroundings.
The garden of the hotel is beautiful, with a wonderful view of the volcano. The service is wonderful and the price is very low. We highly recommend this place!
