We had planned to try out the new Weatherspoon's in Burgess Hill, but happened to pass The Acorn en route so decided to go there instead as we were hungry! We've been here before so knew the food would be good. The chefs were working full speed and there were plenty of meals stacking up waiting to be delivered to hungry customers, yet there was only one waiter serving all of the tables, taking orders and serving the food as well as taking payments too! Two waitresses were serving drinks at the bar and delivering them to tables. Being a Friday lunchtime it was busy but not filled to capacity. Unfortunately, we had to wait some time before we got our food and by then my husbands garlic bread was cold. It was replaced and also taken off the bill at the end but the wait and the cold extra wouldn't have happened had Beefeater employed enough staff to service this very busy, popular restaurant! Really can't fault the staff. Robert, the waiter, could not have been more pleasant or willing in his duties as a waiter. Everything was done with a smile and he was extremely efficient, as were the chefs but Beefeater, you let yourself down by having too little staff doing too many jobs. Next stop Weatherspoons!
