“Utterly Charming”
Reviewed 16 June 2014 via mobile

We and three other couples of friends stayed for 3 nights, what a delight. Evelyne and Jacky were charming hosts, welcoming us with a few cold beers on a very hot day after a long journey. The house is rustic and beautiful, albeit a little creaky, is full of typical French charm and in a perfect location for a visit to the Somme area. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Philip

Jacky & Eve are the most delightful and welcoming people who have created a fabulous B&B. I was so lucky to have the top floor all to myself! They open their entire home to their guests - it is all one big happy family and they definitely go the extra mile. To be served coffee at 2:30am to ensure I was warmed up prior to attending the Dawn Service was definitely something you would not expect anywhere. Apart from the delightful settings and adorable owners - the location is just perfect. A very short stroll into the main square for everything you need - even the railway station is only a short stroll away. Of course the perfect place to base yourself to do all the battlefield tours. Go and enjoy yourself there.

Room Tip: My room was up in the 'attic'! Just perfect. Worth the extra hike all the way to the top!

A wonderful place to stay for visiting the Somme. Jacky and Evelyne we're incredibly warm and helpful hosts. The room was spacious, warm and had everything we needed. We were travelling with our baby and they even left a change mat and some toys in the room for us. The breakfasts are generous and the house is within walking distance of the cathedral and main square. We stayed for two nights and could happily have stayed longer.

Stayed here with our two teenage boys for one night in October.
Fairly hidden away in a quiet location but only 5 mins walk from the centre of Albert.
Lovely house with exceptionally friendly and helpful hosts.
We had the top floor with two beautifully decorated large and comfortable rooms and a large bathroom between the four of us. Perfect.
Walked into town to eat at night (Hygge Cafe very good).
Lovely continental breakfast in the morning.
Would highly recommened this as a base for the poppy trail (the Musee Somme in Albert is also well worth a visit).
Hope to return for a longer stay next time.

We have just returned fro two nights B&B at this exceptionally lovely home. We were made extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble for Jacky and Evelyne. The room 'Rubis' was perfect with a huge ensuite shower room. The bed was extremely comfortable as well. Literally 5 minutes stroll to the centre of Albert, Au Vintage is ideally placed. We will return again!

A "hidden gem" but not for much longer if reviews continue to heap praise on this lovely B&B just a five minute walk from the centre of Albert, the most convenient location for touring the Somme area and its historic WW1 battlefields. My wife and I have just spent six days doing just that and cannot recommend the 'Au Vintage' highly enough. Evelyne and Jacky are the perfect hosts and their wonderful home has provided us with a regular base for future visits to this often bypassed area of France. We have a deep interest in the tragedy of the 1916 Somme battles and like minded visitors should look no further than the "Au Vintage" as a base for their excursions. And we have added praise for the continental breakfast which, with its baguettes, giant croissants and huge pain au raisins provides more than enough to get you well passed lunchtime.

We stayed in the Rubis room which had an excellent Wi-Fi network; it was very large with an equally large bathroom, both of which were spotlessly clean and very tastefully furnished. During our time there we discovered that Jacky was restoring a 1946 Triumph Roadster and he was more than happy to show it off to us. He has promised us a ride in the 'dickey' seat when next we visit.

Room Tip: The Rubis room is the most expensive and although we didn't view any of the others, fellow break...
