Just left the Tirant Playa Apartments and it's honestly fab. We stayed on a B&B basis, so as far as food goes can only comment on the breakfast which was good, not excellent, but plenty of choice and adequate.

Everything has been refurbished / replaced this winter so from what I can recall from the previous reviews here that people moaned about, these things have been addressed - there are thick fluffy towels which are replaced every other day.
There is a hairdryer in the bathroom -a really good one actually!
There are air conditioning units - one for bedroom, one for living area. There are also black out curtains in both rooms.
The mattress on the bed is super deep and there are four thick pillows plus cushions on the bed along with two duvets in the wardrobe and extra pillows. They all look brand new. I think all the furniture looks brand new as there isn't a mark on anything. Most of the pots pans and utensils look recently purchased as well - they must have spent a fortune on this place recently. Everywhere is freshly painted and the sanitaryware is clean and had new sealant, so all in all the place was spotless and really comfortable.

We hired a car at the hotel from Owners Direct. This was very cheap and we had a great time exploring a lot of the beautiful beaches around the island, most are set in nature reserves, and we had fun visiting Cuitadella and Mahon. It was also a lot cheaper to do our food shopping in Lidl, (one at Cuitadella and one at Mahon) than in the local supermarkets of which there are two near the Tirant Playa Apts, both only a few hundred yards walk away and they are so well stocked you wouldn't go hungry or struggle if you didn't opt to hire a car. They bake fresh bread and do take away pizzas. You can also get take away food from the restaurants near the apartments, we got our takeaway meal from Es Cactus, which was really tasty.
It's so quiet and relaxed here, the pools are generally quiet and you can always get a sunbed at any time of the day because most folk go off exploring the island. The pools are also spotlessly clean and the grounds are neat and tidy and well maintained, there was no litter and the staff are always busy keeping the place nice and all are friendly.
If you want to do laundry, there is a washing machine available which is €3 and each apartment has a small washing line.
It was such a relaxing laid back lovely holiday that I would definitely recommend it and would definitely return. The island is wonderful and these apartments are spotless, spacious and the perfect home from home.
If anything could be improved, I think maybe the WiFi, we had to rely on mobile 4g if we wanted Internet, also some of the steps can be tricky ad steep and cracked with no handrails. That said. There is a sweeping gently sloping pathway all round so for those unsteady on their feet it's not a problem to get around the complex.

This is a lovely quiet place we have appartment number 9 and we could see part of the sea from out side. Nacho the handy man was very very helpful. Reception good but speaks little english so swot up on your spanish. Its spread out so you do not feel squashed up and the grounds are kepy lovely by Nacho. We went self catering and hired a car from the airport as it was cheaper than from the resort. Shopped at lidl and eroski there has a brand new one open in mahon. If ypu want to look at island its a must to hire a car as buses not much use. I love menorca and feel there are no bad places.this is the veiw from apartment 9.

Went self-catering with 4 adults , the apartment was a bit small for 4 adults , however it was well equipped , clean , all in all a pretty resort . Great swimming pool ..... Only problem was having hauled 8 tons of tuna over there between the 4 of us we could not work out how to use the tin opener !!!

We have stayed here on several occasions and this year found the experience even better. A recent refurbishment s given the apartment s a fresher more updated look and they now have effective air conditioning.
The rooms are spacious and the kitchen has all you need for simple catering (we were self catering)
Before our stay we emailed to request a certain apartment and we were pleased to that Luis the manager ad granted our request,.
The apartment is cleaned and fresh towels supplied twice weekly
There is a large pool which we didn’t use as we prefer the beach.
A couple of excellent restaurants and bars are within easy walking distance .
The resort is quiet but charming. We had a hire car which is recommended but there is also a regular bus service.
We plan to return again

Playa es Fornells is a quiet and tranquil location with some very good restaurants and two local supermarkets within easy walking distance. We hired a car for the duration of our stay - handy, but not essential. The TRH Tirant apartos is small and well laid out, clean and tidy, set in pleasant open gardens. No karaoke, no discos or other entertainment. Not the place for teenagers but great for couples with or without children who want a peaceful break. There is plenty of space around the pool and (early June) plenty of sun beds, many of which remain unused all day. Take into account the 'Tourist Tax' of about $100 per couple for a two week stay, a comparatively high charge for use of the safe (we didn't bother) and for wifi access (its free in the local restaurants).
Based largely on previous TripAdvisor reviews about the catering, we elected to stay on a self catering basis so cannot comment on the catering. Local supermarket for fresh croissants ad/or baguettes each day. We paid cash in the pool side bar for a couple of draft soft drinks and some crisps on the first day and found it very expensive. There are some very good restaurants within easy walking distance and one in particular, The Okapi, is very popular, with pleasant, friendly and efficient staff serving good food at good prices. The old fishing village of Fornells is about two miles away and is a pleasant walk on the roads for those able, including a shorter coast walk across rocky terrain (about one mile).
The accommodation comprises a three room apartment; bathroom (with hairdryer), good sized sitting area with kitchenette and a good sized bedroom. The bed settee is perfectly adequate and surprisingly comfortable. The kitchenette has very basic equipment, hob and small microwave with kettle and toaster, crockery and cutlery. We used the kitchenette to prep breakfast and light lunch but dined out each evening. There are two air conditioning units, one in each of the sitting room and bedroom.
My only adverse comment about the Tirant concerns a very noisy kitchen extractor fan that 'trumpets' for anything between 20 minutes and three hours at varying times of the day. The earliest start time was 7:45am and the latest end time was 9:45pm. It was more noticeable from our apartment, number 12, to the right of the site and virtually impossible to hear from the other side. The extractor fan also worked to flush the cooking smells from the kitchen towards our apartment. Irritating!
But we will return, the location and peace (other than the trumpeting extractor fan) will draw us back again. Great location for peace and quiet, good apartment with great restaurants nearby. We booked a package through TUI but it can be done through the smaller 'on-line' operators and probably cheaper too ! All in all, a great location.

Room Tip: Left (north) side of the site for better views and quieter location
