Les Lauriers Roses
This hotel is Wizzywig - what you see is what you get. No frills, no extravagance, but a clean room a comfy bed, wholesome food, a warm welcome and, surprisingly, a very cold swimming pool at the end of the season in September. The price is reasonable, and you get good value for your money. The village is almost silent during the day, but between about 3am and 5am the road outside our room was positively lively: seemingly staging a convention of farm vehicles, rubbish collectors and motorbikes. If you have a room overlooking the road, and want to sleep with your windows open, you must be prepared for a bit of early-morning noise. But you really can't fault this hotel. Supper is good - not flashy - but plentiful. And there is a huge breakfast buffet. Off-street parking is a bonus, and it's really quite convenient for a number of wonderful sights in this part of the world, of which the Pont du Gard and Uzes were our favourites. We liked it.
