It is difficult to write a review that would do our holiday justice. To say it exceeded our expectations would be an understatement, it was everything we could have hoped for.

1. Christophe (who runs it) and the rest of the team are just amazing. They understand luxury, family and fun.

2. Our 3 year old loved the creche. She does go to nursery at home but often doesn't want to (unfortunately), so we were unsure as to whether she would want to go as we have had experiences on other holidays before where she has refused to go to the creche. Not so here !, she would often ask to go, and because you can drop them off whenever you like it's lovely not to feel pressure to do so…The girls in the creche are just fantastic.

3. The monitors reach the bar area......which was great for evening socialising - We recommend the cocktails.

4. We had two nights out of the accommodation on the babysitting night to visit the local restaurants. We have only used family at home to babysit and were doubtful we'd use this facility. However, because the children build up such a happy relationship with the excellent staff you know they're in safe hands should they wake and need assistance beyond the friendly babysitters they bring in. It just works ! - do remember to take your wallet to the restaurant though, otherwise you and your wife may be called "No Dosh n’ Becks" for the rest of the holiday by the other guests.

5. The environment is just lovely, and it's a great place to spend family time. My wife, I, and the little one, took a boat out onto the local lake and went for a swim in the middle - great fun.

6. There is lots of opportunity to play Petanque - Christope is a big fan, and true virtuoso of the game - he moves around the pitch like a Panther, and with three silver balls in hand he’s like a chess grandmaster and wizard all rolled into one. He will invite you to play, and he takes it very seriously. He is apparently never beaten, although there is a legend (true or not?) that a guest nicknamed “The Petanque Angel” once visited and gave him a good beating.

The nights where he does a competition for all the guests is a great ice breaker and you'll find plenty of guests to share in your holiday fun.

7. We were all excited to hear the morning cry "ANNNIIIMMMAAAALLLLSSS" so we could all go and feed the donkeys, horses, pigs and chickens etc - the kids love it…and so do the “Adults” ;)

If you're looking for somewhere to go, that is great for the family, relaxed, fun - we can’t recommend it highly enough. Honestly, my wife and our 3 year old cried when we left (I didn't because i'm “strong like bull”).

Matt (AKA The Petanque Angel”), Becks and Esmé.

P.S. We miss you all !!!!!! - really !! - We will be back !!!!

We went to France towards the end of August 2015 and spent the second week at Country Kids. The car park is a very short walk from the accommodation and before we had even turned off our engine, Christophe the Manager and another member of staff called Nancy were already there to welcome us and take all our luggage. We were taken to the bar area because we had arrived early and were offered lunch. The food was lovely, the location beautiful and the staff so super friendly and professional. First impressions last and we had only just arrived.

The following 7 days were brilliant. We had 3 adults and 4 children staying in the Farm House and there was amble space. The accommodation was very clean, tastefully decorated and within close proximity to everything we needed for the week ahead. Every single day our children had an amazing time. Their ages range from 2 to 10 and yet the Country KIds team had planned a suitable range of different activities which they loved. Alice from Country KIds organises everything and she is simply superb at her job. Impossible to improve upon in fact. I personally was unable to participate in any of the sports due to an injury, but Alice still accommodated me by arranging for a massage every day at no extra cost. I did not ask, she simply offered and arranged everything. The beauty treatment and massage specialists were excellent. Highly experienced and very friendly.

The food was consistently very good and varied. Every meal was special and served with lovely wine. Thanks to Peter the chef.

We have never stayed at an all inclusive, but some of the other guests had. They all said that the choice of drinks, soft and alcoholic, were better than anywhere they had stayed at before and Country KIds really was an all inclusive, with NO hidden charges. That's enough of a recommendation to know that Country KIds is a superb holiday venue.

I could write lots more but i think the above is a good reflection of a perfect holiday.

The Creche staff were extra special and Christele spent time taking my children on walks and playing games, often well beyond her normal working hours.

Christophe and his team are what makes Counry KIds so unique. We need to come back again, even if its just for me to try and beat Christophe at Petanque or try one of his fantastic cocktails.

Thank you very much everyone. You made an important holiday just perfect and 7 days of pure enjoyment and fun.

SImon and Family
xx

When we first arrived at Country Kids 4 years ago, we were instantly made to feel welcome, our baggage was unloaded from the car and placed in our apartment. We set about exploring the extensive, fenced, child-friendly property followed up by a quick drink in the bar to discuss how the week will be structured and what we could expect whilst the children were playing in the wooden castle slide just across the lawn.

During the whole week, the team were superb, always polite and particularly mindful that we were there to relax and most importantly, to have a holiday... nothing was too much trouble and anything could be done as and when we liked. We had spa treatments, tennis lessons, jacuzzis and time to finish a book for the first time since we had children. With other activities available such as mountain biking, walking, fishing, sailing, windsurfing, pony trekking, horse and cart riding as well several other activities, we and the children were thoroughly entertained for the entire week. The only trouble was that a week wasn't long enough!

Albeit a little reluctant to begin with, the first year we were there, we put our 2 year old daughter into the Kids club for a short time on the first morning but when she asked to go back later that afternoon because she had had so much fun with the 1-1 carers and other little children playing dollies and in the active play area, how could we refuse? From then on, she bounded out of the apartment every morning to feed the animals, (pigs, rabbits, chickens, goats, horse and donkeys) before washing her hands, having an ice pop and rushing off to kids club - she also loved being picked up from our apartment for the pyjama party breakfast later in the week. (a lie in for both parents - who would have thought it possible!)

The super thing about the kids club, is that you know the little ones are nearby, having a ball, entirely safe, incredibly well looked after and being thoroughly entertained. The play they put on at the end of the week was super-cute and their bug adventure on the tractor produced animals I didn't think existed in Europe. The daily routine (if you want to participate) of wandering down to the breakfast bar, going off to the farm to feed the animals (including finding eggs each morning) meant Mummy had some peace and quiet at the start of the day. Meeting up for lunch (sometimes) and having all meals cooked superbly on site (there's a new kitchen coming which will impress next year I'm sure) makes your stay extremely easy and straight-forward with true 5 star service and attention to detail, there's very little to improve.

After the kids have told you what they have made, drawn or done in the morning, they are raring to go back in the afternoon to continue their theme of the day. (Pirates, princesses etc) Having another child meant we appreciated the rest and break from the endless nappy, sleeps and entertainment routine even more!

After kids club, we usually take them swimming (as well as having some swimming lessons for them) in the 30 degree pool - having a blast on the slide with all the water pistols, floats, ice creams and drinks you could ask for. The afternoon tea is also extremely well received and the apple crumble is delicious!

The week absolutely flew by and we have been back every year since. Don't get me wrong, you are living in the country and this is not a minimalist, luxurious retreat where you'll be exploring fine restaurants and all day pampering... what it is however, is the best family holiday in a country setting you could ever imagine, with thoughtful extras that will make your week special and memorable for the children for all the right reasons.

We were thrilled with the welcome basket, the facilities and the fact the baby monitors worked in the bar by the petanque area and thoroughly relaxed immediately.

The 2 inclusive baby-sitting nights, (with washing ironed on the Thursday night) meant we had a full set of clean clothes to pack and very little washing when we got home and we got out for the first time in a long time as a couple.

Needless to say, we have booked again for the next two years (that's 4 years in a row now and will be 6) and are looking forward to our children being entertained for an entire week and sleeping extremely well because they've had such a busy day (will be 7 and 5)

The older one will be joining the new "big kids" club and camping outdoors, canyoning, canoeing, treasure hunting, sailing and fishing... all excellent, fun out door country pursuits done with expert supervision and thoughtful little touches to excite and engage the children. I'm sure our little lad will want to join in too though!

Finishing with a fabulous barbecue lunch on the friday, followed by a 2nd boules competition on the Friday night, we really did have a fabulous week. Thank you Chirstophe and Emma and to the whole team for all your outstanding efforts - we can't wait to be back again next year!

Room Tip: All rooms suits different family set ups, Chestnut - best terrace. Farm house - great for 2 families. Apt 1, great for grand parents

Having read the promises on the Country Kids website along with the glowing reviews on tripadvisor - we had very high expectations. So much so, I worried we may be disappointed. I can honestly say, every expectation was met.

Country Kids is a wonderfully unique retreat designed with young families at the heart. Everything is geared towards giving parents a relaxing, stress-free break as well as giving young children an exciting, safe environment to have fun.

All of the staff go out of their way to ensure you have a great time. They create a down-to-earth, relaxed and friendly atmosphere where nothing is too much trouble. Whether it is refilling your glass, helping you plan your week's activities or bringing a coffee to your terrace - someone is always on hand, but never intrusive.

We were on the 'summer package' which includes all food and drink, activities etc. The food was absolutely superb - and plentiful! We had two delicious communal lunches as well as beautiful meals and puddings delivered to our apartment door. The children's meals were all taken care if too - which is a nice break for parents.

My little boy (2 years) loved the creche. Kirsty, Vivien and all the ladies in the creche were warm and enthusiastic and I felt totally at ease leaving him there. He often was reluctant to leave. My husband and I enjoyed sipping champagne one afternoon watching him from afar as he excitedly looked for clues on the treasure hunt. He also adored the animal feeding each morning.

There are too many thoughtful little touches to mention without this review becoming far too long. All I can say is; if you have found yourself lamenting how your holidays used to be before children, I would advise you to book your holiday here. It is admittedly more expensive that your average family holiday but, for us, it was well worth it.

A big thank you to Christophe, Nancy, Alice and all the team for helping to give us a fantastic week.

Emma, Dan and Monty.

Room Tip: Chestnut House is great as it is a little more private and backs on to gardens

This summer we returned for our second trip and stayed in the Farmhouse the largest and one of the two detached properties on site.

We all (two adults 40 ish one Grandad (75 ish) and our children 8/ 5 had a wonderful week of relaxing and making memories. Included with your stay are multiple spa visits as many tennis sessions or trips off site such as canoes on lake or down gorges, riding ponies either in a menage or if more competent down to the lake, fishing, etc etc

or sometimes just lazing by the pool reading a book whilst knowing the children are happy playing tag or partaking in a creche activity run by the super team is just as good a treat!

I would unreservedly recommend this place to families with children from 0-12!
