This was our second visit to Country Kids within one year and it was just as fabulous as our first. Our children just love the freedom to roam around the safe and exciting grounds, play outside and enjoy the fantastic entertainment provided in big and little kids clubs. Laure and Sylvain could not be more welcoming and friendly and all the staff genuinely seem to care just as much as you do that you all have a wonderful holiday. The accommodation is perfect, comfortable, luxurious and full of amenities for children (including washing machine). Part of the fun is mixing with other families, and the welcome lunch on the first day is both fun and delicious and a lovely touch. There's daily animal feeding and then tea at 4.30. And then stacks of activities available off and on site. It's all so relaxed and fun and Sylvain and Laure will make you feel really at home and nothing's too much trouble. You get to spend lovely time as a family but also just with your partner as your kids will want to be off at kids club and you will feel no hesitation in feeling totally confident they will be beautifully looked after and won't miss you at all if you want to go off winetasting etc. Could not recommend this holiday more highly for families.

Room Tip: All rooms top quality but check if you need ground floor

Country Kids was amazing. The new owners Sylvain and Laure were so accommodating, friendly and thoughtful - we will definitely be back.

Country Kids is set up for families, from the lovely welcome food kit for parents to the games and kids books for various ages in the apartment.

The cellar was incredible with a wide range of wine, heaven for any parent. Our little ones actually wanted to go to the kids club and Kristy the manager was amazing. The frozen home cooked meals at the Country Kids store were delicious and the the fresh baguettes and pastries every morning were a delight. The staff could not have been more friendly. Our little one was sick while we were there and Laure was able to provide us with medicine she had at hand, Alice the Manager brought in some sweaters of her own children for our girls when the weather had a sudden change.

We are Australian's living in Dubai and were after fresh air and farm life for our children to experience and we were not disappointed. The morning animal visit was a delight, the playground, trampolines, mini golf, sandpit, tennis and basketball courts were so handy and meant it was easy to entertain the kids in a relaxed setting. Although it was just a little too chilly for the swimming pool (for us who come from the desert), we can imagine it would be a great addition in summer. If you are looking for a relaxed trip with your family, where everything has already been thought through, where the team work with you on your itinerary at the start of the week (we had massages, pony rides, dinners, trips to local markets and towns all planned with the help of the manager) and where you and the kids can just easily relax and enjoy the peaceful surrounds, then Country Kids is the place to be! We can understand why people come back year after year.

Life has been so hectic that I am only getting round to writing this review over the Christmas break. We went to Country Kids back in May 2015. Our oldest was 2 and half and our youngest was 5 months. The baptism of fire that was the arrival of the second baby, coupled with constant lack of sleep from reflux meant that we were in much need of a break away.

I did the usual, researching online about where to go, looking at all the 'baby review websites' etc. A Telegraph article and the stellar reviews here made me book, despite thinking at the time that it was a lot of money for a trip only across the Channel.

Well... it was worth every penny. The children loved it, and the homely hospitality of Christophe, Alice and Nancy was wonderful. My husband and I spent lots of time TOGETHER for the first time in ages, with the children happy and content in the creche. The creche is clean, well-appointed and well managed. The staff there when we visited were very loving and caring towards the children. We also took full advantage of the beauty therapies and yoga and our first meal out together without the children was a success. We stayed in a lower ground apartment which in May had lovely wisteria outside it and outdoor seating. The apartments come equipped with all baby facilities and you can even order from Boots international if you need any extras. There is a supermarket not far away but the little shop/honesty bar/home cooked meals is all that you may need if you would like to be reclusive.

There were couples there with children the same age and you tend to bump into each other if you do pre-arranged activities (pony riding was a lot of fun but don't be late or the lady who runs it won't be too happy). However, you can be alone as a family as much as you like without appearing ‘rude’.

7 months on, it still makes me smile to think of the staff and the break at Country Kids. Gosh, when I look back at how brainwashed and tired I was in May and how much of a refreshing and easy a lovely the trip to Country Kids was, I can see it helped bring on a change in how I felt about being a parent. As parents, Country Kids makes you feel human again and allows you to reconnect with your partner and with other adults/grown up banter if you choose. You can also enjoy the company of your children without having to deal with daily domesticity. The housekeeping team are fastidious in there efforts and the apartments are very clean.

All the staff went out of their way to make the children feel happy. I remember my youngest having cuddles from Alice, Christophe and my oldest chatting about everything and anything whilst I enjoyed a (fantastic) coffee and relaxed. Friendly Nancy has a superb manner and between her, Christophe and Alice they solved any logistical issue (not that were many). My children missed them so much when we left!

On the day we left, about 2 minutes into our drive away, we actually turned around, and went back to re-book for the following year. That is how relaxed we felt on out break.

My advice is pack light - toiletries for grown ups are there already and washing facilities are fab. If you can find a week that is available, and you like the country, wine, good food and your husband(!) it is the trip for you!

PS Alice - thank you so much for helping me find that dentist. I forgot what delicious French bread can do to crowns....

we've been at country kids for 1 delightful week (and we were sorry for not staying another one..) let's say this is the perfect place to be with young kids as there are so many activities, places and things to do more then you think.
the place run kids club with experienced English-speaking staff so the kids can stay there while the parents are resting/traveling.
the Vila is very clean, comfy and child friendly.
a basket full of fresh fruit and dry food waited for us. you can order from the restaurant or you can buy from the small grocery store and cook at the Vila, ether way it's easier with small kids.
The stuff is very very friendly, work hard to satisfy the guests and you can see the high maintenance in every detail.
thank you for a fantastic experience! Christopher, Nancy and Alice you are wonderful people!!
we will defiantly come back next year :)

Love you very much,
Zinger family

It is difficult to write a review that would do our holiday justice. To say it exceeded our expectations would be an understatement, it was everything we could have hoped for.

1. Christophe (who runs it) and the rest of the team are just amazing. They understand luxury, family and fun.

2. Our 3 year old loved the creche. She does go to nursery at home but often doesn't want to (unfortunately), so we were unsure as to whether she would want to go as we have had experiences on other holidays before where she has refused to go to the creche. Not so here !, she would often ask to go, and because you can drop them off whenever you like it's lovely not to feel pressure to do so…The girls in the creche are just fantastic.

3. The monitors reach the bar area......which was great for evening socialising - We recommend the cocktails.

4. We had two nights out of the accommodation on the babysitting night to visit the local restaurants. We have only used family at home to babysit and were doubtful we'd use this facility. However, because the children build up such a happy relationship with the excellent staff you know they're in safe hands should they wake and need assistance beyond the friendly babysitters they bring in. It just works ! - do remember to take your wallet to the restaurant though, otherwise you and your wife may be called "No Dosh n’ Becks" for the rest of the holiday by the other guests.

5. The environment is just lovely, and it's a great place to spend family time. My wife, I, and the little one, took a boat out onto the local lake and went for a swim in the middle - great fun.

6. There is lots of opportunity to play Petanque - Christope is a big fan, and true virtuoso of the game - he moves around the pitch like a Panther, and with three silver balls in hand he’s like a chess grandmaster and wizard all rolled into one. He will invite you to play, and he takes it very seriously. He is apparently never beaten, although there is a legend (true or not?) that a guest nicknamed “The Petanque Angel” once visited and gave him a good beating.

The nights where he does a competition for all the guests is a great ice breaker and you'll find plenty of guests to share in your holiday fun.

7. We were all excited to hear the morning cry "ANNNIIIMMMAAAALLLLSSS" so we could all go and feed the donkeys, horses, pigs and chickens etc - the kids love it…and so do the “Adults” ;)

If you're looking for somewhere to go, that is great for the family, relaxed, fun - we can’t recommend it highly enough. Honestly, my wife and our 3 year old cried when we left (I didn't because i'm “strong like bull”).

Matt (AKA The Petanque Angel”), Becks and Esmé.

P.S. We miss you all !!!!!! - really !! - We will be back !!!!
