A lovely little gite, everything that was needed. Clean and comfortable. Entrayagues is a little town with everything, shops, restaurants and lovely walks along the river. The river view from the balcony is great. Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you carolyn.

“beautiful setting for a lovely gite.”
Reviewed 20 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We stayed here for a week in July and Carolyn and Paul's gite is lovely. Clean, well-equipped and with fabulous view and swimming pool. We were made to feel at home, helped by welcome bottle of wine. Entraygues is a lovely town and has all you need in this stunning part of France. Road noise is less if you shut the shutters at night. Thanks, we will be back.

“Lovely view, pleasant hosts but noisy road.”
Reviewed 12 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This is a review of two halves. The host, Caroline was welcoming, generous (bottle of wine and milk in the fridge) and, after the initial greeting left us to our own devices. The area is delightful and Entraygues- Sur Truyere has some good restaurants and bars plus small markets with excellent local produce. But, and it is a big but, the house is next to a narrow but major road, re-routed this way to avoid the ancient and narrow bridge. This meant lots of traffic, including some big lorries, from early morning until early evening. The adverts and previous reviews play this down but we found it irritating and were disappointed not to be able to sit outside on the terrace without road noise. There is a grassy area next to the river which could be more pleasant, although still next to the road, but which needs development - better garden furniture, planting etc. The terrace area of the house and some of the living room furniture is also a little tired. To be fair, the bedroom is very pleasant and the house is well equipped with Sky tv, books and DVDs, plus use of washing machine etc. There is plenty of information about places to go and this is a wonderful area to explore . . . For walking, cycling, driving, canoeing, eating and drinking. I think the owners might get a better letting rate if they revamped the garden and terrace and perhaps dropped the price to take account of the road problem. However not everybody minds a road and this could be a great base for wider exploration.

Thank you for your review. Carolyn always tries to be helpful. We continually review our pricing for our self catering gite with it's own terrace, private swimming pool, off road parking, private garden and the free use of a garage. Perhaps if we did not include the washing machine, iron, hair dryer, WiFi, DVD player, English and French DVDs, English and French books, English TV, toiletries, safe, six sun loungers and cushions inclusive in the price we could charge less initially, but as some of our guests fly these extras are welcome. We decided not to over develop or commercialise the riverside garden as a lot of our guests like to relax under the walnut tree, either on the chairs or sun loungers, and let the world go by. Some sit on the river bank and fish. There are apple and cherry trees for shade and in the pigeonier is a croquet set for those feeling a little more energetic. The private terrace has furniture for dining, furniture for lounging as well as two sun loungers, a parasol, planters and two BBQ's. Any more would make it too crowded. The road into our medieval village is the D920, it is a mixture of single track and passing places. The 14th century bridge is one way for preservation purposes. Entraygues is a working village, primarily agriculture and secondary tourism. It has bars, restaurants, shops, bakers, butchers, a bank, a cinema and a vets, but still retains it's medieval character. We are on the edge of the village, in other gites a car would be needed to go into Entraygues, where as we just walk over the gothic bridge and back again. we thank you for your positive comments left in our visitors book.

“Delightful gite”
Reviewed 2 April 2014 for a stay in September 2012

We have stayed at Vue du Pont 2 summers in a row, we love it so much. Owners Paul & Carolyn are very pleasant, helpful, yet unobtrusive people, staying next door if you need anything. Entraygues is a pretty little medieval town, and the somewhat undiscovered Aveyron region is beautiful - gorges, rivers, greenery and history.
The gite is all a couple could ask for: lovely wooden windows and French doors leading outside, a nice sized living room with a well equipped kitchen at its end; an airy bedroom, a good bathroom - very comfortable and homely. The house is on a road, but thanks to its elevated position you cannot see it - your views are of the river, gardens, and a magnificient old bridge. And there's a large terrace, which is ideal for breakfasts, lounging in the sun, and for those long warm evenings with a barbecue and a glass of wine. We can't wait to be back!

“fabulous little place”
Reviewed 29 March 2014 for a stay in August 2013

My 10 year old daughter and I stayed here for a week and where very impressed. The apartment was neat and tidy and had all that we needed including a well equipped kitchen, tv, books and dvds. We also had a large balcony where we could sit and enjoy the view. The property overlooks a very tranquil river which flows down to the lovely old bridge- very pretty and relaxing. There is also a nice clean pool, perfect for my daughter to splash about in without upsetting anyone. We were able to walk into the small friendly town each day where there is a good range of shops, bars and restaurants which catered for all our needs. We would thoroughly recommend this gite- its a perfect little get away in a typical french town.

“Lovely Gite in a friendly village!”
Reviewed 8 March 2014 for a stay in July 2013

Had a enjoyable stay at this well equipped, clean and comfortable cottage. The Gite had everything we needed and the use of the private pool was splendid. It was lovely to make use of the garden by the river to enjoy a nice bottle of wine. The local village has all the amenities that you could require. Everybody we came across were very friendly and welcoming. Weather was hot during our stay. Would definitely visit again.
